My coworkers order from here all the time and i decided to go and check the place out in person as i hear their pastries were great. I was not disappointed at all! My coworkers got their empanadas and i just got a basic blueberry danish with a coffee.... Spoiler alert, their coffee is strong! They have a variety of food as well as pizzas/ flatbreads that are already made and a quick grab for you. As well as meals you can have them make. They have a good variety of bakery and cafe items. This is honestly such a gem for a location. The service was great and the staff was super kind and gave us some free cookies as well. The inside has a good amount of seating as well as an outside area with more seating that had a roof cover so it's all shaded especially on these hot days where being under the sun suck. I want to go back and try one of their cakes pretty soon! If you're in the area and have time definitely stop and get an empanada

Customer service was GREAT! That will definitely make me wanna come back. The sweet treats were amazing! I couldn't get over them! Honestly though, the healthy burrito was so bland- not much flavor. The worker there gave me some salsa, but that was also so bland. The empanada was ok, I think I liked it more than my mom. Would I come here again? Yeah I would!

Everything amazing. The food, bomb. Have to try the warmed up cinnamon rolls. The breakfast burrito with their homemade salsa is also delicious. Such a cute ambiance, but the cherry on top was the service. Truly sweet workers, the owner came to talk to us and ask how the meal was, 10/10 kind woman. Definitely would go back, haven't tried the coffee yet but I'm sure it's great.

First time eating at this place and pretty good, if I must say. Plenty of seating inside and outside and the workers are so nice. Michael greeted us and was so kind. We ordered two burritos - the healthy and the savory. So hefty! I would probably order easy on the potatoes next time coz they pack it in. We also had the jalapeno cheese sourdough bread - fresh and soooo good. Latte and matcha were on point also. Must try when you are in the area!

The staff is always friendly and helpful. The food is just so fresh and delicious! I wish I lived closer because I would definitely be a regular. They make the BEST dirty chai latte EVER! My daughter and I spilt the BLTC sandwich and we are still talking about it to this day because it was so good! We get our hair cut at a nearby salon and stopping at sweet savory cafe is always a must!

Came in Friday morning with my run club and it was an amazing experience .! To start off Marcos greeted us and his mother was so welcoming as well ! It felt like you were walking into a friends house for sure . I love that this Gem is in our neighborhood! Marcos made the suggestion on the Savory burrito and my husband loved it ! I decided to try their Jamaica and it was very authentic and bold ! So try it for yourself ! The vibe is very chill., it feels like home for sure . The tables are set up very cute and there's a patio in the front and in the back so feel free to bring all your friends- we sure did ! They have so many tasty pastries to pick and choose from so there's for sure something that will fit your needs . Did I mention ruin their bread is made fresh ! Some in and try a burrito a pasty ., or sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee ! Parking is off Bonita avenue and there's also parking in the back., so bring all your friends and enjoy a delicious brunch . ! Will keep coming back for sure

A Carnitas Breakfast Burrito loaded with freshly-prepared, lean carnitas, potato, egg, and cheese.

We've passed by Sweet Savory Cafe many times on our late afternoon strolls through Old Town San Dimas but hadn't been able to visit due to their early closing time. With an eye on purchasing some pastries for the following day's Rose Parade, we made it a point to finally stop in during business hours on New Year's Eve. We never realized how popular this cafe is. We fully understand why, however, after getting the opportunity to see this business in action and sample some of their wonderful offerings. Breakfast burritos, sandwiches, pastries, freshly-squeezed juices, and fruit bowls are just some of the many items available for purchase. With so many yummy baked goods on display, we easily filled a box with a variety of freshly made pastries for New Year's Day but also couldn't resist splitting a carnitas breakfast burrito, as well. It was fantastic - loaded with lean pork and more than enough for the two of us to enjoy together. Similarly, our pastries were a hit the following morning (and still nice and fresh, too, despite being saved overnight). From what I understand, this is a family-owned business, and the staff is extremely friendly and patient (we browsed a bit before making our selections but never felt rushed). They were genuinely happy to know we were first timers, and the young man at the counter fielded our many questions with an impressive knowledge of what goes into their creations. From the street, this cafe looks extremely small, but we didn't realize there is also an indoor patio for diners in addition to the small, gated front patio on the street and dining area within the cafe itself. All are well-maintained and free of trash and clutter despite the foot traffic. New Year's Resolution 2026: Earlier walks through San Dimas to accommodate trips to Sweet Savory Cafe and Bakery! Thanks for your good food and warm hospitality, folks!

Blueberry danish + salted caramel latte in Sweet Savory's courtyard seating.

This place is popular with then locals, as well as folks who come to visit and shop in downtown San Dimas. The cafe is located in a complex that opens up to a shady and cool interior courtyard with plenty of space for large parties or dates. The service is 10/10, with very polite staff who are happy to answer any questions you may have. Both the indoor and outdoor seating is kept regularly clean and tidy, which I can always appreciate in a busy downtown area. I got a salted caramel latte and a blueberry danish, which is delicious! I saw the pastries being made fresh, as well as the clean kitchen. I recommend if you have a day stop in San Dimas!

