We can only "complain" about the WiFi, rug and shower pressure... The connection was very slow as we were in the last room away from the access point. For us, that's a big deal. The rug felt damp like it was recently washed and hadn't tried in the entire day/evening we were there (didn't smell or anything) the shower, when others were using it also, there was barely enough water to rinse entirely. Not a huge deal, it worked fine after a few minutes. The room we had was spacious. They didn't have a room phone no biggie because we never use them anyways. Overall, I liked it. Motel has security cameras and it felt safe. I especially liked the retro style it had! Decent price and about 30-45 mins from Amish country!

There are several structures throughout the BNB, we stayed in the Pond House in the Fats Hollow Room. The room had a beautiful view of the fountain and the pond, there is even a little row boat! The large king sized bed was super comfortable and the décor in shades of blue was very soothing. The owners are incredibly hospitable to their guests and made us feel so welcome. The check in area also serves as the "dining room" for the incredible breakfast served daily. I loved the snacks, coffee and soft drinks that are available. Breakfast was a TREAT! Homemade cinnamon rolls, crunchy fresh granola and Greek yogurt then a hearty spread of delicious sausage links, thick sourdough toast, fresh fruit (cut into delightful shapes) and a brown butter omelet. So satisfying and fresh. We raved about it for a bit! (The fresh preserves were a hit also) The location is so convenient to Longwood (which we visited), wineries and restaurants. Literally perfect. Husband booked us the bedroom with two twin beds and it was a experience of wicker, flowered bedspreads and bunnies who may have seen too much. To be fair, it was reminiscent of my Grandmother's bedroom when I was a kid but we thought it was fun and rolled with it. Breakfast was wonderful and inclusive of so many things - the grilled pineapple was fantastic. Despite only staying one night, Chip invited us to return during the next day if we needed anything - it kinda felt like we were staying with family. The owners were very friendly and engaging, the food was delicious, and the room was comfortable. The dining room and living area were cozy yet roomy and decorated beautifully for the holidays. Mike also gave us a lot of great recommendations for places we hadn't been to yet to visit and eat in the area. They were very accommodating to our 6 year old daughter who has already requested that we stay there again next year!

The hotel is beautifully updated and charming with a historical flare that matches the surrounding area. The bar was very lively and the bartenders were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful to us. One bartender even talked to my husband for a while about whiskey and let him try one he wanted to sample before buying a glass. The bed was comfortable, the shower was luxurious, and the front desk staff were great. Even with it being a weekend where there was a soccer match tournament and kids were running around everywhere it still did not disturb us in the hotel. The only downside was we had a bit of a walk from the parking garage to the hotel in wedding attire and it was raining. But, overall it was great the parking was free and enclosed in a safe area so no complaints there. Overall, I enjoyed the whole experience and I will be back if I visit West Chester again.

It pains me greatly to downgrade the Inn from its previously lofty perch as the near-perfect…read moreno-fuss hotel to merely adequate, and at the price, not such a great deal anymore. What confused me during our stay was we had two rooms, one an accessible room on the third floor, and the other a queen double on the second. I have stayed in both these areas before. The accessible room seemed unchanged. The second floor was very odd. First off, the fantastic soundproofing seems to have vanished -- at least, inside the hotel. The outside is still inaudible, as it was built to shield guests from the sounds of trains. But inside? I could hear our neighbors talk, I could hear their alarms, I could hear the elevator ding and the machinery (it was four doors down, so not that close). There were odd sounds from machinery in the walls and the HVAC systems I don't remember. Then we had a weekend with basically no hot water and no water pressure. Oh, the water trickled out, but it did so at a very tepid temperature and with less pressure than even any water-restricted California shower I've ever seen. I've never ever had such a problem here before. Then a local friend said they'd had renovations and added capacity. Did they -- gut the rooms and subdivide? That would account for the fact the room seemed smaller than I remembered; it would account for having lost the internal soundproofing but not the external, if they did a terrible job at the renovation; and perhaps they didn't bother to upgrade the floor hot water heater (our family member in the accessible room on the third floor did not seem to have this problem), or the plumbing capacity, and what we were getting was water at low pressure after everybody else on the floor had used it. (Although I had the same problem the middle of the day Saturday as I did Saturday and Sunday morning). I won't hold the pathetic EV charger situation against the Inn per se, since it apparently is a college problem: the chargers are limited to four hours! At a slow level 2 J-1772, this meant we got about 15% charge a day. This is ludicrous. I am willing to pay for the charge (the four hours a day is free) if I can, you know, actually charge the car. Limiting it to four hours on the basis of demand is pointless; all the spots were filled on Friday, and none of them charging, because it turns out they were all occupied by staff members of the college who went home at the end of the day and occupied the spot for eight hours, charging only four. The college's commitment to EVs seems -- I can't use a word that expresses this properly. Inconsistent with its avowed Zero by 2035 goals. (All the chargers on campus are the same, and there aren't that many of them, plus you can't use them if you're a visitor, anyway.) The location is perfect if you are visiting the college, but there's a lot going wrong here right now and I'm very, very disappointed. The staff are still extremely nice (especially housekeeping) so I can't downgrade it all the way, but this is worse than the Hampton Inn in Media now, for half again as much each night. There's only so much I'm willing to pay for location.
