Paulie's Pastrami
Kerstin M.

I ordered a to-go meal from Buck City Sammies and the sandwich was very good. Better than katzingers for sure. I ordered the Paulie pastrami and it rivals the quality of a traditional Cleveland style sandwich. The breaded is buttered and grilled (nice crunch) and the meat is shaved thin and has flavor. I also appreciate that they did not put too much sauce or toppings on....i am truly impressed. 5/5 will order again.

The sandwiches here are huge, and even though the price point is high, they can easily be two meals. Each sandwich has very generous fillings and comes with a bag of chips. I enjoyed my pastrami sandwich sandwich - it's one of the better pastramis I have had in Columbus. We also tried the bodega chopped cheese (it was just ok) and the smoked turkey (I liked it more than I thought I would).

Love their sandwiches. Every bite, I say mmmmm! The bread is sooooo good. Premium toppings, tons of toppings. Comes with kettle chips. Great service, good food at a decent price. What more can you ask for?

Pimento cheese & chips

Ordered for delivery via postmates, got the Yo Adrian with salt & vinegar chips, and housemade pimento cheese & chips. Had no problems receiving the correct order in a timely manner. All of the items were so yummy. It's hard to find places serving good pimento cheese near where I live, so I was excited to see it on the menu at Buck City, and I really enjoyed this. The sandwich was tasty too, a thick layer of italian meats, tasty pesto, fresh mozzarella, the arugula adding an herby flavor not too intense, all of the ingredients just came together so well, sandwiched between those crisp and airy sourdough slices. I was pleased with my meal from this awesome eatery.

The Carmella (Mortadella, Salami, Honey Ham, Capicola, Mozzarella)

Buck City is a solid sandwich shop located in East Market. Service is good as the guys taking my order both times were friendly and helpful. All of their sandwiches come with a bag of chips, and the ones on a baguette are definitely large enough for two people to share. I could tell that they use good quality ingredients like fresh mozzarella and better deli meats like capicola. I tried two different sandwiches, the Carmella and the Karen, and while both were good and satisfying, I wouldn't say they really hit the spot. I'm a self-professed condiment queen, so I like my sandwiches to have an ample amount of sauce, dressing, mayo, etc. and theirs seem to be lacking. I'd return but ask them to go heavier on these to suit my liking.

The Carmella. Big enough for 2!

Stopped back at Buck City Dec 29th with some friends. Decided to try the fried green tomato sandwich with bacon. It was good. Huge. Bug enough for two people. Came with chips. As good as it was, I still think the Carmella is better. I will be back to challenge another menu item against your perfectly created Carmella sandwich.

We had a hard time figuring out what to order because all the options looked delicious. We decided on the pimento grilled cheese because I can't say no to pimento. We ordered a side of the pasta salad which had a little kick and was really nice. Would order from here again in a heartbeat.

Let me lead with you need their 'Yo Adrian sandwich in your life. And you need Isiah to make it for you. This guy is a magician and crafted an exceptional combination of fresh cheeses, vegetables, quality meats and date I say it truffle butter for our lunch this morning. Take a look at the menu and you dimply can't go wrong down there in East Market. The venue has this awesome industrial hawker stall vibe and I'm going to return tomorrow because it was simply delicious. Give it a go!

They know what they're doing here. There was some cheesesteak pop up that opened next to them and it just looked like an overpriced waste of time. Instead I went to Buck City Sammie's with unique flavor profiles, not your run of the mill tasting breads from Krogers or Giant Eagle but fresh bakery level breads and girthy, meaty, thick sandwiches. Prices and quality here are on par with Brown Bag Deli and it's well worth the price for the high superior quality and flavors. On the other hand if you want a cheap sandwich, with cheap quality and meats like it came from a government food pantry then go to Subway or wack ass Jimmy John's where the bread overpowers the meat.

Mazen H.

The sandwich is here or the Sammy if you prefer to call them that (I called them hoagies for years back in PA) are built nicely and very well handcrafted with care. It is probably one the better shops in the city at this moment when you have a craving for filling appetite.

