8/4/2023--After having this place saved for a while and my co-worker solidifying the fact, I need to try this place. I went straight after work, on a Saturday evening. There are plenty of flavor profiles to choose from, or you can create your own. You can choose 100% grass-fed beef, free-range chicken, free-range turkey, or 100% from scratch veggie. Everything is customizable from the bread, cheese, and toppings. The staff was very patient with me given all the options I had to choose from. I kept it simple. I had The Classic. Made with a turkey burger. It was juicy, fresh, and satisfying. The texture was solid, and the flavor was there. When it comes to turkey burgers, they're not all created equal. The fries were hand cut. They weren't too hard or too soft. The crisp to softness ratio was just right. I dined in. Aside from beverages that needed to be stocked, it was clean (including the restroom) and spacious for the number of people seated. The parking is metered. The wait time is fair, considering all items are made to order, and they have a steady stream of pick-up orders. It'd been a few years since I'd stopped in for a bite at The Burger Point so I was very excited to finally enjoy lunch there again. I'd been there a couple times before and each time the food was pretty good. Today the food definitely left something to be desired though. My sister picked up a couple of burgers and two large fries. She had a bacon cheeseburger while I opted for the basic burger with lettuce, tomato and pickles. We only live ten minutes from the restaurant, but by the time she arrived home the food was lukewarm. Therefore, we reheated the food slightly in the microwave. The burgers seemed smaller than we recalled and the food was incredibly greasy. The grease soaked through the bag of fries. The fries were soggy and the burger was so greasy I wouldn't even give my dog the leftover patty. Aside from that the burgers also didn't have much flavor. The experience definitely wasn't as positive as my prior visits had been. The bill was nearly $30 and my sister commented how she felt we could've gotten more for our money by going to McDonald's as she tossed most of her burger in the trash. Perhaps the cook just had an off day or maybe the Burger Point is has changed hands since my last visit?? Either way, I won't be returning anytime soon. read more

Definitely good burgers! I had the New American Classic burger (substituting wasabi mayo for chipotle aioli) on pretzel bun. Delicious! Fries were great too. The burgers were individually boxed, which are ideal for keeping the tall burgers in place. But, the best is the service that I saw in the manager A customer did not have a mask on for the safety of the customer himself and the others in the restaurant. So, the manager kindly offered a disposable mask to the customer at no additional cost. The manager pulled out a bag of masks and offered one to the customer. COVID- shelter in place had affected us in so many ways. It was a good deed to see good customer service. Highly recommended for delicious food and good service! read more

I really love their hot dogs and wings. The garlic hot wings are my favorite. The Dirty South burger and chili cheese fries are also very good. Customer service is always good. I had problems using Chos each time I ordered, other than that I would definitely recommend trying this place, and try something different each time. read more

