    Lamb Burger and Fries

Fun burger and chicken stand inside student housing building. The burgers are very straightforward but freshly made. They also have short term special items. You order at the counter and pick up your hot food inside the lobby. It's a little of an unusual layout. I loved my lamb burger which was definitely lamb-y.

Well crafter burger, fresh bun, evenly distributed pattie and fresh fries. I enjoyed the fresh pickles and burger sauce too! Wish I would've went for the double cheeseburger.

I discovered Burger Alley Chicago via yelp which had it listed #6 as restaurants nearest to me while in Chicago Loop. After taking a liking to some of its plant-based options featured in its gluten-free/lactose/vegan section on the menu it was then I considered, chose and ordered from this restaurant which sat no more than 0.2 miles in distance from my location at the time. I ended up ordering The Impossible* (GF), along with Alley Fries, Jeff's Cookie, and a Crush Strawberry as my drink. I never hesitate to order online via yelp because it is convenient. Most of the time my orders are completed upon my arrival or near complete. By the time I arrived at Burger Alley my order was near finished. As the employee finished putting together my order, she was very informative of what was not available with reasonable replacements. Within minutes of me arriving I was well on my way with my order. Always grateful to have a smooth online ordering experience because the likelihood of me ordering online again is very high because it is so convenient. As for my food, the Alley Fries were the first I started off with eating and I must say that they were crunchy, perfectly seasoned and delicious! The impossible was not one of the best I have had and certainly not the worst, but it was satisfying. Lastly, Jeff's Cookie! It was actually the picture of the chewy looking chocolate chip cookie known as Jeff's Cookie that influenced me into ordering from Burger Alley along with the plant-based options. I really enjoyed it! And it was a sea salt chocolate chip cookie to be specific. Need I say I had a pleasant ordering experience with Burger Alley Chicago as I indicated in this review. And as yelp recommended it to me, I share my endorsement of it as well with you all. Ambiance: 4 | Service: 5 | Food: 4 ~ Live in gratitude ~ Thomas G

Delicious, casual and reasonably priced! This spot has the essentials to satisfy your burger cravings. For vegetarians too!! I was here with a larger group for dinner and I really enjoyed it. At burger alley you place your order with the front counter, you receive a buzzer and once your order is ready you pick up your items at the kitchen counter. The process is easy and quick. This is a smaller spot and can seat about 20ish people, but, there are also additional seating areas in a different hallway/lounge area. I tried the alley burger - Nothing too fancy and hit the spot! The burger patty itself was juicy and flavorful. I enjoyed the buttered bun it came on as well. The sauce, which I think could be a ketchup & mayo combo was also good. Overall the alley burger was a solid burger that I would definitely get again. I also tried their fries which were crispy and salted perfectly. A few people from my group did try their vegan shakes which they all seemed to enjoy, no left overs for anyone! Elite tip - They do not offer complimentary water so keep that in mind - you'll want to bring your own travel water or pay for bottled water there.

I love burgers and this place is right up my alley. A group of us are running the Hot Chocolate the next day so we decided to get a quick bite to eat and picked this place as it seemed easier to get a group together for dinner. The Burger Alley Chicago is a nice spot that has a couple long tables in the middle that can seat up to 8 people with a few 4 seaters around the big tables. It also has window seating. You pick up your order down the hall in the building where there are more tables to sit. The person taking orders greeted everyone that walked in and was very friendly. Along with the burgers, they had a chicken sandwich, wings, and tenders. Side choices were fries, onion rings. If you are not in the mood for those sides, they offer cheetos, Doritos, and baked chips. For dessert they have cookies, no-moo shakes, and slushies. There is a vegetarian option for the burger, I'm a vegetarian so I went with the Impossible burger. It comes with grilled onions, tomatoes, American cheese, pickles and their house secret sauce in a brioche bun. I ordered the alley fries. The burger was juicy and the house secret sauce had a nice taste to it. It wasn't too messy to eat. The fries were nice and crispy and gluten free. I got a can of Dr. Pepper wash it all down. For $11 dollars for the burger I thought it might have been a bit bigger and the fries came in one size and it was smaller as well. The total with my drink was $16.69 before taxes. Overall, the impossible burger was pretty good and tastes better than other places that serves veggie burgers. Fries were nice and crispy and had the right amount of salt. I walked out satisfied but not full. If I'm in the mood for a veggie burger I would come back. I would probably order a shake to fill me up.

I was a big fan, but my burger aficionado kid didn't feel it deserved a top 5 burger in Chicago. She loves the $17 burger at Au Cheval. But she's not paying for that burger. I am. I'd say that for a $7.95 burger, it was really good. Fries ($2.75) were excellent. She even said they were the best fries she's ever had. Onion rings ($4.95) also very good, especially with the sauce. It's a casual environment with mostly high top tables. I was wearing a dress, so I was glad to snag one of the few regular tables. Service was fast and friendly. Pickup at the window. We're regulars at the kpop store that's down the street, so this won't be a "one and done" stop. We'll definitely be back.

Have eaten here twice! Small but cute eating area. Chicken sandwich is my favorite. Food is out pretty fast once you order at the counter!

Ordered takeout from Burger Alley. The burgers held up well from the 15min walk and tasted great. We got the Alley Burgers cooked medium. We were also intrigued by the No Moo Shakes, which are made with dairy-free ice cream. Both the Cookies & Cream and Lucky Alley shakes were yummy. The fries were decent but didn't travel as well as the other items. I appreciated that the staff gave us a holder for the drinks so it was easier to carry.

Hmm not sure I understand where all the 4/5 ratings are coming from, maybe I went on an off day? I'd come here again if I was really craving an affordable burger and didn't want to make it at home. The burger tastes similar to what I could make at home because it's a straightforward burger with not much seasoning. I do love all the fresh ingredients in there. The fries were crispy but were way too salty. The chocolate chip cookie was heated upon ordering so that's nice but it tasted more like a sugar cookie base with some chocolate rather than a chocolate chip cookie - the sea salt sprinkle on top definitely helped balance all that sugar though. No fountain soda - only cans and other drinks like Jarritos. Wish I could like this place more because the staff was nice.

The food was delicious. The staff was friendly, great at making recommendations and willing to help us out in what we needed. The restaurant looks lowkey and it may seem a little quiet because of the complex it's in but don't let that distract you from the fact that the food is actually really great and a decent price. Plus they had dairy free shakes! My husband and I loved it. We would definitely come again.

Not worth the 50 min wait. Food is good, not anything amazing. Ordering and pick is a disorganized process. Would not come back.

There is outdoor seating under a pergola lined with semi-private planters, while the inside features a bar, high tops, low tops, and large booths. The music was upbeat, giving the space an elevated lounge vibe that pairs really well with the upholstered booths and vintage industrial design. I ordered the Wolf Burger, which is a whopping three-patty burger. That first bite was juicy and pure bliss--a total explosion of great flavors. It was a little messy (like all burgers with an egg), but the extra liquid was perfect for balancing the density of such a meaty burger. The soft bun soaked in a lot of those juices with each bite, intensifying the flavor as I ate more. The fries were thin and on the greasier side--not my personal favorite, but they worked alright as a vehicle for the sauce. Speaking of which, the chili aioli served with the fries was fantastic. We also got the mac and cheese, which hit a great balance between rich and creamy without feeling excessively wet. The boat it came in was a bit small, making it a little messy to scoop out with the serving spoon, but it was soooo good. Overall, it is absolutely a fantastic neighborhood place for comfort food and drinks with friends in a great space!
