Update: this location is now The Bungalow, and under new ownership. More of a cafe style with lots of chairs and cozy areas to sit. They still have the bake goods, cakes, etc. Ordered the croissant breakfast sandwich, and it was okay. Staff is still very friendly! It was a bit warm inside, so sat outside on the patio tables.

I e been going to Palermo Bakery/ coffee shop for years but in the gap I missed coming in, I didn't know they were now under new ownership! Kelly and Raimey (I might be spelling her name wrong but she was so kind and hospitable) the vibes inside with the new furniture were very home like and relaxing. Perfect for a coffee date with friends or actual date as there's a cozy vibe for talking or catching up. The cappuccino I got was delicious and my sister and mother whom I gifted a cupcake and pretzel said they were delicious with their tea.

I like to go to Palermo Bakery and Grill for desserts or a latte. The owner is a Chef and Baker. He has a catering menu serving cold or hot entrees like Ham with all the fixings, Rosemary Chicken, Prime Rib with roasted potatoes or Lasagna with side dishes. The website will feature a special menu for holidays. The latest was for Mother's day. For more casual occasions, he can prepare a platter of croissant sandwiches, turkey club or my favorite panini. For my family, he prepared a full Thanksgiving dinner in June! We enjoyed savory turkey, creamy mashed potatoes, sage dressing, and a nice peppery gravy. When it comes to Thanksgiving, I get full before I can finish my entree. Not to worry, there was ample food for my family to have seconds, and I got leftovers for tomorrow (*:*) What are you waiting for, we have to eat every day. Enjoy food, leave the cooking to Palermo! Don't forget to tell 'em Rosemary sent ya!

    Cannolis

I recently stopped by this spot and picked up two cannolis, each priced at $4.50. Great taste and the perfect place to go to for a lunch break. They have wifi and their menu was very appealing to me. Cant wait to go back for a latte break and a cannoli with my mini. Pastries galore and great food options as well. Perfect for pick up orders or dining in. This location is super convenient for me, as it is walking distance from my home and I'd love to support a local business. Ample parking and outdoor sitting if you want to sunbathe a little.

This has to be the best Cobb salad that I have ever tasted! YUM! The quality of the food and customer service never disappoints. Everything is made in house and is fresh and tasty. ALSO, PET FRIENDLY! They have homemade doggy treats on the counter every time I come in. Absolutely love this place!

It was really cute inside nicely decorated. Very nice couple owners were there. Offered us a complimentary extra sandwich because it was a slow day. So nice!! We got the vegan breakfast sandwich with the "sausage" and avocado. it was amazing! Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. Iced matcha with soymilk was good 8/10 might ask for some simple syrup to make it sweeter though. Everything made fresh there. Definitely will be back again when I'm in town! Awesome bakery

Heard about this place from a friend and it didn't disappoint! Food was really good and the place feels very comfy. Workers are very nice and gave some good suggestions on what foods and sweets to try.

Creme Brulee Cheesecake, sesame cookie, pistachio cookie, strawberry jam cookie
    Janelle P.

Came for some pastries after going to the park, got the creme brulee cheese cake, strawberry jam cookie, pistachio cookie, and sesame cookie! The creme brulee cheesecake is to die for! Sweet, and creamy, with a soft consistency. The creme brulee itself is cripsy and pairs well with the cheesecake! They also provide a good amount so you can keep eating to your hearts consent! The strawberry jam cookie is absolutely divineeeee! The jam is layered between two thin crumbly cookie, with a slightly warm toasted flavor! The jam is neither thick or overly sweet, and the powdered sugar makes it even more if a treat! The pistachio cookie is about a 1/4-1/2 inch thick and slightly mushy, I believe it may be keto? Not too sure, but you can definitely taste the pistachio. Not my one of my favorites... The sesame cookie is a smaller cookie, that tastes like a sesame ball in cookie form without the filling it would pair great with tea and is a lighter cookie to nom on! Overall the cheesecake and jam cookie were phenomenal and I would definitely come back to get those again!

