Deliciously savory with an extra kick from the bleu cheese, a luscious patty you could really bite into (UNLIKE A SMASH BURGER) and some really tasty sauces on the side. I kinda like my burgers drenched in bbq sauce and the kind that came with was a perfect smoky, rich, not too sweet sauce. The sweet potato fries felt kinda sinful ngl. Usually sweet potato fries are the "healthy" option but also usually they're shoestring and nicely sweet but just ok. These were kinda decadent. Steak cut and what I can only describe as a crack laced crumble coating. An order of these make a perfect dessert. The slaw was fine, nothing to write home about. They have vanilla creme soda :) The perfect accompaniment for a burger imo. My new go-to for burger delivery whenever I'm in the mood for it. Finally got to try this place and have to say, either the food market is hurting in this economy, or this place has no idea how to work with customer service. What a great little find. We stopped by here as our 1st choice was bedeviled by significant parking issues and man did it work out. We were off hour so we were seated immediately. Service was on point and friendly. The Food: London Bus: It was a quintessential burger. The meat was tasty and the bacon played perfectly against everything else. The star was the malted fries. They added a salty, acidic crunch that helped offset the richness of the burger. The slaw was nice. Just the right amount of crunch and not over dressed Onion Rings: perfectly battered with the right onion to batter ratio. I could have wolfed down a whole plate of them. Fun restaurant to come with friends! The service was super friendly and quick that we got our food in a matter of minutes. The food itself was super yummy. They have a variety of burgers and sandwiches that I had such a hard time choosing. I ended up going with the BBB and adding parmesan fries (best decision). Located in the heart of the modern biotech office canyons that now define formerly industrial Emeryville is The Bureau 510, a quietly lit, cozy yet spacious brewpub on Hollis Street, just on the north side of the Powell Street intersection across the street from the Chevron station. We've been here a few times to catch up with friends. Winners on the menu that we've tried include any of the burgers, the totally excellent beer battered onion rings, and fish tacos. This time I tried the blue cheese salmon salad from their "specials" menu, which was just ok. While the small slab of salmon was prepared moist and perfect, the blue cheese and everything else was significantly overpowered by the honey mustard dressing. Veggies and all other salad ingredients were fresh and on point. For dessert, we tried the hazelnut tartufo, which would have been amazing if this gelato dessert wasn't 1/4 of the way melted due to the warm plate that it was served on. :( Instead, my friend's vanilla gelato would have been a much wiser choice as it was served in a chilled glass with probably twice the amount of gelato! The food is okay! I got a ChikN Bureau but this was a bit disappointing. It didn't have too much flavor. There was not a lot of aioli or I couldn't taste any. The chicken was dry and not very flavorful. It had a lot of spinach which I liked but because all the flavors felt bland (even the bread which is Acme bread), this whole meal felt dry and very flat. This was my 2nd visit and the place is nice, clean, has a lot TV's to watch Bay Area Sports. They have a full bar and beers both on tap and bottles. Lots of wine and sparkling drinks swell. Their food menu has many options to choose. From American favorites to Asian inspired, at reasonable prices and large portions. They use to have karaoke on Fridays but I'm guessing not enough customers so they stopped. Bottomline, the place serves great food and drinks along with local sports and great service. We'll be back! Cute sandwiches spot, but pricy! I order the impossible burger, which comes with coleslaw and pickles on the side, and dressed with sliced avocados and a tangy sauce. The impossible meat was good--tasted exactly like Burger King's impossible burger, but they serve shoe-string Parmesan fries, which are my least favorite. The bread was nicely toasted and slightly enhanced the burger. Back to the fries, they were a bit too oily, and some were just hard/overcooked. My boyfriend came inside the restaurant to make a order to go and as he's literally giving his order to the waiter the waiter rudely cuts him off as new customers walk inside and greets them and acts like my boyfriend isn't even there instead of telling the new customers who are walking in I'll be with you guys in just a minute . He also had a really bad attitude as my boyfriend finished placing the order like he was super stressed out and he was like it's so crazy today. I ordered the number 27 burger. It was probably one of the worst burgers I've ever had in my entire life. I don't even think they used a pinch of salt on the meat. . Whatever sauce that comes with it was a super liquidy watery sauce that makes the bread instantly soggy and super wet. 4 stars because the food was good. It came out hot and fresh. We ordered the Caesar salad, BBB burger with onions rings, and fries. We originally ordered the curly fries but somehow got the regular fries. But it was still really good. We also originally wanted the recommended salad, it was a pork salad, but they no longer had it.. that was disappointing. The Ceasar salad, for almost $10, i would have expected a more "fresh" dressing. It was any regular salad, i wish it came with a lemon wedge, and wish the dressing had more of an anchovy twang to it. It was not bad, but i wouldn't order it again there. The burger was good, but the party could have used a bit more seasoning , and the bread could have been toasted. It felt like the bread was going to crumble bc it was a stale bread and toasting with some butter would have been a great help. Onion rings and fries: honestly some of the best I've had. Not one to order onion rings, but these ipa battered onion rings did it for me! It was crispy and light but had a bite. Delicious. Same with the fries, it was hot, crispy, fluffy and not a shoestring but not a wedge so it was plenty potatoyyyy. We went for happy hour, but none of the food on happy hour, just drinks. We wanted to have a second drink but he didn't come around to do a last call. This comes to the review of the service. They barely checked on us. We had to look around and make eye contact to get a fill on water. It was not busy at all.. everyone there was there before us. This spot is exactly one mile from our house. It's a go to in our walking plans. We always feel comfortable and the food and hospitality is excellent. Tonight I had the BBB burger amazing blue cheese and bacon with sweet potatoes fries so tender yet crunchy. My husband had the Yakinaku sandwich his favorite with kim chee. The Bah Mi is one of the best and the onion rings and Parmesan fries are addicting. My mother's husband who eats nothing but brown food loves their fish and chips and happily joins in. Hard cider is a favorite and draft beers are excellent too. Such gracious staff and great casual vibe. We come in shorts on a hot afternoon or step it up for date night and fit right in. Revisited this place during COVID and I'm surprised this place gets an overall 3.5 stars because I think this place never misses a beat! I hope they stick around for the long-run. Staff wear masks and you have the option of indoor seating or outdoor, or takeout. They do have heat lamps as well. It's never too crowded and the staff are always friendly and attentive! They have the best onion rings and tots! They got the batter to the T and it's not at all greasy. On their current menu, they have some specials like chicken katsu curry and galbi rice plate. You honestly can't go wrong with anything on this menu. The ACME bread is everything and the sandwiches are stacked! 4pm on a Sunday and we were the only people here. Smaller than I expected and appears to be more of a bar than a restaurant. Service was attentive, our food arrived pretty the quickly. We asked for both of our Burgers to be medium and were actually well done and the Fries were a little lackluster but overall pretty good. I did like the sauce used in the Burgers in addition to the Acme Bun option and the small side of Slaw was a nice touch. My girlfriend and I ordered a few things: - 2 cocktails: they were ok, can't complain here. We got a Watermelon margarita and a gin-based cocktail. They make them a little strong here. - Calamari: it was nicely fried and came out hot. They mixed in fried japapenos, which I actually enjoyed more than the calamari itself. The squid was a little hard and chewy, though. - Soba salad: I enjoyed it! I just thought it was weird that the soba noodles were warm. - onion rings: BOMB. The Bureau deserves so much more love. It's open every day - at all the odd hours I get hungry during and when no other place is open. I consistently dream about their belgian waffle.
