I've taken my children numerous times and even brought them a baby tortoise we found wandering down the alley behind a pizza place. We most recently went for their Enchanted Hallow's Eve. Each room was decorated with a different theme, from Inside Out to pirates to Star Wars. It was so well done with fun trick or treat stations along the way. Take a tour, support the animals, and adopt, don't shop!

It's not a big place, but they've got plenty to see in the small little two-floor building they have overlooking the beach at the end of the pier. We saw sharks, different types of fish, many starfish, and jellyfish. They also have a pretty decent-sized touch tank. We easily spent a good 45 minutes just looking at all sea life and learning about the sea creatures that roam the beach. Kids loved every minute of it, and I had a blast watching them enjoy themselves. It's not the Long Beach Aquarium by any means but is amazing for what it is and the small size that it is. Worth checking out anytime you're here visiting the beach.

Just be cautious if you're wearing any sunscreen. I'm not sure if it does any harm but I erred on the side of caution. They have an upstairs but can get tight with not a lot of room if many come at a time. They do have a way to bring up wheelchairs and strollers but you will need the assistance of staff. My favorite tank was the one with the eels in it. I can't remember the fish names but there's a big funky-looking fish in it. I think it was a parrotfish. It's free to enter but please leave a donation if you can.

We were limited in space with the bounce house, seating for 60, adopt an animal balloon farm and all the food and beverages. But they made it work! They set up on the side and brought goats, pot bellied pigs (my son's favorite,) bunnies and chickens. They were great. A year ago, we did the bunny zoo and then decided to upgrade to the small petting zoo with mini animals. Cutest ever. We had larger bunnies and baby bunnies, a mini pig, mini goat, ducks, and chicks. The goat kept busting out of his little area and my kids were cracking up. It was a really easy booking experience and they were happy to make adjustments with timing up until the end. Serena captivated the attention of 13 seven year old girls (plus a two year old sister!) and had them swimming and playing for a joyful hour and a half. The kids were entranced and every single parent complimented Serena and her ability to manage and entertain the kids with a feeling of happiness and calm presiding over the party. On your way to the entrance , there are lots of vendors: food, aqua Fresca, clothing, hats, umbrellas, etc! So if you forget something at home, You'll be fine! Inside the zoo, there's a coffee bean truck, dippin dots, ice cream trucks , plenty of spots to purchase food , drinks, snacks, and refreshments. I saw a few grills and cafes as well. Overall look of the zoo echos many reviews left on Yelp, of it being run down and looking old and needing some maintenance. One thing to point out, the staff at ticketing gate didn't check my purse or diaper bag.... I would think just for security measures they would check pockets and bags. There is an area for kids / playground. There's also a small area where you can get up close with Vietnamese pigs and brush goats! There were no horses, elephants, or lions. I liked the how the zoo created an environment where it felt like we were traveling to Africa or North America , or Asia! I really like the Asian themed bamboos, and temple like structure! Not sure how this Zoo is still operating under the City. They should transfer all animals to other thriving zoos in the U.S. -- they deserve better! Nonetheless, we made a mistake going here. It was not good at all! Btw, the women's bathroom door locks have SCREWS as the lock handle . So ghetto.
