For somebody that continues to claim "I don't like pizza," I actually quite enjoyed the pizza here. A friend and I stumbled in here on a Thursday evening after taking a small lap around The Public Market to check out our options. Nothing sounded particularly amazing, but a hot pizza and some tomato-y pasta hit the spot and I have no regrets choosing this for dinner. It was pretty empty when we sat down given it was a random weeknight, but it was the perfect dimly lit dinner spot to eat and catch up. Our server was attentive, filling up our waters quietly and checking in occasionally. I love prosciutto on pizza, and wanted something a little more tasty than your classic margherita pizza, so this was a nice, salty change. The crust was quite fluffy and enjoyable, and I enjoyed all the topping flavors together. The pasta was simply a good pasta. Cheesy, creamy, and filling. We took leftovers for both dishes home. Nice to know this gem is nearby!

I forgot to put on my other reviews that I appreciated the bus drivers and shuttle drivers in Emeryville. The three I encountered were extremely helpful and friendly. I use public transportation when I travel in order to save $. We got the shuttle back from the Marina and stopped at Trader Joe's. After we walked back from Trader Joe's, we went back to Public Market. In the morning, I really wanted to try Omurice from Demiyah. However, they were not opened yet. By 4pm, they were and I was no longer craving eggs. I decided to be basic and got the Margherita pizza add pepperoni and mushrooms. I decided not to try it until we were on the train and it was cold by then. I wish we would have tried it when it was hot and fresh out the oven. However, the next day, it was good. I should have gotten their brisket pizza because it was a good pizza, but it just didn't give me like a wow factor. that was my fault for not eating it when it was fresh, cheesy n hot. Still 5 stars because it's not their fault I waited hours to eat it. Only thing was they do not have jalapeños for the pizza. We love ranch and jalapeños in Fresno.

Don't sleep on Pizzeria Mercato. Located next to the Public Market in Emeryville, this spot offers a $5 off discount on Margherita pizzas all day on Mondays, so naturally, we came on a Monday to check it out. We ordered the Italian Quinoa Salad to start, the Mac & Cheese for the kiddo, and the Marg pizza. We arrived shortly after they opened, so not too many groups were seated yet. Service was adequate, pricing is fair, and the restaurant itself is actually pretty open and incredibly spacious. I loved the quinoa salad ~ it came with cucumber, tomato, sliced avocado, arugula, almonds, and topped with a light Italian dressing. The Mac & Cheese was kiddo (and adult approved, yum!) and the marg was delicious...topped with olive oil and a bit of their hot chili oil..chef's kiss. They also offer pasta, paninis, and a fun antipasti menu. Next time I would love to try the Arancini (fried rice balls) and potentially a meatball sando. There's also an Artichoke Spinach pizza I have my eye on and a Fettuccine Carbonara dish as well. They have lunch and dinner menus, ample shopping center parking outside.

Cool mural. Separate dining area from the public market. The Margherita pizza and the beets salad are highly recommended. Efficient service. Worth a visit if you're in Emeryville or nearby. Parking lot across the street.

My manager and I came here after work and was super excited to try this place! We both were seated down immediately and our server was attentive throughout the whole dinner. My manager ordered the minestrone and rigatoni bolognese. She really liked how the minestrone soup had a lot of vegetables. I loved the brussel sprouts as it had balsamic vinaigrette. I ordered the arrabbiata and it was sooooo good. The hint of spice balanced the sauce and I love a good rigatoni. Would love to come back during work trips.

The margherita pizza was delicious. The crust was light and had the right flavor for me. The calamari was also light and crispy but slightly powdery and bland. I also didn't care for the sauce they paired with it. The service was blah but they got the job done. It was 8 pm on a Sunday night so that might have had something to do with it.

Spacious restaurant separated from the main market for some privacy. It was pretty empty for a Sunday lunch. You can see them firing up the pizzas in the open fire oven, which is cool. The food was quick to come out. My party of four had the calamari, prosciutto pizza, and spinach artichoke pizza. All of the items we ordered we were enjoyable. They were light and not too heavy on the stomach and taste buds. The calamari was crispy with a light batter and paired well with the marinara sauce. The pizzas had a thin crust and good texture.

Found this place while waiting for a 9pm Amtrak out of Emeryville, conveniently located using the pedestrian bridge over the tracks (there are 2 elevators separately located if you have luggage). The space is expansive and comfortably lit. The host noted our many bags, and we were seated near the front door behind the host station with space to store the luggage (thoughtful). The first thing that struck me was the big pizza oven and that the whole kitchen was visible. Not to mention the whole mood was cozy with a big mural of the Sistine chapel but with a pizza slice being ceremoniously handed off from an Italian town to SF... The staff were jovially bustling about and the whole vibe was chill. We ordered the Margherita pizza, and Caprese that came with pesto vs. the typical balsamic glaze. Both delicious and portioned perfectly for two, accompanied by a very nice Sangiovese. The topper was the specials dessert of a delectable profiterole (French style cream puff of which I'd never tried before). It was incredible. I'd go back just for that, to be honest. Definitely planning to pad my wait time the next time I hit the train station so I can explore more of their menu. Mangia Tutti!

