I feel great after I leave and love not having to think about or plan out my work-out. I really like the entire concept. I also love that the workouts really can cater to any fitness level, so don't be weary if you feel as though you aren't a top notch cross-fit competitor for example to come. The coaches are amazing. I particularly love the class led by Blake. He was my coach with my trial class and definitely persuaded me to join and seriously plays the BEST music! You certainly have to schedule and plan ahead with classes, which are a little pain if you have a somewhat of a chaotic schedule that isn't always in routine. The pro however is you stay committed to going as there is a charge for cancellation outside of an 8-hour window. I do have to say that some classes do give a "Real Housewives of..." type of vibe. This is of course is no fault of the studio, staff members or coaches what so ever. Simply an observation regarding the clientele at times. Earlier this week a woman was seriously ready to kill me because she thought I was going to hop onto a treadmill reserved for her friend. Yikes.

Case in point, on day one the owner diagnose an issue that I was having with my form for one of the Olympic, weightlifting movements, which another gym in the areas coaches hadn't noticed for seven months, and had led to an injury. Day one Joe diagnosed the problem and it was fixed without me even asking!There are two sides of the gym, dedicated for electric weightlifting on one side, and the other side, high intensity, interval training. This shit is easily accessible, clean, and has easy parking. It is not a globo gym, nor is it simply an iron fitness. There is space for what you need if it's a casino workout, or you're dropping in for open gym or individual weightlifting session. Coaches run classes on time, one hour, which is not the experience that I have had other community style gyms in the past in the area. American flag over the door, attentive coaches and community, never asking for reviews online (a great plus!), accessible in ten minutes or less from JBLM, Lakewood, all the way up to Ruston. Dustin, Jake, Jeremy, Rae, and many other instructors have helped me so much in learning all the right technique and encouraging me to never give up. All the members are so friendly and motivating. Many of the members would come up to me and introduce themselves even after a sweaty and tough workout. Everyone is so encouraging, which makes me give my 100% every WOD. CrossFit is definitely a good workout when you want to get sweaty in less than an hour. It incorporates both strength training and cardio, which is perfect for me. And they have some good pump-up music which is a plus :) I love the environment here, and I will miss everyone who has been part of my CrossFit journey.

Jake has a way of making you feel like instant family. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. CFD has fantastic coaches that are L1/L2 trained and focus on form, not just increasing the weight on the bar. They work with the entire spectrum. From beginners to advanced athletes, kids to 80 year olds and everything in between. The coaches are able to easily pivot and modify workouts to your individual needs. They are known within the Crossfit community for their competitions - girls comp, couples comp, etc and always put on a great comp. Highly recommend stopping by for a WOD or joining the CFD family!

Jake and Jared run an amazing, friendly, welcoming and clean gym with coaches that know how to push and hype you up. I also don't think I've ever seen a community as supportive of each other as the members and staff of CFD. On their personal training side, Austin is an excellent personal trainer (and coach) that has a plan for each of your sessions, explains what you're doing and why, as well as hyping you up during your workout. For reasons I won't mention, that wasn't a good fit. I was hesitant to join a cross fit gym because while I want the workout I don't want the chaos that comes with It. Instead I found a close knit community with a range of ages that all have the same goal in mind. My first encounter with SSP was a Saturday morning Metabolic Conditioning class. For someone who doesn't really know her way around weights & equipment and was def more out of shape than the other folks there, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Everyone was SO friendly and made me feel like I was joining a community as soon as I walked through the door. Throughout the entire hour, Ro led our class of about 10-15 people through a series of high-intensity interval training workouts and made sure we were all appropriately pushed to our limits. Every exercise was super form-focused and accessible to different skill levels and abilities. I may have felt like I needed to vom and/or pass out a couple of times but, more than anything, I was v proud of myself for challenging my body. Since that class, I have returned and worked out with a number of the other trainers (Meg, Ana, and Jay) who are all equally attentive, encouraging, and just the best. The exercises they prepare are always tough, fun, and never the same. I never thought I'd be one to use kettlebells, TRX, and battle ropes but here I am, getting a little stronger every time I go to SSP. I often think about how miserable I was with my virtually nonexistent exercise routine about a year ago and am so glad that I found this gym. SSP is helping me love and prioritize my fitness again and I couldn't be more grateful!

The folks here are low-pressure but seem to adapt to what you want and what goals you are looking to achieve. I see all types and ages here. They have the traditional weights, kettle balls but go further with the various programs they offer. I am the fittest I have been in my life after just a few short weeks. This place is the best gym I have ever belonged to.
