Shrimp & Grits Bacon, Egg & Cheese pancakes Apple filling French Toast

I enjoyed my time at The Brunch Gods. I was going to be in Baltimore for the morning and decided to give this place a try. The staff were very professional and accommodating. I made a mistake when ordering online and I immediately texted the restaurant to see if they could accommodate my change of order date; they responded quickly and was able to accommodate the update. I really appreciated this communication, customer service and willingness to support the customer. The food was great. I wasn't sure if and when I'd return so my wife and I purchased three items; shrimp and grits, apple filling French toast, and the bacon (turkey), egg and cheese pancakes. When we go to a place for the first time we usually order multiple items in the menu in order to have an opportunity to review many items in the event we never return to the restaurant. The food tastes good, was great quality and hot. I'll admit I was a bit skeptical because I had never experienced eggs, bacon and cheese inside of pancakes, so I went into the first bite very cautious however I was quickly reminded why I wanted to give this place a shot when I first saw the photos and video on the IG page. The real-life presentation is similar to online. These pancakes are so delicious. I feel like my preference moving forward is pancakes with protein filling of some sort. I'm not sure why it took me so long to finally try pancakes like these. I also was skeptical of the turkey bacon because I'm not an avid fan of it, however if they didn't tell you it was turkey bacon you would never know. The texture and taste was similar to pork bacon and I guess it's because all bacon takes on a similar texture once cooked in a wet batter. My wife and I talked about this and how the pancakes really didn't require much syrup, if any at all, because the pancakes were very flavorful and moist given the combination of ingredients. The shrimp and grits were very thick and cheesy just how I like. The apple-filling French toast was very good and it seems every week they change the French toast filling to offer variety. Overall a very good food experience. I wish these guys were open more often during the week. We'll be back soon. Good job, guys!

Updated because I have tried new items... 5 stars for ALL items. Everything was flavorful and so gooood! Each meal was split into 2 meals for me because of the nice portion size. Awesome black owned business! Crab ball fries: The God's sauce is amazing. They make their own fries and you can definitely taste the difference between places using frozen fries. Catfish and grits: The catfish and greens are seasoned so well and perfectly cooked. The greens were a surprise to me because I didn't know it came with it. Both items go well over the grits. Shrimp and grits: I like how the sauce goes with the grits. I normally do not eat grits without cheese, but you don't need to add cheese to this meal. It is perfect as is. It is a little spicy, not nothing major... I'm not a spicy food fan so if I say little spicy, it is likely not spicy for spicy food lovers. Crab mac & cheese: very cheesy like I like it, best way to upgrade mac & cheese to me is to add crab! Being from MD I'm extra when it comes to crab lol I like it added to every meal

~ I enjoyed my breakfast from The Brunch Gods. I had this place on my " to do " list for at least two months. Always forgot to place my order tho. I had the peach bourbon wings meal with double mac & cheese, along with the Cajon shrimp & grits. I ordered the chicken because I wanted to try something different in life. To my surprise, they were on point. Mac & Cheese was good as well. I was looking to get my true satisfaction from the Cajon shrimp & grits tho. I wasn't disappointed, but it didn't blow me away. (pause). Nice size shrimp. Wasn't selfish with them either. I didn't quite catch the "Cajon" flavor, but the grits' texture was cool as well. Not hard to locate the business, but you'll be a little hesitant since they share the location with other places. Not bad, I'll be back to try different items for sure. ~

I really enjoyed the peach cobbler French toast and my daughter had the banana pudding French toast, which she enjoyed thoroughly. I didn't like the bourbon chicken wings.

The Brunch Gods do a pop up on Sundays in East Baltimore. The Pop Up is pre-order but also allows you to order via Door Dash on the day of. The menu changes week to week so that they can offer a variety of dishes. After following their IG page, I took a leap and made pre-order. I ordered the Tereyaki Garlic Noodles with shrimp, the Apple French Toast with a side of bacon, and the Peach Bourbon wings. Everything was good but my fave was the Garlic Noodles. I didn't have a lot of sauce but the flavor was so good. Overall, they have good food, decent portion sizes, and good prices. I'm definitely ordering again this weekend.

I come to this area of Little Italy about every six weeks. been to Culinary Architecture twice now…read more Today I had a salmon roll with sides of fruit and salad and a citrus ginger tea. Oh my goodness -absolutely superb flavors, freshness, and ambiance. the sauce that came with the salmon roll was a very special treat!! It is immediately evident that quality ingredients are a primary focus and I appreciate that. - selections on the menu are unique and memorable. Service wise, it was very pleasant to not be rushed to eat and go - a lovely area for great food and conversation. They also have a grocery area, as well as some unusual gifts. I will return!!

