We got off to a bit of a rocky start at The Buttered Biscuit. We arrived with only one group physically ahead of us, but quickly realized people were joining the waitlist online before arriving. After overhearing several groups being told they were "next," we decided to bypass the wait and grab seats at the bar--which turned out to be a great decision. Note to self: join the online waitlist from afar next time! From there, everything was wonderful. We ordered the pigs in a biscuit, but our server misheard us and brought the biscuit basket instead--a very happy accident! She gave us four spreads to try: orange honey butter, bacon jam, raspberry jam, and apple butter. The biscuits were fabulous, and the orange honey butter was incredible. The bacon jam was another favorite--we liked it so much that we ordered a large container to take home. I make a bacon vinaigrette dressing from time to time and wanted to try using it, and it turned out perfectly. We had coffee and the Surf & Turf Bloody Mary, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. For brunch, we ordered the sweet potato hash without the onions and peppers and added goat cheese--it was delicious. The bacon avocado Bennie was perfectly prepared, and we added a single pancake that was wonderful because it wasn't overly sweet. What started a little rocky ended up being a fantastic brunch. Great food, friendly service, and so many little touches that made the meal memorable. We would absolutely go back--just with our names already on that waitlist! read more

WOW this place was BUSY! For a Saturday morning breakfast rush, that's usually a great sign. Even with 10 tables ahead of us, we were seated in about 20 minutes, which felt very reasonable. The service started out incredibly strong. Our server greeted us immediately and had drinks on the table within three minutes. At first, I was ready to call this some of the best service we've had in Little Rock. The restaurant was also noticeably clean, which helped The Buttered Biscuit stand out. Cleanliness has become an issue at many Little Rock restaurants lately, but this place was well-maintained and inviting. Keep up the great work there. Pigs in a Biscuit -- $8.99 These were delicious. The biscuits absolutely live up to the hype. Nothing more to say, definitely order these. Biscuit and Gravy Meal -- $13.99 The biscuit was easily a 7 out of 5. Seriously, that good. The gravy was good as well, and the whole meal really hit the spot. Countryman Bowl -- $14.99 This one was just okay. There was plenty of bacon and ham, but the potatoes were cold and tasted like they had been sitting under a heat lamp before being thrown onto the plate. If the potatoes and eggs had been served hot, this could have been very good. As served, it was just average. Unfortunately, the service took a sharp turn after we ordered. Our server never came back to the table, our drinks remained empty for the rest of the meal, the coffee we ordered never arrived, and the kids' side of bacon was never brought out. Came here at 11:00 AM on a Saturday. Pro tip: Check in online! We only waited 5 minutes for a patio table. Our server, Vicki, was attentive and friendly. First time in, brunch with the sisters, one which had been here before. Seated quickly, plenty of tables/booths available at the time we arrived. Not too noisy, we were able to hear each other talk without yelling. They do have a nice lil patio, but it was raining:/ We were greeted with a bubbly waitress, who took our drink and starter order, Starting with the Cinnamon Roll and Raspberry Beignets. Both excellent! Cinnamon roll rich, plenty big for the 3 of us and same with the Beignets, nice and fluffy and I loved the Raspberry sauce! My Chicken n Waffles were very good, tender chicken, with a cream gravy and fluffy waffles. The Farmers Scramble look great, large portions, we all took home leftovers:) I can't forget to mention the Lemon Blueberry Pancakes, they were fluffy with a rich lemony sauce that was to die for! I was in the area for business, and I usually go to the toasted yolk for breakfast. Someone at my hotel suggested this place because she likes it better. Very cute and cheery inside. Lots of parking available. I chose the eggs benedict. I'm not a huge fan of breakfast potatoes but they don't serve grits..bummer. My breakfast was ok. The biscuit was a bit thick n dry for my taste. Ham to biscuit ratio was off. Coffee was great! Server was awesome! This is the only place I've been to thus far that is charging an additional fee for eggs. Preface. They close at 3pm and we arrived at 2pm. There was about a 3 minute wait. We ordered water, two Burton peach teas and one jam berry lemonade. Ordered our food at the same time. Water came, then food came. We were almost finished eating when the drinks arrived. Apparently there was no bartender bc my daughter watched our waitress make the drinks. Drinks finally arrive. The bourbon peach tea was 90% bourbon. We couldn't drink them. While we are waiting to tell our waitress, we observe the staff eating. It's not quite 3pm and they are eating, counting tips and vacuuming. I understand they want to leave but I do too. Our waitress looked over at our table several times and saw that we had moved the drinks out of our way, therefore, she avoided coming over. When she finally finished eating and came to our table, We told her the drinks were way too strong and her response was "it has 2 ounces of liquor bc legally that's all I can put in it". I didnt argue bc my names not Karen, but no, that drink had at least 6oz of liquor in it. That's all you could taste. Overall, the food was good but the experience was not. read more

