Ambiance: Very warm and welcoming environment, friendly barista, lots of inside seating and a children's area. If you have the time, order for here and enjoy a coffee drink in a gigantic mug in one of their cozy setting areas. It almost feels like someone's home with how comfy it is! Service: She was quick making my coffee and sandwich, and she did everything with a smile! Food: I got their special, "The Salty Ex." A great coffee drink with delicious salted caramel and vanilla notes. The breakfast sandwich (Bagel, ham, egg, cheese) was yummy too. The reason I'm giving 4 stars is because they were out of a lot of the food options, and it was around 9:15 am when I went. You would imagine that this place has an aroma of Coffee.. or something, but you would be amiss, it's just the name, but what you do get, is good coffee. I'm meeting a friend here to catch up, to talk... and honestly, I had never thought about coming here for coffee, even if it was only 12 minutes from my place. Yes, the building was an old Service Station for you know, your car, so if anything the place has that on the outside, but the feels.. it's not that on the inside, per se. Where you get coffee and where you sit and chill, are two very different places. What used to be the service station office is where you get coffee, and where they used to service cars, is now where you sit comfortably, tables spaced apart nicely, and the decor is the place that makes you wonder why not.. in a good way. The coffee is Fidalgo, which is a good strong flavored coffee. They have a rotating mixed coffee drink of the month, and it's delicious. They don't bake their own goods, which honestly if you can't, then don't. What they service is packaged, but from reputable local businesses, so worth trying. Overall, you need a place to just work, to chill, or have a good coffee, this place meets and exceeds that. read more

Again, Cafe Aroma at 165th & 5th in the Ridgecrest neighborhood is a great indie cafe with outdoor & a variety of ndoor seating, plus a drive through. There's also art work, unique vintage items for sale. Plus free wifi, baked items, snacks, and decent beverage menu using local roasts. Make sure to signup for their POS loyalty program to accrue points. I've spent lots of time onsite over the years, with definitely on point mochas and service from personable baristas. This is a cool, unique and local coffee shop with a huge, comfortable back room full of chairs and space. They serve Fidalgo coffee which I'd never tried but is from Burlington, WA... 72 miles away. My espresso had a nice crema and a wonderful aroma! Heck, Aroma is the name of this place so I had high hopes! Upon taking my first sip, the word that came to mind was "smooth"! The second word for this medium dark coffee was "delicious"! This was the first of four double espressos at four different places on Saturday morning! Hey... when near Seattle, coffee is a must! As for the breakfast sandwich I ordered, it was supposed to be on a croissant but I was highly not impressed. I think it was microwaved and the croissant was not the slightest bit flaky. How I heard of this place: A new friend wanted to meet up for coffee and a (long) catch-up. She found and recommended this spot, which we had the pleasure of trying this morning. Type of cuisine: A cafe with espresso beverages (and ones without caffeine), a small selection of sweet pastries, and a handful of breakfast sandwiches. Ambiance: Outside, a small parking lot is viewable from several tables and chairs set up for outdoor visits. We were pleasantly surprised to see chairs for little ones (children), too! Inside the front door, one may think that orders are only available for take-away (or outdoor seating). The space is mostly taken up by a large bar area for the barista to work, one small table and barquette (that's currently filled with decorations and trinkets). But through a glass-paned door to the back, one enters a large living room. Expansive, and with armchairs, couches, coffee tables, even tables and chairs for working can be found. The space is warm, a bit eclectic with too many varied forms of cheesy art and decor, but it's not as distracting as might be expected. It's still a very cozy living room space that's been created for this third place in life. What I ordered: The ominous morning fog, drizzling and misting rain, and greyness leant itself to welcoming the winter Peppermint Mocha (12oz $4.55, plus flavor for $0.85) and a microwaved, square shaped breakfast croissant with Canadian bacon, egg and cheese (about $7). What I loved: The sandwich was warm and flavorful, but when not eaten quickly enough, the edges so crusty and hard, it couldn't be bit through and had to be broken off (discarded). The peppermint mocha, though, was perfectly prepared. It was the best I've had in years. Thank you vegetarian barista! Why I loved it: Cafe Aroma is a very cozy, easy space to spend your morning. Whether you're working, catching up with friends, or spending a lazy afternoon with family in a living room setting (that's not at home), it's wonderful! And the peppermint mocha. Must go back for it again soon. Cost: Average to high (espresso beverage prices are similar to most cafes, but the sandwich seemed overpriced for quality and preparation). read more

