My main issues are that the building just takes and takes and doesn't give. From the time I moved in, the apt that I had looked at and was told I would move into was different and dirty when I moved in. It was not given to me in move in condition. The floors were raised and not even nailed in properly. The apartment was covered in dirt and only part of the apartment was painted. The marble in the bathroom was stained yellow and disgusting. I tried to refuse move in but this was the only option. I had to argue back in fourth with Vebbi about getting new floors and he did not give me new floors. What he did do and told me is "they switched the flooring they used and my apt is not eligible for new floors so he had to find leftover wood from old apts to Put in my apartment. I don't even know how that's hygienic. It's disgusting to be honest. Now I just signed another lease for more money because it was too much trouble to move and I asked for new floors because there was a water leak and looked like there was like there. He did the same thing, just gave me old damaged wood. There are no window screens which makes it super dirty and bugs get in during spring and summer. There are major issues with the AC and washer and dryer. The pet amenity, one of the reasons I stayed was not hygienic either. I sent my dog there in December when all of these other dogs got sick and spent thousands of dollars that month on vet bills because my dog got giardia fr other dogs peeing in water fountain. They finally fixed the water fountain. I know I am not the only one as I talk to all of the dog parents and have made friends in the building. They all complain about maintenance manager. I want to be clear that Nelson and Chris are wonderful. Everyone complains about the same things, washer dryer, floors, no window screens, dirty building, piles of trash in trash room and amenities not working.

I have lived in this building for approximately ten years and have seen management transition from…read morethe prior generation of the landlord's family to its current leadership. In my experience, the quality of the resident experience and management responsiveness has declined substantially over that period. The building is marketed as a "luxury rental," but I do not believe the day-to-day experience lives up to that description. The lobby may create a strong first impression, but many of the building's underlying systems and resident services feel dated, unreliable, or poorly managed. The elevators are original to the building's late-1960s construction and are frequently out of service, sometimes for days at a time. I understand that management has begun an elevator-modernization project, but residents have been told it may take roughly three more years to complete. When an elevator is out, waits can become long at virtually any time of day. If reliable elevator service is important to you, particularly if you have a busy schedule, mobility concerns, children, or regularly receive deliveries, this is a serious issue to consider before renting here. The in-unit HVAC convectors are, in my view, undersized and often inadequate for properly cooling apartments during the summer. If you prefer to sleep in a room below 70 degrees, you may find the cooling capacity insufficient. The building also uses an older two-pipe HVAC system, which means it cannot provide heat and air conditioning simultaneously. During warm periods in the spring or fall, residents may have no access to air conditioning because the building has not yet switched over from heat. Management's suggested solution has been for tenants to purchase portable air-conditioning units themselves. This past Spring, after several unusually warm days, more than 40 tenants reportedly purchased portable air conditioning units. For a building promoted as luxury housing, asking residents to supplement the building's cooling system at their own expense is disappointing. Management recently renovated the basement and added an amenity center. Before the renovation, the building had only a small, windowless gym that residents could use without charge. The new space includes a somewhat larger but still windowless gym, as well as a playroom, chef's kitchen, and work areas - all located in the basement. Access to the gym and amenities now costs $100 per month. I do not believe the space or offerings justify that fee, particularly when many comparable luxury rentals include a fitness center as part of the rent. At minimum, access to the gym should be free of charge. If complimentary, well-appointed amenities are important to you, I would look carefully at competing buildings before committing here. The package process is another persistent frustration. Packages are delivered to a basement package room rather than directly to apartments. Residents receive an email once building staff have checked in the delivery, but notification can be delayed significantly; a package may arrive around noon and not be available for pickup until the next day. Packages are sometimes difficult to locate, and lines can be especially long in the evenings between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Waiting 20 minutes or more to retrieve a package is not unusual. For tenants paying premium Manhattan rents, the package experience feels unnecessarily inefficient and below the level one should reasonably expect. My experience with leasing and renewal negotiations has also been difficult since new Management took over. Rent increases have often felt excessive and inflexible, with renewal discussions focused almost entirely on maximizing rent rather than retaining long-term tenants or addressing legitimate resident concerns. Prospective tenants should not assume that typical, modest annual increases will be offered at renewal. In my experience, increases beginning around 10-11% have been presented as the starting point, and substantially higher increases have also occurred - sometimes more than 30%! The doormen and maintenance staff are generally kind, professional, and helpful. They work hard and are not the source of my concerns. The apartments are relatively spacious for Manhattan and generally offer good closet space. Unfortunately, for me, those positives do not outweigh the elevator problems, HVAC limitations, package-room experience, amenity fees, and renewal process. After nearly a decade in the building, I expect to move when my current lease expires. I would encourage prospective renters to tour carefully, ask tenants, NOT MANAGEMENT direct questions about elevator reliability, HVAC changeover dates, package handling, amenity fees, and likely renewal increases, and compare the full resident experience - not just the lobby or apartment layout with other buildings in the area.

I lived in this building for one year in a renovated unit on a high floor, between the 20th and 30th floors. Even at that height, the balcony/window door was extremely poorly insulated. Street noise came through constantly and made it very difficult to sleep. In the winter, the exterior glass door also did not feel properly sealed: cold air came through the door area, making the apartment uncomfortable, inefficient, and expensive to heat. For a renovated unit in a luxury rental building, the soundproofing and insulation were shockingly poor. The package system was another major issue. Packages were not handled in a clear, reliable, or well-documented way. Compared with other full-service rental buildings where deliveries are logged and traceable, this building's package process felt disorganized and unreliable. Packages could be hard to locate, and there was not a strong proof-of-delivery or tracking process from the resident side. My worst experience happened after I moved out, when a package was accidentally delivered to this building. After confirming my identity, the staff gave me the box, but it turned out to be extremely large and heavy -- roughly a cubic meter in size and too heavy for one person to lift. I asked if I could borrow a small cart just to move it a very short distance from the tiny lobby to the curb, where I had arranged transportation. The response was not just unhelpful; it was dismissive and rude. I was told that because I no longer lived there, they could not or would not help. When I asked whether someone could help me move it just to the curb, that was also refused. The interaction escalated into rude, sarcastic comments from a male staff member in the lobby, which was completely inappropriate for a building marketed as a luxury rental. This was not an isolated impression. I also know of another former resident who had important government-related mail/documents still in process after moving out and asked the building for limited help receiving them. They were also refused in a similarly rigid and unhelpful way. I understand that buildings have policies, but there is a difference between having a policy and treating former residents with hostility or zero basic courtesy. For prospective renters: the unit may look renovated during a tour, but pay close attention to the balcony/window sealing, noise, winter insulation, package process, and the attitude of the front desk/management team. A luxury building is not just new finishes -- it is also basic professionalism, reliable operations, and respectful treatment of residents. Based on my experience, this building fell very short of that standard and reflects poorly on the Stonehenge brand.

I was annoyed that we owed an additional $10 oversize charge for our mid-sized SUV when we arrived. But I think it was still a decent price overall. Don't think we got a deal through Spot Hero but booking in advance did reserve our spot when the city was quite busy over the holidays. Dropoff was smooth at this covered and staffed garage (staffed 24 hours!). And our wait at pickup wasn't too long. Since we'd already paid, it was a quick tip and departure. I'd definitely park there again.