Preface: I'm not a "review person." But we're in the middle of such an outstanding experience that I felt moved to leave one. We come here when we're in town visiting the kids and grands. The patio was particularly breezy. After about 25 minutes, despite blankets and extra hoodies, teeth began chattering. This was also about when our second half showed up...in dresses, shorts and short sleeves! There was no way! So they were going to say hi and bye, but then Austin, our very kind and tentative server offered us a table for 8 inside! He rescued our Easter brunch together with the family! So kind and accommodating. I know it doesn't always work out, but we got another 90 minutes with our grandkids before we head to the airport. Also...the food is GREAT! We love coming here. We'll start with the good. My food was delicious. I ordered the sweet potato hash, & I was not disappointed. So very scrumptious!! However, we waited longer than originally told. We were given a wait estimate of 10-20 minutes, but after 20 minutes and watching them seat people who came in behind us, my husband kindly asked the hostess about it. She told him there were three (3) parties in front of us, & then we proceeded to watch them seat five (5) more parties. I had to ask a second time, & after a 35 minute wait, we were finally seated. Then it was a 30 minute wait for brunch food. After eventually receiving our food order, my husband noticed they got part of his order wrong, he kindly requested an exchange (wrong type of butter; no big deal), but then they brought out the exact same thing they had brought him previously. Still incorrect. After finally bringing the correct item, he had to get up and use the restroom. There was a huge water mess all over the tiled floor near the restroom area which was a serious safety risk, & he said the restroom was filthy. After about 10 minutes, I also had to use the restroom. The water hazard was still all over the floor! There was no attempt at cleaning this up. In the ladies' room, there were three empty toilet paper rolls all over my stall, & a full roll sitting directly on the floor. This is definitely not what we've come to expect from The Buttered Biscuit. I'm not sure if this place has gone downhill or if they were just having a bad day. The water mess was still all over the floor even after we finished our meal and were leaving the restaurant. Just gross. read more

Heya, we stopped in while driving from L.A. to D.C., and boy did we love this little gem of a place! Coffee was amazing, beignets were perfect with the homemade jam, and the honey butter for the perfect biscuit was so intoxicating! I don't know if it was the kind of honey used or what, but that was the best honey butter I've ever had. Service was great, ambiance is clean and inviting; we just loved it. I enjoyed the waffle, it was cooked to perfection, however, the chicken was a bit overcooked to me. It was rather tough, but luckily it still had flavor. The egg was cooked over easy, no complaints there. My child had a unicorn pancake from the kids menu. I thought it was pretty cute and a fun way for kids to enjoy their breakfast. Stopped in before a movie. Place was packed. Server was a pleasure. Disappointed I didn't see any senior options so I went with an appetizer- pigs in a biscuit. This restaurant flags all their offerings so you know what's GF and Vegan. You can get anything on the menu, except the gravy, GF. The hostess and waitress were both very knowledgeable. The food was good. I had the Southern Benny, a Southern take on eggs Benedict. It was very good. I was a bit disappointed in the biscuit as it was very dense and the bottom was a little overcooked and hard. I was hoping for a light, fluffy biscuit...I should know better. My daughter enjoyed her Shrimp Benny. The beignets were also good. The lemon curd was a great addition. I have nothing to compare them to as this is the first time I've found GF. They were a bit oily and, again, not fluffy. But they were tasty. We will definitely be back to try some other dishes. read more
