The only variable I didn't define if the font. I assumed the tattoo artist would know best what would work. For some reason, they wanted me to provide artwork. I get it, you do a lot of work and everybody wants something different, but I just wanted a name and date, since the size was specified, the only thing left to debate was the type style. For some reason, they couldn't or wouldn't quote me, I was told that there was a good chance it would be the shop minimum, but they couldn't confirm and with it being 110 degrees, I didn't want to be shuffling up and down the strip when any competent shop should have been able to quote me in advance. That did in fact happen here, and when the people at Illuminati were clear and told me they would present me with font choice that didn't elevate their quote, I ended up using them. I have no idea how much money flows through Vegas, but when people come here, they come to spend. Pardon me if I like to know in advance what I'm spending. So unless Yelp has changed their policy that a review is a unique experience, I trust that this detailed account of Revolt satisfies the terms and conditions I agreed to. Moderation is great, but without integrity, the review system breaks down.

From the moment we walked in, Jenna at the front desk made us feel welcome. Then we met three incredible artists who each brought their own talent and personality to the experience. Brian did mine, and I absolutely love how it turned out. Alex took care of my friend's tattoo and did amazing work. Abi did my wife's piece, and it came out beautifully. All three artists were professional, friendly, and seriously talented. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We'll definitely be back for more ink.

*************In Response to Ownership's Comments*************…read moreI never rant, I explain. The fact that you claim the only way to get your best service is to come in is exactly how and why you earned a single star review. So here is my PSA if you care to rectify what you did wrong. Disarm customers. People have stigmas about tattoo. For some it could be the price, for others it could be the pain and for some it could be the quality. I know what I wanted was so vanilla, that anyone could not only do it, but do it quickly. Originally, I thought Koolsville could do it and I'm sure they could, but in reflection, I didn't want a tattoo that was going to fade or not look like a paid full price. If I had a car and parking wasn't an issue, I might have popped in on all the shops I considered, but again, knowing that what I wanted was a 1 on a scale of 1-10 in terms or effort or expertise, I just wanted to know I was going to get what I needed without being ripped-off or dismissed. The shop that I ended up using understood what I wanted, was able to confirm pricing ahead of time and ASSURED ME, IF I CAME IN, I'D BE TAKEN GOOD CARE OF. That didn't happen in my exchange with your staff. *********************************************************** Yelp claims to be a place of integrity, but at times the review system is abused. Reviews are intended to capture an experience. You don't have to spend money or even be a customer to have an experience with a business and that is exactly what I reviewed for Black Spade. I reached out to them about having work done while I was on vacation. Rather than call them rude or abrasive, which they were, I'll just say they were dismissive. Based on that interaction, I continued to request quotes from other vendors before being treated with respect by Illuminati Tattoos. So, unless Yelp has changed their policy and reviews now require a documented exchange of money. That is my first-hand recount of contacting Black Spade. Some times you got to call a spade a spade.

FRANK Oh. My. God…read more Where do I even begin with this absolute fever dream of an experience. I went to frank for a tattoo thinking I was about to embark on a meaningful, spiritual journey of self-expression. What I actually embarked on was a psychological thriller directed by someone who once saw a tattoo machine in a YouTube ad and said, "Yeah, I can do that." First of all, this man's studio looked like a storage unit that lost a custody battle. The "vibe" was somewhere between abandoned dentist office and haunted vape shop. There was a single folding chair that sounded like it was begging for mercy every time I breathed. Now let's talk about the tattoo. I actually had to take a lap around the studio because WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT'S ON MY BODY FOREVER AND IT'S PERFECT??? The lines are so clean they look AI-generated. The shading? So smooth it feels illegal. The placement? Spiritual. Cosmically aligned. If I stand at the right angle I'm pretty sure it unlocks inner peace. I keep catching myself staring at it like it's a new pet. I have shown it to strangers. I have adjusted my outfits to make sure it's visible. I moisturize it like it's royalty. If it asked me for rent, I would pay it. The pain? Worth it. The adrenaline? Elite. The emotional attachment? Concerning. This tattoo has changed my personality. I now say things like "yeah, my artist..." as if I've been part of an underground art collective for years. I have zero chill about it. If you make eye contact with me for longer than two seconds, I will show you. Five stars for talent. Five stars for making me question reality. I walked in mildly nervous and walked out feeling like I had just been branded by a mysterious but benevolent art deity. Would I go back? Absolutely. Would I understand him any better? Probably not. Do I care? Not even slightly. Anyway, 10/10. No notes. I would absolutely let this happen to me again.

I walked in as a normal human being and left spiritually reconfigured, emotionally moisturized, and…read morepermanently superior in a slightly concerning way. All because of Frank. The line work? Cleaner than Charlie Sheen. The shading? Smoother than my ability to make responsible life choices. At one point I genuinely considered framing the stencil and starting a minimalist life devoted solely to admiring it. Not only did he absolutely demolish my expectations (in a good way, like i demolish Taco Bell after a breakup bender), but the vibes were immaculate. 10/10 would trust him with my skin, my secrets, and possibly the deed to my house. Book the appointment. Let him alter your molecular structure. You won't regret it.

Update 08/21/2026…read more We're Back!!! It didn't take my wife and I long to start planning our next tattoos once we healed up from our first tattoos. We had another amazing experience here at Lunar Ink. This time though, it was more relaxing. The ice had already been broken from our first visit so this time it felt like we were visiting friends while still holding up the same professionalism and care you deserve. I will let their art work speak for how talented these two are. I just love how they can take a design and completely make it their own and just NAIL IT! Thank you Amethyst & John! Until next time!

Inspired by the Welcome to Holland poem, my friend and I got matching tulip tattoos--something deeply personal, but also full of beauty and meaning. From the very beginning, Amethyst was everything you hope for in a tattoo artist and more. She was incredibly responsive, warm, professional, and knowledgeable. There's a calm, poised energy about her that instantly puts you at ease--especially if you're someone who finds the whole tattoo process a little intimidating (which, let's be real, a lot of us do). She walked us through every step with clarity and care, making sure we felt comfortable and confident the entire time. Her shop was clean, stylish, and had such a cool, welcoming vibe. And the aftercare kit she gave us? So thoughtful and well put together--it really showed how much she cares about her clients beyond just the appointment. Getting a tattoo is a permanent decision, and finding someone you trust with that is not easy. But Amethyst is absolutely worth that trust. Whether you're local to Vegas or just visiting like we were, she is 100% worth it. 12/10 experience--no notes