I found this coffee shop by accident about a year and a half ago, and it quickly became my go-to spot. It's family-owned, and you can really feel the care in both the service and the atmosphere. Marcos is always so kind, and the service makes the space feel welcoming and vibrant. My usual is the vanilla iced latte truly the best iced coffee in the area. I also love their lox bagel; it's always fresh and flavorful. They bake everything in-house each morning, which is something you don't see very often anymore. It's a smaller café with both indoor and outdoor seating, cozy and charming. This time I also tried the pumpkin cinnamon roll, and it was delicious. If you're in the area, definitely stop by great coffee, fresh food, and genuinely warm people.

The breakfast burrito has to be up there with one of the best I had. The salsa it comes with is nice too (not too watery, not spicy). The owner walked by our table and offered fruit for our toddler. A few minutes later they brought out a quality fruit cup with 2 free pastries which were also very good. Will definitely come back again before our Costco run. Overall 10/10

    Savory Burrito

Was randomly in the city of San Dimas and came across this cafe & bakery thanks to Yelp. Tried the Savory Burrito and it was phenomenal. Burrito is $16 but it's pretty big size! I would 100% get this burrito again and I'm pretty sad that it isn't closer to where I live. My wife go the BLT and she also loved it. Ordered on DoorDash for pick up and it was ready within 10 minutes. Food was all nice and warm (crazy this has to be said but I've ordered from other places and the food is lukewarm). Place is a little small inside but plenty of seating.

My wife and I came here for a lunch date today and this place was an absolute gem. It is right in downtown San Dimas, which gives it a really charming small town feel, and the location itself is cute, tidy, and welcoming from the moment you walk up. Parking was easy, which is always a big plus in a downtown area. Once we got inside, the whole place felt clean, organized, and well cared for. The staff was genuinely friendly, and that warm atmosphere carried through the entire visit. The food was amazing. The pastries were fresh and delicious, and the lunch menu had so many good options that I may have held up the line trying to decide. I finally went with the beef and blue sandwich on fresh baked sourdough, and it was excellent. Everything tasted fresh, well made, and thoughtful. You can tell they care about what they're serving. The atmosphere really makes this place stand out. The outside patio seating was a great touch, there was a water station available, and the whole setting made it easy to slow down and enjoy lunch. It is also a great spot for a little people watching, which made the date even better. Between the great downtown location, easy parking, friendly staff, clean space, delicious food, and relaxed atmosphere, this is exactly the kind of place you hope to find. We will definitely be back.

A friend at church recommended that we visit Sweet & Savory this past Sunday and it just so happened we were deciding where to eat. We came here with the mother in law and were impressed by cozy atmosphere. You can sit indoors or outdoors. The place was pretty full inside and we lucked out getting an indoor table as one party was leaving. We ordered a Turkey sandwich, breakfast burrito, avocado toast, and some juices. I think the highlight was the Turkey and Avocado sandwich, it was delicious. The burrito was very good, but I think I will come back for the sandwiches. The service was pleasant and no issues here. Highly recommend stopping in for breakfast or lunch or a pastry.

Sweet Savory Cafe & Bakery Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Sweet Savory Cafe & Bakery

Is there enough seating inside for a party of 10?

I would say no, it is a small cafe with outside seating in front and in the back courtyard. They could probably fix you up in the courtyard if you let them know in advance, though because they are so customer friendly and will do whatever they can…

Are there any dairy-free breakfast items?

Yes, my favorite is the avocado toast and ask "no cheese please" and it's delicious. She will prepare it a few greens on top or egg whites if you like. Fruit smoothies are delish as well.

The coffee tastes like a clean, bitter, cold brew with a foamy top. (Important: Bring Cash. There's a 4% Cash Discount.) I arrived at Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) on Thursday (around 12:13PM). Parking is simple but busy. There's a side lot for customers; sign says, "2 Hour Parking." Staff is courteous, no-nonsense, and diligent. Staff worked hard. Staff quickly answered all my questions. My coffee took about three minutes. Good time. As mentioned, I ordered the Nitro Cold Brew ($9 - Large - 24oz). The coffee is very standard. It tastes exactly like any imagined cold brew coffee. Personally, the roast tasted a little burnt, but it's a common, familiar coffee flavor. The strength was weak for a nitro, but the HUGE SIZE and affordability balances it all out. This is a functional, budget drink. On ambiance, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) is a HUGE success. There's a lot of utility. The location has a self-serve water station, public internet with no password, stacked high chairs for children, two game corners (ex: Chess, Giant Connect 4, Giant Jenga, Uno Cards, Etc), and about one available electrical outlet. I also appreciated the retro, upbeat music and 1930s movie decor. In addition, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) has plenty of seating. There's about four interior tables, but there's also 16 outside patio tables. The location is clean, well-maintained, and well ventilated. Overall, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) is a good, local neighborhood spot. It offers affordable choice that are prepared "good enough." I wouldn't drive a long distance for this spot, but it's a decent option if you're already nearby. 4.5 out of 5
