i can't believe i paid $15 for this tiny burrito + a powdery horchata. it was mostly egg, a few shreds of potato that tasted like freezer burn, and maybe a couple of tablespoons of some kind of dry meat that didn't have any flavor, so i don't think it's actually chorizo. what a disappointment. read more

I went in wanting to try a California burrito but went with his suggestion of a surf n turf burrito. Chips and salsa are complimentary when dining in. Burrito was good and prawns were a good size. Size of burrito was a little smaller compared to other taquerias in the neighborhood. Flavor of the steak was good as well. Everything was pretty average not bad. Price was good for what you get. In my ongoing search for the perfect bowl of menudo, I have to conclude this was one of the most disappointing I've tried. I was feeling lucky since my last visit to this part of the East Bay since it yielded a menudo jewel in Emeryville at Cassave. This place was a more low-key spot than Cassave looking more like a reconverted garage brightly painted in orange. As with most places that serve it, menudo is only available on weekends, so of course, that's what I came for.
