I would highly recommend anyone needing mechanic work to look else where! This entire experience…read morewas a nightmare. grab some popcorn let's chi at about it. so I brought my car there in early June to have a new wiring harness installed which also needed to be built. I purchased the part from Jeep tell them what the deal is ask them can they do it. they said yeah it may take an hour tops. we'll five days go by and still nothing. at first I was understanding they kept saying how their mechanic quit and they had to hire a new one. that's all fine and dandy. two days after they hired a new mechanic and telling me they were going to get to it first still no call. I called everyday to check and see the progress on the one hour job. It then turns into the alternator is bad to because the plug is bent for the wiring harness. I found that odd because it was just replaced not even 6 months ago and had a warranty not to mention my neighbor tested it two days before I brought it there with a code reader. so I go pick the part up being it to o reillys and have them test it because there is no bend in the prongs or anything in the alternator it's identical to the new part just had some dust on it. So even though my gut is telling me they are lying I again just let it slide because it's almost been two weeks at this point and I need my car. So I go pick it up and later that day I notice a pretty big scrape on my tent on my window on the passenger and driver side. I called to let them know and they said they didn't do it and took pictures before it got there so I said okay would you mind sending it to me because I have pictures from a week before my car broke down and it wasn't like that. They told me they can't give me the pictures now and it wasn't of the window even though the day before she did. So they tell me to come up there just to try and tell me they didn't do it and still not give me the pictures. so I then start letting them have it after the mechanic who walked off cussing starts having an attitude so do I. I pretty much ended the conversation with so y'all aren't going to show me the pictures that you told me you had and not accept responsibility. Then i start to ask about the alternator how the prong wasn't broken or anything and I Reilly said it passed the test as well. The mechanic starts saying how he didn't want to chance it and that you need a mirror to see inside of the alternator to see the part he was talking about...... just Save your self the headache and the unnecessary bull crap and literally go anywhere else.

I understood that they would not warranty the parts themselves, but I did expect them to be installed properly. My wife's car had 103,000 miles on it at this point and within a month of Christian brothers replacing all the coils in spark plugs one of the coils burned out. I had a reputable mechanic replace it thinking it was just an oddity. Within a few more weeks 2 more coils were dying. My wife thought it might be transmission problems and took it to a reputable transmission shop they ran the OBD2 and it showed that the coils in a couple of cylinders were going bad. Within 10 minutes of that diagnosis my wife had the car to Christian brothers. at this point there ws 107,000mi on the car. She showed them OBD2 the report and they basically thumbed their noses at it and said they had to run their own even though it's the same report. This cost I believe around $160, for the exact same test. They were rather curt about it to her, at this point she was exasperated and took it back to the other reputable mechanic who looked at the report and said, yes I see. I had him just go ahead and replace all the plugs and coils again. When I went to Christian brothers to discuss this matter with them they said because I provided the parts they have no warranty even though on the Christian brothers invoice it clearly says "Christian brothers automotive guarantees proper installation of guest supply parts that are designed manufactured and suitable for the guests vehicle in its current condition." I provided the parts Ford sold me and CB agreed that they were the right parts. They (CB) failed to gap the plugs. My wife's car requires a 0.031 gap and CB left the gap at 0.060 and said not gapping is "industry standard". While that is a standard excuse maybe, the mechanic should have been astute enough to check to make sure that he was properly installing them. The over gap caused the coils to work twice as hard or more than they would have if properly gapped the new plugs, thus burning the plugs and damaging the new coils. Gapping is basic engine maintenance practice. When I used to do my own maintenance, way back when, that was the first thing I did...gap the plug properly. Christian brothers does not want to honor this warranty. I am only happy that their mistake did not destroy my wife's car engine. If CB as a company really stands by their own warranties, they should refund their charges and the cost of having them all replaced again because of their improper installation.

I really enjoyed the updated text from the technician every step of the way. My radiator needs replacing and CBA has an amazing turn around time. The shop is state of the art, the waiting area is peaceful and homely. You're clearly more than just money to Christian Brothers. Mathew Brown is a wonderful family man, with a kind heart and pure motives. You won't be taken advantage of when your vehicle knowledge is limited either.
