They offer several variations, including burritos, bowls, salads, nachos, and tacos, plus a pita option, with several size options on most of them. The protein options cover multiple bases: chicken, beef, carnitas, and tofu, and any of it can be ordered by "the yard," which adds 10 different toppings to it. You can also pick and choose which items you want from "the yard," if you prefer. We opted for chicken tacos with selected toppings and a Hot Mama Big burrito with carnitas and the whole yard. If your food isn't top notch, at least your customer service should be. This is my second time trying this place and they should be ashamed to call themselves the burrito bus! They don't have many options and the prices do not dictate that quality. The yard is where the toppings are listed, but rarely do they have all of the items available, and because of the slow service, you don't know until you've been in line and are ordering your food. The guys that run the truck are rude and seem irritated that one actually wants to eat anything from them. The Burrito Bus parked outside of my work last week serving lunch. I thought it was devine intervention because earlier that morning I did not find time to pack for lunch. I made my way out to the truck and settled on a Hot Mamma Burrito Bowl. I choose the mesquite grilled chicken as my protein. They have a list of 10 additions, they call it "the yard". You can choose any combo. I went with all of them but the jalapeno. As I opened up the to go container at my desk, I was saddened to see the food didn't look fresh or appealing. The lettuce was wilted. The tomatoes did not pop with color. But I kept an open mind, some foods do not look appetizing but they still taste amazing. I took one bite and I quickly realized that was not the case for this burrito bowl. There was no flavor. No hint of mesquite with the chicken. No cilantro. Nothing was tantalizing my taste buds. It was just a pile of food. I will not be ordering from The Burrito Bus again. There are way better food truck options out there in Columbus. read more

