Just opened for lunch hours. This is our first visit. The food is pub themed and the menu is simple but tasty. We have the Crispy Chicken Sandwich, smash burger, and soft pretzels. The chicken was exceptional. The soft pretzels were delicious especially the beer mustard aioli sauce... a must try. Service was helpful, timely, and thorough. The establishment is clean, and set in part of the old buggy factory-- blend of old and new. Highly recommend visit. We will return. read more

Totally disappointed. On a scale of 1-10 we'd rank this meal a 3. Our Classic Detroit pizza was terrible. A huge puddle of sauce in the middle, almost no noticeable cheese and a lingering burnt taste most apparent in the pepperoni. We also got Korean wings, and they were burnt to a crisp. We asked for the sauces so we could taste them both, but only got the spicy Korean sauce. The service was poor to say it politely. Our bill was $35 and we had to ask for change back from our $50. The lady who brought us our food ASSUMED we were tipping her $15 for a carry out order. We won't be going back. read more

My husband and I came here on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered 3 different apps-whipped ricotta, city skewers and the Korean fried chicken wings. No photos of food because we dived in too quickly! All 3 apps were delicious! I had the Victoria cocktail and the Pheaton-both excellent cocktails. The service/bartenders were excellent. This establishment will be in our regular rotation. Waited a couple of days before deciding to write this review. I really wanted to like this new bar restaurant. The decor and ambience it's very pleasant. That's about it. Ordered one pizza (classic Detroit)and appetizer (French dip)with one whiskey old fashioned and one draft duck hook. Pizza was extremely salty and the quality of what is served in some public schools. The French dip was good. The old fashioned was a short pour and she used several ice cubes. Small detail I know, but at 15 bucks a drink you want it right. Service seemed slow. Then when you receive the bill they automatically include 20% gratuity. They state this is done help insure a living wage. I dont tip to insure a business can pay living wages to their employees at my expense. I tip to insure prompt service. Which I didn't receive. This sense of entitlement will drive people away. I'm not returning. read more

I really really tried to love this place because I am a Carthage local and I got very excited that our downtown got a new spot to eat and hangout. Atmosphere was great and the building and ambiance is top! that part I give 5 stars. We went on a Friday night and there was a very talent singer that sang a variety of songs and played the guitar, although he was excellent it was extremely loud, so it was hard to have a dinner conversation. Service was good, given it's still a new restaurant. Now here is where I am disappoint, the food and drinks are extremely overpriced. I ordered the tomatoes pie with cheese, weird anyways that it doesn't come with cheese, and I received some sort of feta vs mozzarella or something that actually melts. The pizza was straight up horrible. I was offered a new one and accepted and picked the pepperoni instead. that one was much better but honestly not worth the almost $40 price tag for a large pizza! the ricotta dip and Caesar salad were great but also on the expensive side! the cocktails are also way too expensive for a small town like Carthage! $14-16 for a cocktail is Raleigh and Charlotte prices, not downtown Carthage! I likely won't be returning because I rather drive into So Pi and get better food and drinks for cheaper! read more

I hate to say that I was not impressed with this place! The service was not good, although I recognize they just opened and tried to give them some grace with that, but they automatically add 20% gratuity to your check. I ended up paying almost $70 for one small pizza and two cocktails at lunchtime. As someone from Raleigh, it baffles me that a restaurant in Carthage would charge me more than most places I would go in Raleigh! read more

We are in town for the US Open and looked for a local place with craft beer. Service was fast and friendly, and the Detroit style pizza and wings were awesome! You have to get the Korean bbq wings. The atmosphere was great and the Pinehurst Brewery beer went down very easily . Definitely a place to visit. read more

My husband and I have been twice now, the second time being today. We've had excellent service and great food. Today we realized that 20% gratuity is added on already, which I think is great. The first time we went this wasn't pointed out to us, so we tipped 40%. I think with this business model, you should move to no tips and change your prices. But overall, love the food! read more

