Came in Friday morning with my run club and it was an amazing experience .! To start off Marcos greeted us and his mother was so welcoming as well ! It felt like you were walking into a friends house for sure . I love that this Gem is in our neighborhood! Marcos made the suggestion on the Savory burrito and my husband loved it ! I decided to try their Jamaica and it was very authentic and bold ! So try it for yourself ! The vibe is very chill., it feels like home for sure . The tables are set up very cute and there's a patio in the front and in the back so feel free to bring all your friends- we sure did ! They have so many tasty pastries to pick and choose from so there's for sure something that will fit your needs . Did I mention ruin their bread is made fresh ! Some in and try a burrito a pasty ., or sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee ! Parking is off Bonita avenue and there's also parking in the back., so bring all your friends and enjoy a delicious brunch . ! Will keep coming back for sure

First time eating at this place and pretty good, if I must say. Plenty of seating inside and outside and the workers are so nice. Michael greeted us and was so kind. We ordered two burritos - the healthy and the savory. So hefty! I would probably order easy on the potatoes next time coz they pack it in. We also had the jalapeno cheese sourdough bread - fresh and soooo good. Latte and matcha were on point also. Must try when you are in the area!

We've passed by Sweet Savory Cafe many times on our late afternoon strolls through Old Town San Dimas but hadn't been able to visit due to their early closing time. With an eye on purchasing some pastries for the following day's Rose Parade, we made it a point to finally stop in during business hours on New Year's Eve. We never realized how popular this cafe is. We fully understand why, however, after getting the opportunity to see this business in action and sample some of their wonderful offerings. Breakfast burritos, sandwiches, pastries, freshly-squeezed juices, and fruit bowls are just some of the many items available for purchase. With so many yummy baked goods on display, we easily filled a box with a variety of freshly made pastries for New Year's Day but also couldn't resist splitting a carnitas breakfast burrito, as well. It was fantastic - loaded with lean pork and more than enough for the two of us to enjoy together. Similarly, our pastries were a hit the following morning (and still nice and fresh, too, despite being saved overnight). From what I understand, this is a family-owned business, and the staff is extremely friendly and patient (we browsed a bit before making our selections but never felt rushed). They were genuinely happy to know we were first timers, and the young man at the counter fielded our many questions with an impressive knowledge of what goes into their creations. From the street, this cafe looks extremely small, but we didn't realize there is also an indoor patio for diners in addition to the small, gated front patio on the street and dining area within the cafe itself. All are well-maintained and free of trash and clutter despite the foot traffic. New Year's Resolution 2026: Earlier walks through San Dimas to accommodate trips to Sweet Savory Cafe and Bakery! Thanks for your good food and warm hospitality, folks!

The breakfast burrito has to be up there with one of the best I had. The salsa it comes with is nice too (not too watery, not spicy). The owner walked by our table and offered fruit for our toddler. A few minutes later they brought out a quality fruit cup with 2 free pastries which were also very good. Will definitely come back again before our Costco run. Overall 10/10

I found this coffee shop by accident about a year and a half ago, and it quickly became my go-to spot. It's family-owned, and you can really feel the care in both the service and the atmosphere. Marcos is always so kind, and the service makes the space feel welcoming and vibrant. My usual is the vanilla iced latte truly the best iced coffee in the area. I also love their lox bagel; it's always fresh and flavorful. They bake everything in-house each morning, which is something you don't see very often anymore. It's a smaller café with both indoor and outdoor seating, cozy and charming. This time I also tried the pumpkin cinnamon roll, and it was delicious. If you're in the area, definitely stop by great coffee, fresh food, and genuinely warm people.

My wife and I came here for a lunch date today and this place was an absolute gem. It is right in downtown San Dimas, which gives it a really charming small town feel, and the location itself is cute, tidy, and welcoming from the moment you walk up. Parking was easy, which is always a big plus in a downtown area. Once we got inside, the whole place felt clean, organized, and well cared for. The staff was genuinely friendly, and that warm atmosphere carried through the entire visit. The food was amazing. The pastries were fresh and delicious, and the lunch menu had so many good options that I may have held up the line trying to decide. I finally went with the beef and blue sandwich on fresh baked sourdough, and it was excellent. Everything tasted fresh, well made, and thoughtful. You can tell they care about what they're serving. The atmosphere really makes this place stand out. The outside patio seating was a great touch, there was a water station available, and the whole setting made it easy to slow down and enjoy lunch. It is also a great spot for a little people watching, which made the date even better. Between the great downtown location, easy parking, friendly staff, clean space, delicious food, and relaxed atmosphere, this is exactly the kind of place you hope to find. We will definitely be back.

