I stumbled across this place while waiting for my car to get fixed. So glad I did! It's not the nicest looking inside but the woman at the counter was so kind and helpful, she also made the best London Fog I think I've ever had. I had a delicious mousse treat and she brought free gelato! Wi-Fi was great, seats were comfy, and they had free books and games for kids. Cafe Dolce is a new indie cafe located next door to Sodam Chicken in Shoreline's North City neighborhood. I finally had the opportunity to stop by mid morning (10/13/22). There is limited street parking along 15th Ave NE or below & behind the shared building. The adjacent lot at street level is for two other businesses and subject to tow. The cafe interior is very clean and plentiful natural light. Upon inquiry, I was told this cafe has been opened for seven weeks, with not much advertisement, and still seeking to hire additional staff. Wall art was currently being hung during my visit. Onsite seating is ample and a few outdoor seating available too. I noticed to the left of the main counter, there is additional conference room space. So if you're a group or organization that needs meeting space, please inquire directly. I ordered a 16 oz mocha and pain au chocolat to go. The mocha was on point - perfect temperature with balanced milk, chocolate, and espresso flavors. The pastry was fresh and surprisingly tasty. The front pastry and refrigerated cases were well stocked with a variety of pastries, desserts, and beverages. I plan to return because I realized I forgot to inquire about stamp cards or note their business hours. I glanced and saw that they have onsite WiFi though. As a Shoreline resident, there are very few indie cafes. There's Cafe Aroma (Ridgecrest), Richmond Beach Coffee Company (Richmond Beach), and Black Coffee Northwest (on 99/Aurora)...so this is a big deal to me and welcome Cafe Dolce to Shoreline. Came here on a walk with my granddaughter. First impression, was the number of Ethiopian goods they carry. I know that Ethiopian coffee has a special place in their culture. Here is a place that certainly strives to this speciality. I know there is an Ethiopian coffee specialty of a pour over. Saw one group of people specifically order this coffee. I am sensitive to caffeine, so this time I only ordered a chai to drink. My chai was much more spice oriented than I am used to. It was quite cinnamon bomb overall, but enjoyed it. I also ordered a ham and cheese sandwich.That was one great sandwich. Crusty bread, nice ham and gooey cheese. Came spread with mustard and spices. Surprisingly, One of the best ham and cheese sandwiches I have had in a long time. Now this is a place where your order takes time. It is a place to linger. So, enjoyed the small library of books they offered, to keep time while you wait. Sweet staff and quality food. I was surprised at how good everything was. The surroundings makes you want to linger. will come back to try another sandwich, an almond croissant and some Ethiopian coffee. A rare find in the caffeinated surroundings of Shoreline. read more

I wanted to like this place, supporting small businesses is my thing. The coffee here is so bad, lackluster bean with chemical tasting flavors. My caramel macchiato looked AND tasted like a mocha latte. Another thing, you walk in an get an instant smell of curry. Not a good mix. read more

I was excited to try this local coffee shop because North City NEEDS a coffee shop, and sadly my mom and I were very disappointed in Cafe Dolce. Don't get me wrong, I'm a frequent patron of small businesses, especially coffee shops, but these recent reviews contradict what I experienced. I ordered a "chai tea latte" with a shot of espresso, my mom getting a drip coffee and two almond croissants, and they were less than mediocre; the coffee very watery and lackluster in flavor being a "medium to dark roast" and the croissant was NOT toasted despite seeing a toaster oven and the barista saying "I just took the croissants out of the oven". The barista was kind enough to let my mom add her own amount of milk. Could've done without as it was too watery already. The walls were covered in varying sized art pieces; they all being the same artist with not a lot of varying colors or different styles, and the echo of the other patrons in the place was distracting. The whole vibe of the place was not very welcoming and most likely I won't be back again. If this review is seen by someone at the cafe, I hope these suggestions give you means for improving your pastry selections, coffee brewing and ambience setting. read more

Tried it hoping to fall in love. Coffee was good. Vibe chill. Probably a great place to go with friends. But I was alone and people working there refused to make eye contact or speak to me unless I was standing in front to order (and pay) for something. I was surprised. And disappointed. I received a subpar coffee experience due to an unfortunate blend of tastelessness coffee with an overwhelming chocolate dominance.

Espresso shots are solid. It is a quiet, comfortable place to sit and work, armchairs are comfy. Service was fast, the barista was really friendly and kind. Since a lot of Shoreline/South Edmonds is drive-thru espresso (great when you're hustling, don't get me wrong) this is going to be my go to spot when I want to get away from my office. Didn't get to try the pastries this time, but they looked very tasty. read more

I've been coming to The Cafe Dolce for a year now. I almost hate writing a follow-up review because part of me doesn't want this place to blow up, but the other (better) part of me wants to make sure it sticks around. Coffee is solid and consistent. It's a quiet, comfortable place to study or work (indoors and outdoors). The barista I see most weeks is super nice and friendly, she remembers our drink order, which makes it feel even more like the local, indie place it is. Continues to be my favorite spot when I'm stir crazy working from home. All I need now is to give myself permission to eat Mango gelato at 9am. TREAT YO'SELF! read more

This place opened up recently in my neighborhood. I've been there twice for espresso, and their baristas pull fine shots! The service is very friendly and welcoming. The pastries are interesting, I've tried the tiramisu and the diplomatica, and both were very tasty. The pastries actually come from a shop in downtown Seattle. Good local spot with friendly ownership and well crafted espresso drinks. Interior is nothing fancy but has free wifi and even a first-come-first-serve conference room. Plenty of pastry options and the breakfast sandwiches from Alki Bakery are much better than other frozen options at nearby coffee shops. read more