I have been craving for spaghetti and meatballs. So my dining buddy took me to this place where I have had pizza many times before. On Mondays their margarita pizza is $5 off. To day we had fried calamari, margarita pizza and rigatoni bolognese and side order of meat balls. The calamari came out quickly, it was airy yet crispy dipped in their sauce was amazing. The bolognese sauce a bit on the salty side but the meat ball brought out the best on this dish. And the margarita pizza buried the basil beneath the cheese, it may be a nice tough but I miss the direct taste of basil when it's directly on top of the pizza. It tastes more like a cheese only pizza. I guess if I was expecting that I wouldn't be so disappointed. However, pleasant environment and wait person. In general, food is good making a very nice dining experience.

Hidden away in a corner of Emeryville, Pizzeria Mercato is silently one of the best Italian restaurants in the Bay. While the appetizers are solid, from the arancini to the meatballs, the absolute highlights are the restaurant's wide variety of classic Italian pastas and pizza. With both carbonaras and Margherita pizzas that are similar in quality to those you find in Italy, there's no shortage of classic Italian dishes to try. Having frequented this restaurant almost too many times to count, the two highlights of the menu are the chicken fusilli pasta and the prosciutto pizza, both of which are rich in flavor and leave you wanting more. With great service and a large open space with a wine bar attached, it's the perfect spot to spend an evening to relax and enjoy fantastic hearty Italian food. If you're in the area, Pizzeria Mercato is definitely worth making a separate trip out.

Definitely a great place for wings pizza. Service is exceptional, and the staff is extremely accommodating for large groups The restaurant is very clean beautifully decorated Highly recommend this for anyone looking for wine, delicious pizza, and wings There's plenty of parking across the street

I was at the Public Market and felt like getting pizza. The server who helped me out was very nice. I got the Brisket Pizza for about $27.50 after tax. It seemed enormous for a 12" personal pizza. It looked better than it tasted. The flavors were very muted. I think the cheese was the best component. The crust was soft and limp with an okay sourdough flavor. The tomato sauce was a plain and basic tomato sauce on the watery side. I was a bit disappointed by the brisket topping, despite the generous amount. The meat was on the dry side and lacked umami flavor. The leftovers tasted better cold, as this brought out the chewiness of the dough and the sweetness of the mild sauce.

I'm out and about in Berkeley today and I saw that my Yelp community manager Gina enjoyed visiting…read morehere. She's right - it's very fun. I arrived at opening, 2pm. I'm sure it's more of a nighttime experience. Firstly, I took advantage of the speakeasy beer option, which is hidden in the back of the bar. It's self serve with a nice selection. You're given a card that allows you to pour what you want. For food, I did a shrimp and a lamb, yes, I said lamb, taco. Both were great. The lamb was surprisingly great as a taco meat. Very rich and tender with warm, Indian type spices. I finished it off with a Pimm's cocktail from their happy hour menu made with a ginger syrup. Delicious. The bartender/server, Christine, was excellent. She really made me feel comfortable here. As I said, I feel like this is more of a nighttime place, and my review is for afternoon.

They have a variety of different beer flavors available through dispensers where you simply tap your card and pour as much or as little as you'd like while keeping track of the total $$. Our group shared one card and asked for four cups so everyone could sample different beers, which made it a really fun tasting experience. It's a great way to try multiple options without committing to a full pint of something you're unsure about. For food, we ordered the pizza, chicken tikka masala, naan, and tamarind chili black ribs. The ribs in particular had a nice balance of sweet and tangy flavors. However, the portions felt small for the price point, which was the biggest drawback of the meal. While the food was good, it didn't quite match the value of the drinks and atmosphere. Tap in lounge is a solid place to grab drinks and hang with friends. Just be prepared for food portions that are a bit smaller than expected for what you're paying.

Great spot for wedding rehearsal dinners, high school reunions, company parties, etc. Stimulating conversation abounds and a lot of laughter bouncing off the walls. A great place to see sporting events, especially the Warriors. Very nice patio as well with big umbrellas and fire pit. I went to see the visual kei, Japanese rock band, JILUKA, here with my boyfriend and we lined up beforehand for VIP. The staff walked out, showed us the rules for the VIP that was printed on a piece of paper and explained it to us too, they walked down the line to scan us in as well. Venue itself is pretty neat. The front part is a bar area with lots of tables and seating and outdoor seating as well. Since it was before the concert, we were able to enjoy some food and drinks from the bar and kitchen. It was also during their Happy Hour too which was great. My boyfriend got a drink (not sure what it was, but it was refreshing and citrus tasting?) and we shared a Bavarian soft pretzel with mustard and we got the white cheddar dipping sauce added on for a nominal fee. One of the best pretzels that I've ever had! Deliciously soft interior, nice chew to the texture of the exterior. Comes out hot, warm and delicious. Great on it's own, but great with the sauces too. Perfect dash of the coarse salts on it. I'd get this again for sure and would like to one day order more from their menu. The live house music area is in the back in a separate room. Restrooms were clean too. Enough space for the bands to sell their merch and do a meet and greet. Wasn't a huge venue and insane turn out, but it fit the crowd and I liked how intimate setting was. I was around 3-4 rows from the front and even with a mosh pit and wall of death, I was able to shift around and see the band more clearly. Easy visibility no matter where I was shifted around. Lighting was pretty good and made it easy to take pictures and video. I think the vocals were a bit more muffled than the rest of the band members playing, but that might just be the set up more than anything. Of all the venues I stopped by for the week, this had the most approachable and friendly staff. Greeted going and as we were leaving too. I didn't overheat at this one either, so the AC was A+!! There's paid parking nearby but if you read the signs and go around, you can get free street parking too. Bring more J-rock/over seas acts here, it was so good!
