One of the most amazing gyms in Elk Grove. The community and coaches are outstanding. I love how encouring they all are and how caring they are of you. I have lost so much weight and gained tremendous amount of confidence since joining the gym 2 years ago. The staff is so friendly and the gym space is clean and extremely spacious. One of the best decisions joining the camp

    Started the camp January 2025

It has been a year since and some months now that I have joined the camp. I love how much stronger and good I feel. The community is so great. The staffs and coaches have been so supportive on my journey in my health and fitness. If you're looking to have a good support and I highly recommend the camp!!!

    Gym beasties

I was introduced to The Camp by my friend Trang. She text me one night and asked me to come with her and workout the next day at 6am. I was already content with my own workouts and weight journey thinking what else would go wrong but to sweat a little more. I showed up, and saw the big crowd, the music started, and the coach led the warm up. The sweat started at warm up all through the end of class. My first class was with coach Taylor (very enthusiastic and encouraging) I walked out feeling refreshed, felt my body did more in that hour then I have in the last 6 months of self workouts, never had I wobbled and ached through out the day. I was asked to come the next day and thought to myself my body was in pain and I was not sure I could walk or even lift my fingers, but I found myself back on the mat. I saw another big group and a new coach, Andres leading the class. My body was still aching from yesterday's class but with the help of coach Andres and his energetic vibes and when the lights went into club mode, I was on full workout status. I was determined to go everyday and take advantage of getting the sweat on and having fun. Since going to The Camp, which hasn't been long, I have noticed certain areas of my body have been more defined, my upper body strength is slowly gaining little by little (I can adjust and lift more versus day 1), it helped me prepare a 5k which I had completed without being sore or restless. I have met Coach Taylor, Andres, and JC. They have been great and they have their own unique style and personality, but their goal is to make it fun and guide me to get stronger each time I come and leave. I can't wait to meet the other coaches and other gym beasties. I can come and move at my own pace but also challenge myself around those who are nearby. The hours are flexible and I can even come multiple sessions, as if I wanted to! I now have gym beasties thanks to Trang (she is definitely one of them)! Stephanie in the front has been very welcoming as well! Always good to see a friendly person when you enter and leave. There are some gyms you go to and you feel intimidated but here at The Camp, you see all ages, all body types, different people wanting the same thing: having fun, getting a workout and feeling accomplished at the end of class. The Camp has become my new favorite place of choice! Working out with others can be called accountability but having fun is way better! There are more with in the app and program that I have not utilized to it's full potential but can't imagine how awesome it could be. If you are looking for a group to workout with, come. Want some change, come. Want some fun, come. Want to come and try, come. Stay Fit, Don't Quit!

The coaches are amazing and push the workouts! Helps with weight loss and food plans for optimal results!

Love this gym!! Can't say enough about the healthy habits I've learned here! Coaches push you hard through workouts and assist with food plans

I came here for a trial class for iso. Never heard of Hotworx before until doing this class…read more Essentially the concept is, is that you get to attend recorded classes 24/7, but the classes are in saunas. You have to turn on the sauna for maybe 5-10 minutes so it can warm up to your desired temperature. They recommend the sauna be 120F for best results. There are different types of workouts, and from what I remember there was cycing, glutes, and iso--just to name a few. Each sauna room seems to accommodate up to 3 people. You can reserve a class ahead of time and complete your workout. The more workouts you complete and the more calories you burn, you earn points to redeem towards items. The iso workout was like 30-45 minutes long. It was actually very challenging. For a workout in which I usually would be able to complete outside of a sauna, inside of the sauna, it was WAY harder, and I came out of the workout DRENCHED in sweat. Outside of the rooms, there are cubbies where you can place your items in. They have cameras on the inside of the building so that can help with the safety of your items in the cubbies. They do offer little life alert lanyards that you can bring into your workout in case you're alone and worry about your safety--whether from the workout or your personal safety. I highly recommend bringing your water bottle and a towel (they do provide towels but there may be a charge). You WILL get easily dehydrated because you are sweating so much. However, the sweating made me feel very relaxed at the end of the workout. I would love to do their workouts again in the future. Some criticisms I saw when I read about the Hotworx workouts in figuring out if I should join or not, is that the workout videos don't change very often and that people wished the instructors provided alternate movements for movements that may be more difficult for people. Just some things I've noticed in figuring out if I should commit to classes. The staff were very friendly in explaining how the facility runs. Overall, I would recommend Hotworx based off my experiences!

I never used Yelp but I signed up for an account just to leave this review so people know how…read moreretarded this gym management is. Extremely disappointed with this gym. Sunday morning: 30+ people waiting for ONE basketball court, while another full court was reserved for volleyball with just one person using it. This isn't a one-time issue -- it's clear mismanagement of limited space. When dozens of paying members are standing around and an entire court sits basically empty, something is seriously wrong. Scheduling courts by preset sport type instead of actual demand makes zero sense. It leads to overcrowding, frustration, and people walking out. And no, renting a court is not a solution. Members are already paying monthly fees. Being told to pay extra for space that's clearly underused -- especially by a rude staff member -- just makes it worse. Around 11:30 I went to court 3, I saw a lot of people shooting the hoop in 40+ ft up, and that kid was still playing solo there. And the gym still allowed it. What a joke. If you care about actually being able to use the facilities you pay for, think twice before joining.

STOP DELETING MY REVIEWS…read more I'm honestly extremely disappointed with this place. On Sunday morning, there was only one basketball court open with more than 30 people waiting to play, while another full court was reserved for volleyball -- and there was literally just one person using it. One person. Meanwhile, dozens of members were crowded around trying to rotate into a single basketball court. It makes no sense. This is not about disliking volleyball. It's about basic management and understanding demand. When you have overwhelming interest in basketball during peak hours and almost no usage for volleyball, why would the schedule not reflect that? Why not adjust in real time? Why not prioritize based on actual member participation? Instead, members were left standing around, frustrated, wasting their Sunday morning. Many people ended up leaving because the wait was unreasonable. That's not a good experience, especially for a gym that members pay for. It feels like management either doesn't pay attention to what's actually happening on the floor or simply doesn't care enough to make adjustments. If the courts are consistently mismanaged like this, it shows a lack of responsiveness and respect for members' time. If you're thinking about joining this gym -- think twice. If you're a current member who mainly comes to play basketball, be prepared for overcrowding and poor scheduling decisions. It's hard to recommend this place when basic court allocation isn't handled properly. Members deserve better organization, better communication, and better management than this. Honestly, if this continues, it's not worth it. Stay away if court access matters to you.
