This place was so fun! We went Saturday morning with a group of 7 and only had to wait like 15-20 min for a table. I was so impressed! I came here on a Saturday, when it was really busy. We had to wait a while for a table. When we were seated, it was at a small table in the middle of the room. There was so little space that the waiters constantly hit the back of our chairs as they passed by. The food came fairly quickly. We ordered the Corned Beef Hash and an omelette. Unfortunately, it had a lot of red cabbage in it which somehow managed to overpower the potatoes and corned beef (and turn the whole dish a purple tint). The omelette was good. A large crowd of 20+ people came in while we were waiting. They knew the owner and got right in pushing the wait time of dozens of parties behind, including ours. Once seated we waited 20 minutes for a barista to come by and let us know that our server couldn't help us. The gross part. Hygiene: The hostess was petting dogs in and out of the restaurant. Don't be fooled by its location, attached to an Urgent Care clinic! This place is amazing! Homey, small-town feel, personal and welcoming staff. Their coffee is a work of art. I want to love this place since it's so cute inside and everything *looks* good. Unfortunately, the looks don't match the taste, and the food might not be completely sanitary... I've visited 3x and EACH time I witnessed staff not wearing gloves when handling food -- gross! The main perpetrators are the pastry staff. When a customer buys something they'll use a tong to grab their food item, but when the customer leaves they'll restock or reorganize the food items using their bare hands! I was shocked to witness this multiple times over. They definitely need to be trained in food handling and sanitation. As for the taste of the food, everything I've ordered has sadly lacked flavor. I've tried their carrot cake, a jelly filled pastry, their french toast, omelettes, bacon, and waffles. Nothing was outstanding; everything was ho-hum or bland. Sadly, I ordered the french toast to go and when I got home, about to chow down, I discovered it was completely burnt and inedible. Pretty upsetting considering how expensive this place is. The Brunch House is definitely overpriced considering the subpar quality of the food and the lack of sanitation with food handling. Even getting a small glass of fresh OJ was $4+!