Was randomly in the city of San Dimas and came across this cafe & bakery thanks to Yelp. Tried the Savory Burrito and it was phenomenal. Burrito is $16 but it's pretty big size! I would 100% get this burrito again and I'm pretty sad that it isn't closer to where I live. My wife go the BLT and she also loved it. Ordered on DoorDash for pick up and it was ready within 10 minutes. Food was all nice and warm (crazy this has to be said but I've ordered from other places and the food is lukewarm). Place is a little small inside but plenty of seating.

This cafe is a local gem! The food quality is tasty and amazing. I have come here multiple times and have tried different items from their extensive menu. From breakfast burritos and sandwiches, to their pastries and fresh squeezed orange juice. I would highly recommend their fresh juices and their cinnamon roll! Best cinnamon roll I've had. The ambiance is nice, with seating inside, outside on the patio, and outside back seating. They have friendly service, today they offered me a free pastry with my order, and anytime I order from their food menu I get a fruit cup! Definitely getting your money's worth plus you are supporting a local business!

    Spicy Chicken Sandwich

The Spicy Chicken Sandwich is a must-try! My mouth was watering from the very first bite, the grilled chicken had the perfect kick of heat, and every flavor came together so well. Definitely one of the best sandwiches I've had lately!. The service as always fantastic and the ambiance perfect spot to enjoy a nice Friday morning.

A friend at church recommended that we visit Sweet & Savory this past Sunday and it just so happened we were deciding where to eat. We came here with the mother in law and were impressed by cozy atmosphere. You can sit indoors or outdoors. The place was pretty full inside and we lucked out getting an indoor table as one party was leaving. We ordered a Turkey sandwich, breakfast burrito, avocado toast, and some juices. I think the highlight was the Turkey and Avocado sandwich, it was delicious. The burrito was very good, but I think I will come back for the sandwiches. The service was pleasant and no issues here. Highly recommend stopping in for breakfast or lunch or a pastry.

Our first time ! The food is so fresh , everything is freshly baked , the veggies with the sandwiches and breakfast were all fresh and crunchy , very generous with the avocado . the service was awesome ! Marco, the owner was hands on , serving the customers with personal touch ! Gave us free bread and pastries . The ambiance , perfect for a morning breath of fresh air if you're looking for a good place to spend breakfast with your friend and family . I could go on and on.. but I highly recommend this place .

    Healthy Burrito

10/10 experience. I walked in and saw all the beautiful pastries laid out in the display case. I came for the breakfast burrito but my sisters and I left with a cinnamon roll, blueberry scone, and 2 burritos. I had the healthy burrito with added bacon and it was a 10/10. The cheese, bacon, homemade salsa, potatoes, and everything else inside was cooked to perfection! My sister got the savory burrito with chorizo and oh wow that one was fantastic too!! Then we got to the cinnamon bun which had such a soft and rich interior. It didn't have an overwhelming amount of sugar and melted in your mouth! The blueberry scone was dense in the best way, flavorful and soft, and wildly delicious! I will be coming back to try their empanadas, more pasteries, and their jalapeño cheese bread!!! You must try this place. The ambiance was perfection, cute home style decor, a pop of color with orange chairs, and such kind service. The owner was the sweetest lady who makes her own recipes for everything there. She clearly loves what she does and loves everyone that comes through the door.

    Italian Panini
    Bernadette C.

Wonderful little cafe that was recommended to me by my stylist when I was getting my hair done next door. I ordered the Italian panini and chose 2 pastries-- pistachio croissant and mango turnover topped with coconut shavings. The panini was delicious. Hot, crispy and so fresh! If only I had the chance to eat it right when they handed it to me because that would've been amazing, but unfortunately it was to-go and I still had a 20 min drive home. It also came with a small side of fruits! The mango turnover was so yummy being able to taste all that mango on the inside, the flaky pastry itself, and coconut toppings. I was excited for the pistachio croissant but unfortunately it was my least favorite. I didn't see any real pistachios on/inside of it and the filling was just a small dollop of what seemed like artificial pistachio cream. Everyone working seems sweet and inviting and looks like a family owned place that locals love coming to.