The food truck parks outside of 12th avenue garage on some days during the week during at OSUWMC. I would give it an average rating because it's pretty highly priced for what you get. What you see in the pic is ~$11-12 after the +$1 for guac and tip. I think quality wise, the burrito was good but didn't have anything amazing about it that would warrant a higher price. The rice and extra toppings were also "good", but for this price range I would expect something extra tasting in it. The chicken was a bit average. The Burrito Bus is among the many food trucks in Columbus. I have tried many of these food trucks and this one was pretty okay. This has good options for vegetarians. It has spicy seasoned tofu for protein choices. The burritos are big and they're fairly cheap too. I thought this might suck but not really. It's fairly good considering the amount you get. This isn't a taquiera so know that. It's Americanized for boring people's bland and sensitive taste buds. This is still better than Junior's Taco's. It was a fairly big sized burrito. This was about $8 and came with some very good hot sauce. It has its choice of protein including adobo tofu. This was better than some of the nasty Mexican restaurants around campus. It's Food Truck Wednesday! Today was The Burrito Bus. Super yummy! I had the Papa's salad bowl with extra lettuce instead of chips. So good. The ingredients were fresh and the fresh jalapeño was hot! For $8 it was a lot of food and a great value! There was only one person working the truck so it took almost 30 min to stand in line, order and pay. This would be the only negative. Yikes, since there were so many food options at the Columbus Food Truck festival we simply wanted a taste of what the Burrito bus had to offer and got a single taco, two are $7, they are they same tiny ones that you can get for $1.50-$2 elsewhere and should not cost more than that. Tastewise fine but just a complete rip off. I also got the taco salad and they made up for it with give me free guac (usually $2 since I didn't want any meat. The salad was on a bed of chips which gave it that crunchy taco salad taste that I love, it was great, $7 is also a bit steep but it was good. Still I think they need to work on their prices, the burritos were fair in size, go with that is you want something worth your money. They came out to the Baymont Inn near Rickenbacker Air Base on South Alum Creek Dr.. 3 people sitting on the curb eating. 3 waiting for food. Us 2 ordering, and 3 walking up as we were taking our food to go. I am never a fan of the melted nacho cheese. most have that ever so slight gritty texture like un-dissolved salt. I asked if shredded would melt OK on my nacho's. "If you add something hot." Kind of non-friendly with an easily detectable attitude. I can put up with any 'Soup Nazi" for great food. The chips were store bought corn rounds with a lot of salt. The under seasoned ground beef had some huge chucks as well as small which are better for nacho coverage. The beef may not have been hot enough to melt the cheese. I never fault food temperature on food to go. Most standard add on toppings like Chipotle. I did say no onions, repeated it 3 times, and got the impression he was trying to scrape them off the rice. I suppose if I had an allergy, I would have been in trouble, since I tasted some strays. The food came out fast like most Mexican places. It's already cooked. Just needs assembly. I ordered the $10 Effin Huge, but they did not bring those containers. Thank goodness! The regular $7 was packed into a large sub container. Plenty of hot sauce to choose from out front. I would order again, as I told co-workers. Good truck and service, there's a good menu setup so that you can pick and choose annnnd they serve large portions, sometimes when you leave a food truck you don't get much food for your dollar. I thought this was a good value! However, I felt that my burrito lacked flavor. If they had like custom sauces to pick from or something more flavorful than just a spicy salsa (which was hot) I think this would elevate the truck to the next level. pleasantly Surprised! I dunno why but I had been avoiding trying the Burrito Bus for months. They are around OSU's campus quite often, but for some reason I thought it wouldn't be good. Well today my food adventure spirit trumped my fears and I tried them out. The menu was straight forward, I chose the pita de pollo. I reached out 1.5 weeks before the event to make sure everything was all set only to learn that they had double booked themselves for my event date. All aboard the Burrito Bus! This really hit the spot for me as a lunch destination. The guys running this truck have a passion, too, and I like that. Take the concept of a Chipotle, turn it into a truck, add some love, and you get the Burrito Bus. You have plenty of options leaning mostly towards Mexican fare... Burritos, bowls, nachos, tacos.. etc. Is it authentic? Nah, not really. This isn't going to be like your favorite taqueria by any means. Think Americanized with Mexico flare. Get the bowl or the burrito. Those are your best priced options, and they're a heck of a lot more filling that a small sum of tacos. I ordered a bowl 'HUGE' size, and I ended up having enough for dinner, so if you're looking for Value, then that's where it's at. Save your love of tacos for your Amigos on the west side and north side, but for filling bowls with great ingredients, this is a perfect option if it's near you during a lunch hour. The Adobo Tofu was not too shabby. Not as good as I can personally make it (hardy-har-har), but it was decent. I'd eat it again. They serve coke in the glass bottles, which seems the be the quite fashionable thing now-a-days for trucks, and brings a little nod to Mexico. I approve. The best part about this truck is that they got people moving. Even with a group in front of me, and two indecisive old people "Chicken or beef..... Chicken.... Or.... Beef... Life... or death... No, wait!" I was still able to get my goods in under 10 minutes and with good and pleasant service! That's always a plus, because personally, if I were shoved in a small, confined space on a hot day, with hot kitchen equipment around me, watching people making painstaking decisions on if they really want sour cream, or not... I had Burrito Bus for lunch today, and the flavor was great, and it was definitely filling. I had the larger of the two burrito sizes, which was a bit costly at $10. With the added hot sauce and jalapenos, it was pretty spicy, and that's fine with me. The burrito itself is a bit messy, since they leave one end open, but I can live with that. I didn't get to try out any of the other options, but I will say I docked it a bit because of the pricing. $4 for 1 taco is incredibly steep to me, especially when I can get great tacos at other taco trucks in town anywhere from $1.50 - $2. I had lunch at the Burrito Bus with a few ex co-workers last Friday and when I saw how large the burritos were, I was reminded of an old Bill Kliban cartoon that was captioned, "Never eat anything larger than your head". I ordered the Hot Mama and chose the $10.00 EFFen Huge option. I requested carnitas, with all of the fixings, including guacamole. Was surprised when they handed it over by it's size and amount of tin foil that was needed to contain it. It was a bit messy to eat, but very much worth the effort. They added more meat to it than I've ever had in a single burrito before, which is why it tended to leak the sauce. The flavors were great, all the extras were fresh and after wrestling with it for about 10 minutes, was able to get it down without causing any major spillage to my shirt. The guy who handed me my food complained to his coworker "Jesus Christ no tip again". I'm sorry, but I asked for nothing special except guac which I was charged for. I tip $1.00 - 20% when somebody makes a recommendation, accommodates me in any way, or if I feel they deserve a tip from the last time I visited their food truck. I don't think counter service is obligatory for tipping. The owner chooses to conduct business from a food truck as a business plan, not for my convenience which requires me to add a gratuity for average counter service. I want to like this truck, but I've eaten here multiple times and it has been disappointing every time. I don't plan to try it again. The rice and beans are super bland and boring. I have tried the chicken and the carnitas. The chicken is not worth getting. I have given it several trys and it is always bland and flavorless. The carnitas are flavorful and spicy (which I like). Aside from my issues with the bland food, the food is also over priced. I get the $8 burrito bowl and there's just not enough food in the bowl for that amount of money. To give some context, I'd say it's less than half what I get when ordering the same exact bowl at Chipotle. Yes, they do have a larger $10 option, but I am not going to pay that when I already feel I'm being shorted on the smaller size. I made the mistake of getting a burrito once and I was shocked at how poorly rolled it was. You can't call yourself the burrito bus when you can't roll a burrito. It was rolled so that one end was left open, essentially making it "loose" and sloppy. It was near impossible to pick up. Never again. My final complaint is that on two separate occasions they have been out of cheese when I have gone to order. I eat here maybe once every 3-4 months and they have been out of cheese TWICE. I feel like I am not just that unlucky and that this is a habitual problem. I do think the service is relatively quick, which is nice for lunch, but overall I don't think I'll eat here again. If you don't like your mexican food with a lot (or any) flavor, you may like this truck. read more

Plus anyone who makes their livelihood selling burritos should know how to roll them. It was difficult and messy to eat. The larger chains have their technique down cold for a tight, manageable roll (to include how they wrap it in foil). Mine was rolled as if he just said "eff it" halfway through and then bundled it up in two awkwardly aligned pieces of foil and charged me $10. I got an amazing burrito from this place the other night after Park Street Festival. Granted, I had had a few drinks, but that didn't make it any less amazing. To be honest, this place was just not good. I ordered their chicken burrito bowl and got the "Big" size with everything plus guac. I really wanted to like this place, but there was literally NO flavor in my bowl. Everything was bland and not even the salsa or guac could save it cause those were bland too. The only good thing I could say about this place is that they at least added the guac for free, and for the price the portion was decent. Horrible! They apparently don't know that a burrito is food completely wrapped in a tortilla. I placed my foil wrapped burrito on my work desk, got some water and came back to liquid leaking from the foil onto my desk. When I opened the leaking end of the burrito it was to see a completely open end, similar to how a gyro is served. In addition, it seems like they placed most of the food in it, left the open end, then topped it with 1 1/2 inches of sour cream such that all you could eat for the first two inches was tortilla and sour cream. Finally, there was only one person in the truck so the line moved slowly as that one person took each order, made each order and took payment one at a time. read more

That person complaining about the $4 tacos is way off! They are basically half sized burritos for $4. You don't get a little corn tortilla with meat and onions. A taco is on a decent sized tortilla loaded with all veggies, meat, rice, beans, cheese, salsa, and sour cream. If you spend $7 on either a burrito, or two tacos, you will be more than satisfied.
