What is the average cost for this gym?

Hey Irene! Your first class is on us if you're a local to the Maple Valley area, after you take the class we give you all of the information since each membership is personalized to you! Give us a call and we can get you set up to earn those splat…

What is the average age bracket of the clients? Is it a room full of young, tight-clad hard bodies? Anyone out there in their 50's or 60's that can give me a feel for that environment?

It depends on which time of day that you go, but in every class I would say there's at least 2 or 3 people over the age of 50. Most members are around 35 on average I would guess.

The programs at Lifestyle Medicine have transformed my life. I've spent the majority of my life…read moreseverely overweight, and though I managed to lose a good portion of it by the time I hit my early 30's, I still wasn't moving my body enough. As a result, I had a lot of general soreness and a limited range of motion in my knees, shoulders, and lower back, which led me to seek help with one of Lifestyle Medicine's physical therapists (PT), Morgan, at their Renton location in May of 2023. Morgan was amazing from day one. She is a skilled and knowledgeable care provider that makes a genuine effort to listen to her patients and their needs. She helped me build confidence in my abilities, motivated me, and inspired me to keep moving forward. After a few months, as I started to improve, I integrated into their Bridge program, which added support from an exercise specialist (ES) on top of my PT appointments. As the name would suggest, this program was the bridge that allowed me to graduate out of PT while still having regular support with exercise, as well as an accountability partner. It meant that when I didn't need PT anymore, I didn't stop making progress - I still had the support I needed. I met with an ES twice a week who took me through a variety of workouts, helping me build strength and showing me how to add exercise into my week in a way that worked for me. After Bridge, In December of 2023, I moved into their Lifestyle 365 program. Admittedly, I was most nervous about this transition. In this program, you're still meeting with an ES, but now they're building workouts for you to do on your own time. I was nervous about, what felt like, losing my accountability partner - about whether I'd still keep showing up if I knew there wasn't someone there waiting for me to arrive. In the end, what it's actually done is give me a lot more flexibility, while still having a support system to lean on when I need it. This process, moving between each program based on where I was at in my journey, has taught me how to love moving my body for the first time in my 35 years of life. I no longer drag my feet or have to spend time convincing myself to go to the gym - it's a part of my routine that I've learned to enjoy. Overall, there are a lot of things that set this place apart; it is not your typical gym experience. Anyone who has lived their life in a bigger body knows the hesitations that can come with going to the gym or doing any sort of physical activity in a public space; the fear of judgement, the cruelty people can carelessly dole out, and the shame of feeling like you don't belong. And although I was sitting with all those fears, I've never had those experiences at Lifestyle Medicine. Each person you encounter is not just someone who is passionate about health and fitness - they're specialized healthcare professionals who truly want to help you find the right solution for your specific health needs. They listen, they care, and they're excellent at what they do. I'll also note that one of my biggest hesitations about working with an ES in these programs was that the majority of the current care providers in this role are young, active, and male - a demographic that does not always inspire comfort for younger women in bigger bodies seeking support in the fitness realm. And though I work with Graham out of their Maple Valley clinic, I've had an opportunity to meet each of the specialists at their three locations and they're all genuinely wonderful people that help you find the things that work for you, encourage you along the way, and make you part of a community that inspires hope. I'm genuinely not sure I'll ever stop being grateful for how Morgan, Graham, and the Lifestyle 365 program have changed my life. It's been over 8 months of consistency and I've never felt better, more capable, or more excited about the future of my health and well-being. Thank you to everyone at Lifestyle Medicine for all you do to empower people to take control of their health and make lasting, positive changes for a happier, healthier future.

I don't get in there as often as I would or should. BUT don't let that stop YOU!! The coaches, the staff, the whole vibe and environment will encourage you and KICK YOUR BUTT!! But the sense of accomplishment feels so good afterwards. It's done in a group setting, where it's dark, loud, but the coaches are louder ... and they show you several ways to complete the reps depending on your level of fitness. There's tons I can say about the individual coaches, and sadly, some of them come and go but it seems that with new talents and recruits they still maintain a family vibe! So if you're looking for something different than a typical gym, looking for coaches or nutritionists to hold you accountable and offer tons of support and encouragement, then THIS is YOUR place. They have fun events, challenges, and outings if you're looking to add these adventures to your life. If you're looking for lifestyle change then, EAT THE FROG... I dare you!

The person in there that was helping was really rude and provided customer poor customer service. The male, was mistaking as someone else, he said "that asking for quarters yesterday, is not going to help you". Acting like I am poor. First off that was my first ever checking and being inside the gym. That did not sit well with me. Honestly, I would much rather go to a LA or 24, or even Planet Fitness lol. I would not recommend this place if you're looking to get a passion for working out.

I have had PT numerous times throughout my life due to sports injuries and surgeries. This experience of having PT in my own home with his undivided attention was unsurpassed. This was also during peak quarantine season and I have yet to see his full face because he has been extremely professional about wearing full face mask and disinfecting everything upon entering the home before I touch it. He was extremely knowledgeable about how everything in the body is connected and I learned so much about my nerves, fascias, muscles, tendons, and everything in between. I was able to get used to having a space in my home that I actually use to do my exercises in and that in and of itself was one of the most notable differences than going to a PT place, where I get put on a bike to warm up, them they come show me an exercise, then leave while I do them. He warms me up on his PT table with light stretches and massage and taught me how to correctly do a series of easy to replicate excercises that were much easier on my body than traditional strengthening exercises. I highly recommend this at home or custom workout area experience from Zach or his partner to anyone.