First time my wife and daughter stopped before our daughter headed overseas for two years in the Peace Corps. Scotty''s is super close and convenient to the airport. Scotty learned of the imminent departure and came with cookies and treats for the long flight! And now this morning it was another airport drop off. It was my turn, dining alone but nothing about a table for one at Scotty's is lonely. The staff are immediately welcoming and every customer is every employee's charge. Four different people helped me or just checked in. The Gina breakfast combos have lots to offer for breakfast. But I was thrilled this 9:30 am to be assured the whole menu was available. I was looking for something less common and was excited to see potato latkes with sour cream and apple sauce as an option. That would have been great but then the waitress (Salome maybe) said, "Do you like corned beef?" The Schmoozer is 3 enormous latkes with thinly shaved and lightly grilled corn beef on top with an over easy egg atop that. Seriously, I can declare victory for finding something I'd never had before. Never would have found it without the nudge. Had to cut myself off with all the coffee offers. Just a great vibe. You rarely see a 4.9 rating and even more rarely that high based on so many reviews. But I understand why - like in so many things in life, it is about the people. And the joy they bring to every conversation. And I will just add, in this age when some would divide us, this dining room is filled with all manner of folks, reveling together over food in fellowship.

Wanting wings, I ordered the Garlic Parmesan and tots. They offer grilled or fried and I thought I ordered fried but these tasted more like grilled. I was wanting that fried crunch but got more of a well cooked bite with a creamy garlic white sauce, then sprinkled with Parmesan. It was still good but when you're expecting crunch, it's slightly disappointing. Still a good wing but I wouldn't put it in the top 5. The tots, now they made up for the crunch. The Blue Cheese was exactly what I like, sweeter with a little funk. Maybe I should've specified fried. Wings are an indulgence to me. I don't want the healthy version. I want that crunchy-Lipitor sponsored-defibrillator on stand by-I can see my blood flowing-We'll start the diet Monday goodness that only a perfectly fried wing can offer. Still good tho.

No exaggeration, this was one of the best chicken Parmesans I've ever had, and that includes versions from legit Italian restaurants. The chicken cutlet was super crispy and perfectly seasoned, with a coating that was flavorful and satisfying without being too heavy. The portion size was just right, not too big, not too small. I appreciated that the mozzarella on top was fresh and sliced, not the usual shredded kind. The sauces (yes, plural!) were rich and full of flavor, tying everything together beautifully. The only thing I think it was missing? Some garlic bread of some sort to go with it. That would've made it perfect. But honestly, it was still a fantastic dish on its own. Highly recommend giving it a try if you're anywhere near East Market. I'm already looking forward to going back and seeing what else is good on their menu.

This time I ordered the Sloppy Joe and the Chili Dog again. This time I got Baked Beans and Greens for sides. He deep fries the Hot Dog and then grills it and adds the sloppy Joe mix on top. It makes for a nice slightly crunchy hot dog with a slight crunch to it. The Sloppy Joe was on a premium bun and had great flavor to it. Yummy!!! The baked beans had a slight sweetness to them. Now on to the star of the show which was the Greens. They had a slight bite to them, so tasty with a bit of pork thrown in for extra goodness. This is the type of small business we have to support. All of the items on the menu looked appealing to me, but the menu needs work. It has items on it without any description of the items. For example, my turkey sub had banana peppers on them. I like banana peppers, but I know a lot of people who don't and can see that being an issue. I ordered online through the business DoorDash partnership, which created a cold interaction with the person working there. He kept telling me to show him that I accepted the order on DoorDash, and asked if it was my first day since I couldn't find the button. I then told him that I ordered the food for myself and his demeanor changed completely and was extremely nice and gave me the order. I have heard of DoorDash people scamming businesses so I understand his caution, but it could have been handled better. It would probably be best if he just asked if it's a carry-out or a DoorDash order. The inside is essentially just a giant kitchen and counter, so carry-out is also the only option. I ordered a turkey sub, coney, and a side of coleslaw. The order was completed in 9 minutes, so keep that in mind if you have a far drive. The food was very good. Probably one of the best conies I have had. It was all very warm and flavorful and had the right balance of everything. If I'm in the area I'd like to try more of their menu.
