Wow...while downtown today we walked past the beautiful storefront of The Cake Lady so we stepped inside. The owner is very nice and very helpful. There is a case with fresh items including cake slices, cannoli, and cupcakes. The cake displays were so beautiful, with options for any occasion. We can't wait to see the Christmas options. The star of the day were the chocolate/chocolate and white/white cupcakes. They were so moist and smooth, so incredibly rich in flavor and perfectly frosted. We got 2 and we could have eaten 4! Absolutely delicious!!!! Saw a post on facebook about this incredible looking Dubai cake. Decided to call them up and make sure they had a slice before I drove from south Stuart. They were very kind and said I should be fine to get a slice. I arrived and both ladies greeted me with huge smiles and remembered that I drove all that way for this cake. They had so many other amazing treats so I also grabbed a key lime cupcake to balance out the chocolate cake. Let's be clear, I am not a chocolate fan. I hate super sweet desserts.... Neither of these desserts were overly sweet or too indulgent. The Dubai cake was moist, flavorful and the crunch from the pistachio middle layer was perfect. The cupcake was also super flavorful without being too tart, very moist cake and the frosting was delicious. Let me start by saying the FIRST cake she made was amazing. It was my daughters wedding cake. From there it's gone downhill. SECOND cake, I ordered on Feb 23, 2023. The cake was to match my daughter's wedding cake topper as they didn't get to keep the original. Stacy said she knew what I was talking about as the wedding was just 13 days earlier. I asked for the cake to be ready Feb 9, 2024 for my son-in-law to pick up the day before their anniversary. I was charged $75. All good.....until S-I-L couldn't pick up the cake on the 9th because it wasn't ready (he called). They weren't able to pick it up until the 10th, NOT as ordered and then they couldn't have it until they paid $65! The only thing that looked like their original cake was that it was round. When I called Stacy she replied that she was out of town. The cake that got picked up was white with red flowers and a red stick pin that said Happy Anniversary. NO resemblance to the original (see pictures) other than the cake topper that my S-I-L brought with. She finally said she would refund my S-I-L for the $65 but that their "website says $75 minimum". Wait a minute, your employee charged them $65......for a cake that was already paid for and wasn't ready when it was supposed to be done. THIRD cake we ordered was for my grandSON's 1st birthday. It was to be a full round cake (see pictures) decorated to look like a highland cow, for a BOY, could not contain dairy or wheat as he is allergic. The cupcakes were to look like cow pies with brown frosting. The cake came as a 1/2 cake (not round), the highland hair with PINK bows. This cake was to be for a boy! The cupcakes that were to look like brown cow pies were done in white frosting. The cake could not be finished for a boy as they did not have the required frosting and we had to wait for the white frosting to be scraped off the cupcakes and be re-applied in the brown coloring. When I called to complain Stacy said she was out of town when it was made and couldn't control what the on-hand decorator ended up doing. After my panic and complaining The cake lady Stacy finally ended up giving us a $40 gift certificate but only to her store. Should have been a refund to the credit card! The comment was their web site says "NO REFUNDS", issue was this was THEIR mistake in decorating, not our ordering, not to mention we had to wait for them to correct the mistake. Stacey created our wedding cake that was similar to the picture provided. Which we were very happy with...However, my husband and I ordered an extra cake for our wedding to feed all of our guests and this extra cake was forgotten on our wedding day. When it was brought to Stacey's attention she provided us with a refund for our missing cake, and gave us a $25 gift card, she also informed us that she fired the individual who made this mistake. At the end of the day and about a year later we are looking forward to eating our top layer of our wedding cake but feel there should there have been more of a compensation than a $25 gift card for the inconvenience. read more