Had a wonderful breakfast here. The owners and staff are lovely and kind. Coffee was delicious. We had avocado toast that is the best I've ever tasted and the owner made a special gluten-free avocado toast for my friend. If I lived in the area this would be my go-to. Loaves of bread and pastries looked amazing but I didn't have a chance to try. They will be changing their name soon and I wish them the best.

But the food itself was kind of hit or miss for me. I ordered the OG breakfast with bacon, eggs, potatoes, and toast. The potatoes were pretty soft and not very crispy, and the bacon was also on the soft side with quite a bit of fat still on it. The eggs, even though they say they aren't powdered, kind of had that soft, watery texture that reminded me of powdered eggs. Nothing terrible, just not really what I was expecting for the price. A few days earlier I tried the chorizo breakfast burrito and honestly liked that better. I think everything mixed together in the burrito worked better flavor-wise and texture-wise. Service was also kind of average. The servers were friendly and did check on us, but they seemed a little overloaded and stretched thin trying to do too many things at once. On a previous visit, service was a little slow and we had to ask for coffee a few times. One small thing that oddly kind of took away from the experience was the ketchup situation. They use tiny ketchup packets instead of bottles, so if you actually want ketchup for your potatoes or eggs you end up opening a bunch of little packets just to get enough on your plate. It just felt a little strange considering they have full-size Tabasco bottles on the tables. The bigger issue for me was the value. For two people, breakfast came out to around $42 before drinks, and the portions weren't especially large. Compared to somewhere like Black Bear Diner where you can split a huge chicken fried steak breakfast and still spend significantly less even with coffee, it just didn't feel worth the price to me. I'm not saying the place is bad, some menu items are probably better than others, but based on what I ordered, I thought it was a little overpriced for food that was mostly just okay, and kinf of bland (no salt or flavor). My advice would be to choose carefully off the menu.

The coffee tastes like a clean, bitter, cold brew with a foamy top. (Important: Bring Cash. There's a 4% Cash Discount.) I arrived at Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) on Thursday (around 12:13PM). Parking is simple but busy. There's a side lot for customers; sign says, "2 Hour Parking." Staff is courteous, no-nonsense, and diligent. Staff worked hard. Staff quickly answered all my questions. My coffee took about three minutes. Good time. As mentioned, I ordered the Nitro Cold Brew ($9 - Large - 24oz). The coffee is very standard. It tastes exactly like any imagined cold brew coffee. Personally, the roast tasted a little burnt, but it's a common, familiar coffee flavor. The strength was weak for a nitro, but the HUGE SIZE and affordability balances it all out. This is a functional, budget drink. On ambiance, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) is a HUGE success. There's a lot of utility. The location has a self-serve water station, public internet with no password, stacked high chairs for children, two game corners (ex: Chess, Giant Connect 4, Giant Jenga, Uno Cards, Etc), and about one available electrical outlet. I also appreciated the retro, upbeat music and 1930s movie decor. In addition, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) has plenty of seating. There's about four interior tables, but there's also 16 outside patio tables. The location is clean, well-maintained, and well ventilated. Overall, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) is a good, local neighborhood spot. It offers affordable choice that are prepared "good enough." I wouldn't drive a long distance for this spot, but it's a decent option if you're already nearby. 4.5 out of 5

The inside is a bit small with only a few tables and a little area to order, but the outdoor space really makes up for it. The staff was amazing in guiding my family and me toward the best food options for what we were craving. I ended up ordering the B.T.S.A. sandwich, which was a lovely combination of toasted bread, mayo, avocado, spinach, bacon, and tomato. It was a well-balanced comfort meal that really filled me up. For the side, I chose the cucumber over the fruit and sprinkled a little salt on top, making it a perfect pairing. I enjoyed the whole meal with an iced tea and really look forward to trying it again. I would love to come back on the weekend if I can manage to find a parking spot!

Even on the avocado toast the eggs came out overcooked. I mention this, hoping that someone from the restaurant will read this and talk to the chef. I REALLY do like the food and I can deal with overcooked eggs but it would be better if they cooked the eggs as ordered or just don't ask anymore how to cook the eggs because they all come out the same. I asked my table neighbor if their eggs came out how they ordered and they said no but because it tastes good like me they don't say anything.