    A delightful sight

Is there enough seating inside for a party of 10?

Yes, my favorite is the avocado toast and ask "no cheese please" and it's delicious. She will prepare it a few greens on top or egg whites if you like. Fruit smoothies are delish as well.

But the food itself was kind of hit or miss for me. I ordered the OG breakfast with bacon, eggs, potatoes, and toast. The potatoes were pretty soft and not very crispy, and the bacon was also on the soft side with quite a bit of fat still on it. The eggs, even though they say they aren't powdered, kind of had that soft, watery texture that reminded me of powdered eggs. Nothing terrible, just not really what I was expecting for the price. A few days earlier I tried the chorizo breakfast burrito and honestly liked that better. I think everything mixed together in the burrito worked better flavor-wise and texture-wise. Service was also kind of average. The servers were friendly and did check on us, but they seemed a little overloaded and stretched thin trying to do too many things at once. On a previous visit, service was a little slow and we had to ask for coffee a few times. One small thing that oddly kind of took away from the experience was the ketchup situation. They use tiny ketchup packets instead of bottles, so if you actually want ketchup for your potatoes or eggs you end up opening a bunch of little packets just to get enough on your plate. It just felt a little strange considering they have full-size Tabasco bottles on the tables. The bigger issue for me was the value. For two people, breakfast came out to around $42 before drinks, and the portions weren't especially large. Compared to somewhere like Black Bear Diner where you can split a huge chicken fried steak breakfast and still spend significantly less even with coffee, it just didn't feel worth the price to me. I'm not saying the place is bad, some menu items are probably better than others, but based on what I ordered, I thought it was a little overpriced for food that was mostly just okay, and kinf of bland (no salt or flavor). My advice would be to choose carefully off the menu.

The coffee tastes like a clean, bitter, cold brew with a foamy top. (Important: Bring Cash. There's a 4% Cash Discount.) I arrived at Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) on Thursday (around 12:13PM). Parking is simple but busy. There's a side lot for customers; sign says, "2 Hour Parking." Staff is courteous, no-nonsense, and diligent. Staff worked hard. Staff quickly answered all my questions. My coffee took about three minutes. Good time. As mentioned, I ordered the Nitro Cold Brew ($9 - Large - 24oz). The coffee is very standard. It tastes exactly like any imagined cold brew coffee. Personally, the roast tasted a little burnt, but it's a common, familiar coffee flavor. The strength was weak for a nitro, but the HUGE SIZE and affordability balances it all out. This is a functional, budget drink. On ambiance, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) is a HUGE success. There's a lot of utility. The location has a self-serve water station, public internet with no password, stacked high chairs for children, two game corners (ex: Chess, Giant Connect 4, Giant Jenga, Uno Cards, Etc), and about one available electrical outlet. I also appreciated the retro, upbeat music and 1930s movie decor. In addition, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) has plenty of seating. There's about four interior tables, but there's also 16 outside patio tables. The location is clean, well-maintained, and well ventilated. Overall, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) is a good, local neighborhood spot. It offers affordable choice that are prepared "good enough." I wouldn't drive a long distance for this spot, but it's a decent option if you're already nearby. 4.5 out of 5

I ended up ordering the B.T.S.A. sandwich, which was a lovely combination of toasted bread, mayo, avocado, spinach, bacon, and tomato. It was a well-balanced comfort meal that really filled me up. After ordering, they take your name and call it out when your food is ready. Some customers had their food brought to the table while others had to pick it up themselves, so the service felt inconsistent and disorganized. The food itself was just okay, but the portions were poorly balanced. Half the plate was buried under tater tots or potatoes, which seemed completely unnecessary and likely results in a tremendous amount of food being thrown away. The oversized pile of potatoes also overwhelmed the actual meal. The presentation didn't help. Being served on paper plates made the experience feel more like eating at a backyard barbecue or buffet than dining at a restaurant. Between the cafeteria-style ordering, disposable tableware, and uninspired presentation, the overall experience felt cheap and was not worth the price.