Their new location is BIGGER and BETTER than ever! The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. Wondering if they'll be getting more of that yummy snack or seasoning you picked up there last week? Ask them! They're always happy to get things back in stock if you want them to (supply chain permitting, of course). If they don't have it or can't get it, they'll help you figure out where you should be able to get it. I watched one of the owners spend 10-15 min with a customer trying to find a couple of specific ingredients for a dish they were planning on making that night. The owner called another local store to ask if they had those items in stock and then gave the customer full directions to drive there from Culinary Architecture. Besides their excellent selection of packaged goods and produce, the food and drinks they make in-house are also exceptionally good! Sweet treats? Meat (and No-Meat) pies? Bread? Caffeine fix? They have it all, with a solid selection of staple recipes and a rotating menu of new/seasonal items! With the natural light, warm smells, and big community table with different chair choices right up front, you'll feel right at home here. Convenient parking and outdoor seating available, too! Come check 'em out in Little Italy! (BONUS: A lil lady named Pokey... You'll know her when you meet her. )

We used Classic to cater our wedding. To be honest, we feel a bit mixed about the experience. TLDR:…read morewe wound up giving four stars because although our bar situation was a disaster, food is more important and the food was better than most other wedding food. The food - as foodies, we felt like Classic gave us very good wedding food (but it fell short of very good restaurant food). During our tasting, we were pretty blown away by the food -- all the flavors were excellent and all the food was perfectly cooked. Day of, a lot of the food was overcooked, and things were under sauced, so we missed a lot of the flavors from our tasting. The food was certainly better than most other weddings I've been to, but if I would have gotten the food at a restaurant I would have been disappointed. I know it's really difficult to cook in bulk. (FWIW though, people really loved the mashed potatoes -- and were still talking about them a week later.) We were also extremely pleased with how Classic handled dietary restrictions. We had a number of people with restrictions, and everyone was able to eat, and no one got sick. They even worked with us to make our whole menu gluten free so that all of our (many) celiac guests could partake. The drinks - our drinks were a disaster. And I think part of this is because our catering manager switched just a few months before the wedding. Our original catering manager had allowed us to create our own cocktail recipes. We love mixology so it felt very fitting for our wedding. We wanted our wedding to feel like a cocktail bar and not just have the standard wedding cocktail. However, our new catering manager pretty much lost her mind when she heard this, saying it's never done. Our conversations were weird, and we never figured out what the issues were so we assumed it was reluctance to do something different and thought they'd figure it out. However, it seems the issues were the bartenders can barely make a drink. Although we sent VERY specific recipes, i think only one of the bartenders followed them. The first drink I was given when I came down to my cocktail hour was supposed to be a lavender chamomile play on a French 75. But what I was actually given was lemon juice, soda, and gin. I literally spit it out, and had a mild panic attack that my guests were being served undrinkable drinks for our whole cocktail hour. It turns out, that only one bartender was making undrinkable drinks (and they continued to for most of the evening). Another one was making ok drinks, and one was making drinks correctly. No one could remember which bartender was making which drinks, so everyone remarked how inconsistent our drinks were. A number of times people had to toss drinks because they picked the wrong bartender. I was also pretty pissed that although we had confirmed with our planner and classic a half a dozen times that they would pass drinks during cocktail hour, they never did. Afterwards my planner said it was because the drinks were too complicated. But they could have passed wine, or beer, or prebatched drinks (which we thought they were doing). We really didn't want a line at the bar, and there was one, so a month later, I'm still fuming about the disaster that was the bar. I think had we had more time, or better communication from the new catering manager, we could have worked something out that would have worked for us and them. But, instead, trying not to piss us off, I think she gave in knowing they couldn't hold up their end of the bargain. The service - the service (aside from the bar and our catering manager) was good. All the catering staff were very kind, and rushed like crazy to finish our room flip. We appreciated that they designate one server just for the bride and groom! The process - Our process was a bit of a mess because of the catering manager flip. But, were it not for that, I think it would have gone pretty smoothly. Classic are def pros at putting on events. We were happy with the process before the switch. Afterwards, we didn't really jive with the new catering manager, who was much more rigid than the original one. We might have been less off put by this, but, she also wasn't great at communicating the reasons behind her "nos" or "yes, with reservations". Our planner had told us that your classic experience very much depends on your catering manager, and based on our experience with two of them, that seems accurate.
