I come here pretty regularly for yoga sculpt and hot Pilates. The classes are good with full body work out, plenty of equipment, and a heated room that isn't too hot. After the heated work out they give you a nice cold towel. I usually take early morning classes 7:30 am or in the evening. The bathrooms are very nice with a changing area, bathroom, and mirror. There are lots of lockers and shelves to put your stuff. I like how kind and knowledgeable all the instructors are. They are pretty nice about people showing up a little late too. But it's good to come early! The activity room changes different colors and has a good speaker for music. I have taken classes with Julienne, Jamie, and Janet and they are all wonderful. read more

The first time I contacted Switch, I got a message from D'Lee (sorry if I misspelled). We set up a time for her to call me. She told me about their classes, the specials they have and what would work for me being a brand new yoga participant. This spot is definitely one of the great hot pilates studios in Elk Grove! My friends and I attended a 6am hot pilates class via classpass. It is a bit tucked away in the shopping center, located in the back corner. There is plenty of parking available and around. I imagine in the busier hours the lot can be quite crowded but I don't imagine a parking issue. They have cubbies outside the studio room to leave your belongings and someone at the front desk to stand guard. The class was very fast paced and the music playlist was my favorite part. Tons of throwback music, pop, hip hop, rock, trendy, upbeat tunes. The instructor was a bit difficult to follow, and the flow of the class wan't the smoothest. However, I still really enjoyed the workout and would love to try more classes with Switch Fitness. read more

Switch fitness is a cozy studio full of atmosphere. I truly felt the instructor cared for everyone in the class. If you're looking for somewhere to workout and also be part of community, I'd recommend this studio. It's very aesthetic. Definitely looks like a place I'd like to be in every morning. They have a great schedule offering classes from 5am to 7pm. The actual workouts to me felt very beginner friendly. I barely felt the heat for the heated workouts. That being said, I did feel all muscles where engaged. Did end up sore twice, after their class. They offer the coveted cool towel at the end of the heated workouts. It's lovely. The experience was perfect for someone like me getting back into working out. Unfortunately it did not have the intensity I was looking for. I am comparing it to the studio in my home town where it had a nice heated room, intense workout, amd youd end with sweat dripping off every pore. So I won't be signing up. Background info on me: I'm avid gym goer that focused on hiit/interval weight lifting classes. I ended up with severe stomach bruising after an accident at the gym. I was planning a visit to Sacramento and I came across this place, looking for a gym that offered low impact workouts. I came in with my stomach bruised, legs and face swollen. I took the hot Pilates, vinyasa, barre, and core. It was very difficult as being a long-time weight lifter, my body was too tight and not flexible. I was glad the trainers offered alternate exercises and let us go at our own pace. After the month ended, I noticed my legs and booty were more sculpted and defined compared to before I went in. Now back in La, I've been watching barre videos and attending pilates classes near me. And I don't struggle as much all thanks to this place. I will be back again once I'm in Sacramento again! I did Heated Core & More with D'Lee on Saturday 7am and she greeted us with such amazing and positive energy as first timers! She gave us a nice tour of the facility - which was pleasantly clean and well-kept. When we went through the exercise, I liked how she demo'd different alternatives that everyone could do for that exercise -- most places only give you 1-2 options but D'Lee made sure we can choose what we want and get exactly what our body needs! She was also positively encouraging and really pushed us to get a good workout. Her instructions were clear and she gave us necessary corrections if needed - which I appreciated! It seems like she really cares about her members, checking in on them and she even had a fun little Easter egg surprise where some members got prizes! Oh, we also did workout in a heated room - I think the thermostat read 6 degrees? I loveee doing heated workouts and only wished it was a hotter space, but nonetheless, I still got the workout I needed. All the other members were really nice and everyone just goes at their own pace and I felt comfortable. I've been trying out all of the fitness places throughout Sacramento and Elk Grove because I want to build a really strict routine for myself; and environment and teachers really make or break my experience. Switch is the best fitness studio in Elk Grove! I have been a member since 2021 and have had such a positive experience. There are so many different classes to choose from. Since they have two rooms in the studio they are able to offer a lot of variety. The owners (D'Lee, Jamie, and Stacey) go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and apart of the community. On top of that, the instructors