I visited The Buggy Factory last week and really wanted to love the place! It's a beautiful space and the vibe is great, but I ordered The Green pizza (with prosciutto added) and received something totally different. I was the last in my party of 10 to receive my food, so when I pointed out to the server that the pizza didn't look like what I ordered, I said not to mind making another one and would deal with it, mainly because I didn't want to keep my coworkers waiting. I received a pizza with squash, zucchini, a very bland red bell pepper sauce and prosciutto folded onto the top. The server brought me a bowl of arugula doused with green goddess dressing and said I could add it to the top of the pizza. I could only eat one piece. It was definitely NOT what I ordered and the flavors were horrible together. I don't know of any restaurant that would charge you full price for their mistake, but the server actually tried to convince me that the pizza I received WAS the Green pizza. Then she presented the check for the full price. $21 was already going to be a steep price to pay for the pizza I ordered, but to pay that for the wrong pizza that tasted awful?? The server acted very defensive when I asked for a price adjustment- I had really expected that the whole pizza would be removed from the check, but I had to ASK for a price adjustment. She brought back the check showing a 25% discount- that was it. It wasn't the fact that I was served the wrong pizza, but it that she tried to convince me I was wrong! Horrible way to treat your customers when you're brand new, very overpriced and clearly in the wrong! Service was good. The 2 inch thick Detroit style pizza was the saltiest pizza I have ever tasted. It was like having some French bread with multiple layers of salty pepperonis. On top of the overly salty pizza they automatically charged 20% gratuity for a party of 4. Not even a large party. We had a waitress assigned to our table who was phenomenal, but it wasn't the normal waitress for that table, so they switched back to the normal waitress. I watched her walk around to every staff member and gossip and laugh rather than coming to check on her tables. The service is terrible, it was like our waitress couldn't have cared less. We had to go to the bar several times to ask for refills or new drinks. Waitress ignored us but checked her other tables every 5-10 minutes while we would wait every 20-30 minutes. We had a group of 6 adults and were stuck in the corner with a small couch made for two and two chairs. One person of our group had to stand for about 30 minutes after asking for an extra chair several times. We all ordered pizza and one salad, the food is mediocre at best, not to mention the horrible service with mandatory 20% tip included with the check. I've been waiting months for this place to open. My first experience at this place was getting pulled off my bar stool within 30 seconds of being there because I was supposed to check in with the hostess to be seated. There were 7 open bar stools and I was told I needed to wait 30 minutes because the bar counted as a regular table seat, and customers were waiting ahead of me. If there were customers waiting ahead of me they would be sitting in the 7 open seats at the bar already. I've never experienced a place where you can't openly sit at a bar. I'm not going to wait 30 minutes to sit at a bar with multiple open bar stools to order beer. Whoever is managing this place is making sure to run it in the ground as soon as possible with this garbage business philosophy. read more

I'm seeing the mixed reviews for this place and I can see why. Like others have said, knowing which entrance to go in is confusing. I would suggest making the front steps more ADA compliant. They are narrow (I'm sure from being an old building), but my visually impaired son could not distinguish one step from another. Maybe next time we'll just take the ramp on the side. My husband,son, and I were promptly seated and our waitress, Mia, came right over. The menu shows they have cocktails, beers, wines, and cider. They, indeed, do not have cider which I thought was weird as their other 2 locations serve James Creek ciders. Service was fine. It wasn't busy. Our waters were replenished initially, but once our food came, we had to ask for refills. My husband got the bulgogi sandwich and raved about it. I had the Caesar salad with chicken. The kale in it was so salty, I couldn't eat it. SALTY. Our son got the Classic Detroit. Oh, that crunchy outer crust and soft inside was divine. It, too, was really salty, though. It would be nice to see more toppings offered. Overall, it was a weird experience. We weren't sure what vibe they were going for. I'm guessing that, with time, they'll start to hone in that. I decided to see what all the buzz was about at the Buggy Factory in Carthage after hearing some good things online. I was expecting good service, reasonable prices, and a friendly atmosphere but after eating there, it was apparent that the Buggy Factory lacks all of the qualities. I find it odd that there is a 20% mandatory gratuity charge even for small parties, like me and my husband. I normally give 20% tips when it's deserved but let that be my choice. In this case, the waitress didn't deserve 20% as she was rude and not attentive. The bill stated the automatic tip was to give the staff a living wage. That should be the responsibility of the company to give a living wage, not the customers. We gave the food a chance, even though it was over-priced, and ordered a Classic Detroit pizza, a couple cocktails and City Skewers. The food tasted like it was warmed-up from being frozen. I wouldn't feed my dog the City Skewers pork which had a spot of green goddess dressing that we were supposed to dip it in. We won't be coming back. read more
