Long gaps between greeting, ordering, delivery and checking up. Ordered 2 apps, but only 1 arrived. When server came back to check admitted she forgot to order 2nd one. Dinner had not yet arrived so we told her to go ahead and order it. Dinner arrived 5 mins later followed by app. "Oh sorry it came before I could cancel it." 2nd wine ordered did not match previous Sauv Blanc Bar wait/manager? Insisted it was same. Was not. When table wait staff came to check she went back and right one delivered 5-10 mins later. No ketchup offered by food delivery persons with fries. Another ask. Another wait. Same with spoons for dessert. Check and receipt. IMO too many hands in the process too many lapses in communication. Doubtful I will return. read more

Griddle 145 was widely regarded as one of the Lehigh Valley's best brunch spots. They closed in December and reopened in January 2026 with a new dinner-only concept: The Broken Record, with plans to add lunch and brunch down the road. The vibe lands somewhere between The Shelby (Allentown) and Orchid (Bethlehem)--modern, dark, and chic, with an open layout and subtle nods to a recording-studio aesthetic. It's a polished space that clearly had thought put into it. Jerry, the GM, is warm and welcoming, and even during a soft opening the operation felt well-staffed and energetic. While some team members are still finding their rhythm, there's a solid core of seasoned staff who keep things moving smoothly. The bar is clean, new, and comfortable, with plush seating and cleverly tucked-away TVs--present enough to catch the score, discreet enough to keep the focus on conversation. We opted for small plates from the elevated pub menu (stone-oven pizzas, tacos, salads, sandwiches). While I plan to return and explore more of the menu, this first round was, unfortunately, underwhelming. Zucchini Fries - A familiar dish, but fried perfectly and arguably the highlight of the evening. Tempura Cauliflower - Fun idea, but overly breaded, bite-sized nuggets paired with an "aioli" that leaned more toward tinted mayo. Ahi Tuna Tostada - Fresh and clean, though awkward to eat and missing a bit of cohesion. Skirt Steak Frites - Poutine-adjacent in concept, but ordered medium and arrived well-done and quite gristly. Heavy butter application didn't help. Mushroom Risotto - More mashed-potato texture than risotto. Pleasant flavor, but not true to form. That said, I'm still rooting for this place. As a fan of their Blanche de Bruxelles wit served in a frosted glass, I'll be back to spin the menu again--hoping to add The Broken Record to my regular rotation... or confirm that it's still skipping. read more

Standard fare. Chicken Caesar salad was pretty good. Husband got crab cakes and wings. He said crab cakes were okay. Liked the wings and he is pretty picky about his wings. The place is new and the decor is rather slick and cold, not very comfortable or welcoming. Service was prompt and responsive; the waiter refilled my iced tea without asking and checked with me several times to make sure all was ok. My pizza, with sausage, caramelized onions and ricotta, was of high quality but overstuffed and underbaked so the slices were floppy and not crispy like I prefer. This place is a hidden gem in the heart of Trexlertown! I started with the mushroom risotto and it was incredible. Moist, heavy creamy risotto with fresh wild mushrooms and parmesan cheese. Add some protein and this could be a full meal! I then ordered a house sandwich. Portobello mushroom, roasted red pepper, a pesto aioli on a crusty ciabatta bread. It's crusty, flavorful, and perfect if you are looking for something lighter on a hot day! The dish came with chips, or you could do a salad or potato. The chips were seasoned and while I never figured out what they were, they added the perfect flavor to a sandwich. Everything in the restaurant was aesthetically perfect - all the way down to the drinks themselves. The waitress was attentive without overbearing and made sure we had what we wanted without the constant interruptions. If you're a fan of Shelby, this is a great alternative, with a bit more down to earth options without sacrificing the flavors! read more

Stopped in tonight to grab a little food, this is my second visit here and the place is only getting better! I ordered the house chopped salad and an order of their truffle fries. I have no complaints and only compliments! I sat at the bar and everyone is very welcoming and attentive. The place is quite busy but it's a good sign of a new spot being welcomed to the area! Where to start the ambience and music is on point, had to try to keep myself in my seat and not stand up singing to all the great music. The drinks are also great huge fan of the vanilla old fashion i say its a must try. The apps were all amazing and the pizza has a wonderful crisp to it and great flavor. My absolute favorite sandwiches are the drunken chicken and blackened chicken and of course you have to get the parmesan fries that are probably one of the best fries i have ever had. The servers that i have had so far have all been great as well never left my drink empty and food came out in all good timing.