The regular burgers were great but I have to compliment the veggie burger here. Our vegetarian really wanted a veggie burger, but she's sick of the same old Impossible Burger that everyone serves (and that we can easily make at home). In town with my son and some young men for a volleyball tourney. We were looking for high calorie food to replenish there energy for the next day. We found The Burger Point right by where we were staying. We rolled in at 8:30 on a Saturday night, they close at 9. Service was great. Good, good people. The burgers, wings and fries were excellent! I had the All American (classic bacon cheese burger). Excellent. Requested Medium Rare, and that is the way it came out, cooked just right. Hand made patty, fresh bun, fresh condiments. Passed by here so many times since it's on the corner of State and Archer, and finally made the time to stop by this past month. I ordered the Shroom. It was absolutely packed with mushrooms, which was great. However, the buns were so soggy and the same thing goes for the fries. Don't get me wrong, I actually like soggy fries (from McDonald's), but these were beyond soggy. On the other hand, the service was great. The cashier was quick to let me know how long my order would take so I could make it in time for my next appointment. Feel like I didn't even wait that long and the bag was in my hand, ready to go! Ok so this review is about a year overdue. After spending several days in Chicago searching desperately for a good place to eat near McCormick Place, i found this and wow, I was so glad I did. It was THE BEST food we had during our entire stay. We were 6, and each of us ordered something different. Every single one of us loved our meal. I had the salmon burger (forgot the fancy menu name) and I just wanted to stay hungry so I could keep eating!! It was perfectly cooked (not dry at all) and sooooo juicy and flavorful. The best thing about our visit though was the service. I'm not sure if he was the owner, but his smile was soooo friendly and welcoming and gracious and kind and and... I got takeout from this place the other night, and I was really happy with my order. It's really nice to have found a local burger place to support that meets all of my burgery needs! Last night my partner and I each got a burger and a combo with a large fry - with tip, it was between 30-35 bucks. Not too bad to support local. I got the mushroom burger and added lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles on it because I do like the traditional toppings array. I wish I would have noticed that the burger didn't come with any condiments, but luckily I was eating it at home so I could add mustard and stuff. Just something to make sure to add next time! The burger was well cooked, a nice size for getting a single (6oz), and I was definitely full afterwards! I had a problem with my order, however I called the restaurant and I spoke to the owner Mike. I am also a small business owner and I simply wanted to explain to the owner my experience. Mike was very gracious and apologetic. After speaking with Mike it sounds like there was simply some type of mixup or possibly human error. Mike provided us a full refund. I like everything about this place. The 6 oz. burgers are thick, juicy, and done precisely as ordered. Eating a "double" requires the ability to unhinge your jaw like a python. The fries are hand-cut, crispy, and served piping hot. While you can build your own burger, their specialty burgers are thoughtfully constructed with my favorite being the Shroom Burger which comes with Swiss, Brie, and grilled mushrooms. I've been there probably 15-20 times, and the owner always recognizes me and is engaging and friendly. One of the best burger places on the south side. I go there at least once a week for a double patty Spanish Revolution and sweet potato fries. Everyone I have sent over gets hooked. There are a variety of delicious burger toppings you can choose from. My family also enjoys their wings, and the other chicken options. They get pretty busy on the weekends, so it's best to order ahead. I usually take my food to go, but you can definitely dine in. Truly recommend this place for a tasty burger. read more

First time ordering food here. I got a build your own veggie burger and sweet potatoes fries. The veggie patty was OK. Consistency was a little mushy as well as the fries. The staff was nice but I was concerned to see the person putting together the burger not wearing gloves or anything covering their long hair. I was so hungry I just popped the burger in the oven to kill anything that's not supposed to be on there when I got home. Smh lol The meat items look good so maybe it's a better option? Super friendly service, great atmosphere at a corner location easy walking distance from McCormick Place and hotels. Amazing burger menu with some creative ingredients and original housemade sauces. $7-13 is about right for the quality, flavors, and amount of food, wish I had one to eat at in Indiana! This is the best burger spot I've been to in the midwest - well this and Meatheads at a tie. Hard to split em, Meatheads has the value, more ingredient options, and those amazing shakes. Definitely a tasty burger. I did the build your own and forgot to ask for lettuce tomatoes and mayo, but got grilled onions, avocado, and American cheese. I should've asked for medium instead of medium well because it was a little dry. I also walked home with it so I'm sure the waiting dried it out some. The customer service was great, very nice staff and they even separated out the hot dog I bought for my dog and brought out the food to us outside. Would come back for sure. read more

I decided to check this business out. I wanted to show love to a black owned business before I returned home. I'm glad I didn't let a comment dissuade me. The counter staff and the people preparing the food were all nice. It was pretty empty when I came in but a herd of youth came in and ordered food and brightened up the already positively vibed restaurant. I love mushrooms and the shroom burger was so tasty, it didn't need sauce. When I finished my food, Simba asked how was everything? It was really delicious. Just how you like it. The ordering options are fantastic and it tastes so good. I never had a bad bite and it always satisfies the burger craving. Their fries are spot on and they're real fries cut from real potatoes. Then they put the bag of fries on top of the burger but it's always a cup "runneth" over situation. I've been going here for quite sometime. I work around here so this is practically my go-to place for lunch. I will be honest though. I NEVER try their burger. I am not really a burger person. I just dont like burger. Period! Don't you dare judge me! My all time favorite is the chili. And yes, I eat the chili during summer too. Again, don't judge! Love love love the super fresh chili. Cool location, workers seem decent for the most part. Ordered wings and fries. Probably the worst wings I've had in Chicago. Rubbery barely sauced up wings, stomach in knots for hours after consuming this food. The food here is amazing - absolutely wonderful. They really place an emphasis on quality ingredients and it pays off. I had their Chicago dog (being from out of town I had too) as well as their old bay fries and Asian chicken wings. The portions were huge and the price was reasonable. The sauce on the Asian wings is a perfect mix of sweet and spicy while the fries had the perfect amount of old bay seasoning.