The Cake Lady Custom Cakes is a teeny tiny storefront tucked into a street in downtown Fort Pierce. Once inside, you are greeted with a number of gorgeous cake creations - it's obvious that the main business here is custom cakes and based on design alone, it does not disappoint. However, I got acquainted with it when I bought a Groupon for 6 cupcakes. I stopped in mid-afternoon one day to use it, only to find that they had only two flavors left. Because I didn't want 5 maple bacon cupcakes, I bought a lemon huckleberry and decided to use my Groupon another day. The lemon cake had a nice flavor, and the huckleberry filling was good, but I didn't like the frosting. It was very firm and very sugary, and didn't really have much flavor. Fast forward a few weeks, and I got smart and ordered my 6 cupcakes to be set aside and picked up the next day. My assortment consisted of: orange dreamsicle, raspberries and cream, vanilla rum, white chocolate macadamia nut, dark chocolate cherry, and pina colada. These cupcakes were GORGEOUS! They were so beautiful that I can't believe I forgot to take a photo. The winners were the pina colada and the dark chocolate cherry - the chocolate cake was really good with a gooey cherry filling, and the pina colada had a soft tropical filling. The others were ok - the orange one had a weird chemical flavor, and the texture of the macadamia nuts was off-putting. However, I have to say that the frosting for all of them leaves much to be desired. It's very thick and hard, and lacks flavor - most just tasted of sugar. And I like sugar! It reminds of commercial frosting, not the excellent frosting you usually find on a homemade cupcake. read more

I ordered almond cake with raspberry and I got chocolate on chocolate. Then the top of my cake had 2 holes with flattened balls of fondant filling it in...and her only solution was to put FLOWERS on it???? I had a nautical cake...how would flowers look right on that???? I did put the ball in her court saying, you know best put something there on top, but then to just leave it??? Also asked for "pearls" (actual hand made balls, even showed a pic) going around the seams but instead I got lame tiny stamped out fondant!!! I was quite disappointed....she said I could come in for cupcakes but that doesn't solve my disappointment and embarrassment at my party. read more

I gave them a few pictures of what I wanted as well as a swatch or the color I wanted it to be. I asked for it to be mint green and it was royal blue, it was not ruffled nor ombré like I had ordered. This was the only vendor who did not check in with me the week of the wedding and I could not get ahold of them on the day of either. I would totally use her again for a function and will stop by next time in Port St Lucie. The only critique would be that they seemed a little small, so much so, that they fell through the hole of their slots in the boxes, so the toppings got flattened. We scheduled an appointment for the tasting and arrived on time. The shop's decor is delightful and appealing. Stacey, the proprietor, was welcoming and accommodating as we devoured the moist and delicious flavorful cupcakes. The assortment of cakes presented would delight every conceivable palette, from red velvet, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, pumpkin, Irish cream, as well as any other conceivable flavor. My daughter-in-law sent Stacey a picture of a wedding cake with gold fondant frosting. It was beautiful. Stacey captured and surpassed the photo's image. The wedding cake was outstanding. I got a white cake with green and pink with silver pearls. "creative freedom" is what she said she took. She matched the bouquet of my cake topper. My colors were champagne, gold and pops of cobalt blue... see the problem? When I tried to get he to fix it, she removed the pink flower, gave me a white one and said I was lucky to get a custom cake for under $200!!!! read more

Extremely disappointed in our wedding cake from this lady. First off we ordered and paid for our cake back late last year for our wedding that was to be the day after Christmas, so there was a extra $50 delivery charge for holiday, ok,no problem, we had to move the Wedding to the end of June, so I asked her about the extra charge she said we would figure it out, so 2 weeks before the wedding we go to drop off cake topper and to just talk about the cake again and we asked not to do sand dollars and sea shells and not to do burlap on the cake but to put burlap flowers in stead, which she was going to charge for so I asked about the extra $50 and she said oh yes ok, so less work but still got paid for same cake. We get to reception I notice my cake is leaning, that my flowers from my centerpieces are stuck in my cake. She only put one trim of color around the top and put my cake topper on and used my flowers because the cake was sinking due to the heat I suppose. Now we had a air conditioned facility. Now the next day I hear from my guests about the cake and what was the flavor because it was not good at all, well was supposed to be key lime. That the icing had a bad taste to it . So I message the lady and I get the response of its summer and she doesn't advise her brides to do buttercream ( for one she never advised, for 2 it's her business and her responsibility to deliver a cake ) the decoration part she said I told her no flowers, in correct, my fiancé and kids were there they heard the entire conversation. We had tasted the key lime cake at the shows and it was good, not sure why ours tasted like crap, how embarrassing. Even more I bragged for months about this cake and how great it was going to be. We won't even have our first anniversary cake because the entire cake was pitched that's how bad it was. It's very unfortunate , she does great work. Just not on mine. Just beware!! read more