Love coming here for their drinks, ambience and cheerful baristas. As you walk in, there is a nostalgic feel to the place. Nicely decorated, with plants outside. Nice outside patio. Big quiet adjacent room to the right. As a grandmother, they offer the bonus of a child's play area. Tired parents can have their child distracted in the area and have time to relax. They even have a drive through, if you are in a hurry. The baristas here are welcoming. I have been happily greeted right when they opened to fuel up for a long day. I have tried many hot and cold drinks here. They have such a wide variety of drinks even a nice variety of uncaffinated one. The chai here is spicy and not too sweet. I long for the blended iced mocha, that keeps me awake for at least 12 hours. They put effort into making drinks carefully. They have breakfast and bagel sandwiches, which are alright. Most of the time I have come in here, is getting ready for a 12 hour workday. I'm sleepy and slightly grumpy. I always feel better after visiting. The happy greeting, the calm atmosphere and great drinks. A secret vice of mine is I like to read when drinking coffee. They have a stash of books I was delighted to find. read more

Café Aroma is a great local coffee shop. I met a friend for coffee, and was thoroughly impressed with the atmosphere at Café Aroma. They have a very broad and affordable coffee menu, much cheaper than Starbucks and the larger establishments. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They have a very large seating area, that you can find a spot to quietly chat, read a book or work on a project. The coffee selection was great, and I thoroughly enjoyed the overall experience. read more

They were friendly and it's a pleasant space. The coffee was good, but not great. Acceptable though. My big issue is the price. $8.30 for a 16 ounce iced latte! That's crazy. I pay $6.25 for a 20 ounce at my usual spot. And $6.00 at my other two favorite locations. And those are for 20 ounce. This might be in my top 3 most expensive coffee shops in Seattle list. A wonderful local coffee shop! The drinks are consistently good, the people are lovely, and it's a great way to meet your neighbors if you live nearby. They have monthly specials that I look forward to. they have recently gotten some gluten-free and vegan options for things to eat. If you're in the mood for a breakfast sandwich, just know that this place reheats and so the sandwich isn't going to be the best you've ever had. On weekends there are food trucks that come. just across the street there is a lovely pet shop, movie theater, yoga studio, and local brew pub. read more

I've been here twice; the staff has always been amazing, the place clean, and everything well stocked. Unfortunately, both times the coffee has been on the weaker side. It's serviceable, but in the fierce cafe market it's not a priority destination for the coffee alone. The drive thru is clutch, the indoor place is spacious, and if you're waiting for a friend to catch a movie (or afterwards to discuss the movie!) it's a great option. Lots of snack options too. Before our morning hike, we stopped at Cafe Aroma for some much needed caffeine sustenance. The pastry display case was too tempting to pass up - I ended up picking up an almond pastry because aesthetic. It was pleasing to the eye but also to the palate. It was flaky and crispy and fragrant. The iced latte was standard and while it wasn't anything too special, it was much needed juice to get the day going. Seating seemed limited near the coffee bar, but looks like there was a separate room, too. Since the table by the counter was available, we didn't venture back there. (This is a review previous to Covid constraints) I'm not a fan of this place, unfortunately some of the staff have been so rude, that even if they had a quality food it's not worth visiting again. I BOUGHT a drink, I went in to sit, stayed and worked for a few hours. And upon leaving was told with attitude "next time why don't you try buying something" by the barista working. Obviously she was mistaken, but I didn't even get an apology once she realized the error. I can't fathom this sort of treatment being okay from any sort of staff towards anyone. I visited Cafe Aroma for the first time when meeting a friend for breakfast. I've driven by but didn't think the space was so large. When you walk through the front door you're in a small room where you place your order, then you can walk through another door inside and there's a large but cozy seating area. My friend and I ate breakfast and enjoyed our drinks while catching up. There's quite a lot of drinks and food to choose from which was really nice. They were doing construction of some sort and at times we had to stop our conversation. But I won't take away a star, because I appreciate a business that's growing and trying to update. The kids playroom floor is filthy and needs a professional clean. All the toys should be sanitized daily, especially during this fall season. I went there today and felt both my boys are going to get sick from being in that room. Especially my youngest, who is crawling. I hope they add this to their nightly cleaning routine for their employees. I know there are signs all over that room suggesting parents clean up after themselves, and I agree they should, let's be honest though sanitization is not happening like it should be, especially the floor. Please let me know if this issues is resolved and we may come back and play. A changing area would be nice in the bathroom too. Thanks for taking the time to review this comment. I used to love coming to cafe aroma such a sweet little shop with great coffee! Unfortunately I don't think I will be a patron anymore I usually come in for my weekly treat to myself white coffee latte with either white chocolate or hazelnut one if the two and the cost is usually 6.25-6.50 and I always tip 1 or 2 dollars. anyway it typically this wonderful little barista with the cutest little straight across bangs she's wonderful but the last two times I've gone and ordered the exact same thing and it's a new barista only this time why on earth is my price 8.25 that's outrageous then asks if I want to tip?! I paid $5.99 + tax for this? The menu said with bacon and cheese and inside had no cheese and a shriveled up piece of bacon. It was also cold on the inside. They had no condiments of any kind to go with it when requested. I actually bought 2 and total with tax was $15 for two hotdogs sliced in half in bagel bread with no sauce so they were dry and just plain over priced.
