Gutenberg is one of the outlets at Time Out Market. I have ordered the cheddar and bacon fries both times I have tried this spot, mainly because both times I wanted just a snack and not a full meal. For $7 you do get a generous portion of crispy shoestring fries. I'd say the second time was a bit too salty for my tastes, but Gutenberg hits the spot if you're not looking for a full meal here. Perhaps I'll try a burger next time if I arrive a bit hungrier. read more

Ambiance is good at Timeout market Service is good. I tried the Goat cheese and mushroom ‍ burger It isn't bad. Yet I prefer some of their other burgers. Also later in the day my intestine or stomach had a sharp pain for some slight seconds. Likely due to the goat cheese digestion. I'm not lactose intolerant yet occasionally can experience some similar symptoms. All in all the burger isn't bad yet not one of their better offerings. read more

The four stars are solely for the extremely weird yet delicious combination of sweet potato fries & blue cheese. The rest of the items are ok, nothing to rave about nor not the worst renditions. Worst aspect was in fact no items had any truffle flavor or aroma whatsoever which included the fries & egg & truffle burger. Chicken snitzhel was probably a close 2'd behind the sweet potato fries. Kind of prices for what it is imho. I was desperate because I forgot it was 2 nfl games on a Saturday so foolishly I paid damn bear $70 for 3 sandwiches & two orders of fries. Fml. Service and ambiance was standard for Fulton Market. Last time I was here it took 45 min for the burger. This time it didn't take as long, but it was equally as forgettable. The patty itself was flavorful and crispy. The bun was fresh, and so were the ingredients (Double beef patty, american cheese, lettuce, tomato, diced onion, pickles, gutenburg sauce). IMO it could have used some more sauce and something to make it stand out. It's a decent burger, but nothing special either. With the loyalist, Au Cheval, and Small Cheval in walking distance I don't think I could choose to pay for another one of these. read more

Brussels sprouts were a bit sweet for my liking but I enjoyed them. Vegan burger was pretty good. I'd give this place another try.

The food was very good! We liked the egg and truffle burger the most. It is extra rich and greasy but I like a saucy burger. It does get messy though. The fries and other burger were good too. They have table service now at Time Out so it's not too bad. It was about a 10 minute wait for the food to get to the table. read more

Was pleasantly surprised by their burgers! We tried them at TimeOut Market! I love that you can order a veggie patty on any of their burgers! I ordered a veggie patty on the egg and truffle, and the rest of my party ordered goat cheese and wild mushroom, and the burger of the month (which had jalapeño and guacamole). So awesome they have burgers of the month too. Everyone loved their burger. Portion sizes are generous and the chef is incredibly friendly! Oh and their special sauce is sooo good too! Gutenburg's egg and truffle burger is second to none. Beautifully seasoned, fried egg on top of a patty with cheese, truffle oil, and sprinkled with some crispy potato sticks. The brioche bun is flavorful and very soft. Each bite explodes with flavor. It's mostly soft and gooey, but the potato sticks add in a nice crunchy contrast. Sweet Potato fries were not great. Wasn't sure about the blue cheese crumble. The sweetness of the honey with the fries in combination with the bitterness of the blue cheese felt a little rancid. Hot dog was great. Pretzel was great. Crunchy on the outside, very soft on the inside, well seasoned. It was very busy and the line was very long. Gutenburg is located in the Time Out Market, which is essentially a food court. So there's really not much in terms of ambiance unless you enjoy bumping shoulders with strangers. read more

The Egg and Truffle Burger at Gutenburg is a MUST try as it consists of a soft bun that's complimented with an egg that oozes out with deliciousness! Although the Time Out Market has many restaurants, Gutenburg's friendly staff and presentation really make them stand out. We went yo the one on Sheffield in Lincoln Park ( down the street and across from Starbucks) and the burgers were excellent. the Chicago had a hint of spice that gave it some kick. Goat Cheese and Wild mushroom had its own unique flavors that blended perfectly together. They also serve vegetarian meat and sell GF buns. Highly recommend. we will be coming back. read more

The giant pretzel here is fresh and comes with mustard and a beer cheese which absolutely delivered with the pretzel. My favorite side dish that I tried were the Sweet Potato Fries coated with Brown Butter and bleu cheese giving it a pungent and sweet flavor. The onion rings are beer battered and go amazingly well with the truffle aioli. You should definitely get a side of the sauces to dip, they're all incredible. For the handhelds, I had the Gutenberg burger which tasted pretty standard, and I would get it without lettuce since I'm a no lettuce on a burger person. The Chicken Schnitzel sandwich was well-balanced with light flavors that went with the pan seared chicken in the lemon butter sauce. The guten belly burger is for those that love bbq as it is tangy from the bourbon fig bbq sauce and meaty from the tender pork belly and patty's. My favorite burger I had was the Goat Cheese and Mushroom as the patties were noticeably lacey, and had a the combination of the goat cheese and wild mushroom gave the burger a more earthy taste and the aioli evened the taste out. The to-go boxes here are also very clutch and can serve as an eating tray without a plate. read more

I ordered the Gutenburg Burger and it was delicious. The meat was well seasoned and the overall burger was juicy. the sauce they add is ketchupy so it adds a nice tang to it. The fries and onions rings were good as well, crispy enough but not saturated in oil. And the sauce for the onion rings I think it was truffle aioli was good too! As much as i loved the place I did not care for the atmosphere. Me and my boyfriend came at a crowded time so it was hard finding a seat. The service was fast as well. I would recommend coming but during the week when it's not too busy. read more