are so energetic and motivating! Every time I leave a class I am so happy I went and got a workout in. I've been coming here for awhile now and after 300+ classes (according to MindBody), I think I have enough to review Switch Fitness. It all started when I was looking for alternative ways to stay fit that which did not include running. I went to Cal Fit for a bit and after working on all the machines, my routine became stale. I switched to running and while that lasted a few years, my body (namely my joints) were not happy. After being riddled with injuries from my ankles, to my knees, to my lower back, car accidents --- I had almost given up on exercising altogether due to my new limitations. My interest in exercising reignited again when I was in search of something new, something different. I was mainly looking for a place that had barre classes or low impact classes, something close to home, and if they had yoga, even better. I was considering the idea of a small studio because they are more intimate and focused on you, the student. I booked my first barre class back in 2019 and the rest you can say is history because I kept coming back! Switch has a variety of classes that focuses on a myriad of things. No class is the same if you keep coming back and "switching it up" with the teachers. It's a small studio, women owned local business. What classes do they have you ask? Let's see there's barre, Vinyasa yoga (heated & non heated options), Inferno Hot Pilates (IHP), (heated) yoga sculpt, gentle yoga, yin, bootcamp, Piloxing, PiYo and more. They offer so many classes and trust me when I say this, you will never be bored when you come. Each class is challenging in their own way and it is never the same! All the teachers are really nice but tough! Don't be fooled if you think you're in for an easy ride. Jamie, D'Lee & Gabby will definitely kick your butt in a work out or you can do some fun yoga twists with Megan, Jamie, Ashley, and Tamme'. Join barre with Cheleen & Jamie or wind it down for some Zen Blend with Darius. Over time, if you keep coming and keep at it like I did -- you start to see results. Don't be discouraged if that first, second, or third class did not give you the results you wanted because the work that you put into each class takes time. Don't compare yourself to your neighbor! Switch has 2 rooms so there's ample space and more classes to book. They also have the occasional pop ups and fun classes. There are cubbies on both sides of the rooms to store your stash before class. They also have in store shopping. After each class is finished the teachers mop the floors & deep clean the equipment. The community at Switch is amazing. Everyone is so nice, welcoming & friendly. I've met so many new people (which is also a reason for staying at a small studio) and we all hold each other accountable! It's always fun to come and it's a nice break from my day-to-day. I love coming everyday or at least almost everyday! If you're wondering (maybe you're not lol) what is my progress like now? I can say I am definitely stronger and a little more flexible. I have a stronger core than what I started with and I think I have a bit of upper body strength when initially I had none. So yes it does take time and I can guarantee you'll enjoy your time here. My favorite classes are: 1. barre (are there any other barre studios in Elk Grove?!) 2. yoga sculpt (challenging but sooo worth it) 3. gentle and yin yoga (Darian and Rachel are AMAZING and so helpful if you need a specific stretch) 4. piloxing (pilates + boxing, D'Lee's energy is magnetic!) 5. piyo (pilates + yoga) There are two separate rooms: a larger, main room for most classes and a smaller, barre-type room. I switched to switch and it's one of the best decisions I've made (and this is why)... Hey my name is Wik and I just moved to Elk Grove. The problem was that I just got fat... I got COVID Comfy and ate way too much of all the wrong things. To make matters worse, my exercise consisted of rolling off the bed, wobble to the shower, and the rigorous walk to check the mail. My clothes stopped fitting and I refused (out of pure stubbornness) to buy looser clothes. So I had a closet full of clothes that no longer fit. I was limited to about 1 pair of pants, sweats, shorts, and T-Shirts that I could still squeeze into. I really hated this and didn't like to even look in the mirror. I would avoid going out, because most of my clothes just didn't fit. I felt embarrassed and I knew I had to make some changes. I was looking for a workout spot that gave me the option for early morning workouts as well as a good variety of bootcamp, Yoga, Pilates, and even the HEATED Yoga (for that good stretching)... I tried a few places, but just didn't feel right. Working out is hard enough, I needed the motivation of going to a place where I was meeting friends. I was looking for my TRIBE and I found that at SWITCH! the owners Jamie & D'Lee are just amazing. They are fun, energetic, quick witted, but stern enough to whip me into a shape (other than a pear). I FOUND MY TRIBE... I swear we laugh, sweat, and get it done, TOGETHER. We root each other on, help each other out, and it makes the grueling workouts go by faster. I have been with SWITCH for about 45 days now and in these 45 days I can't express how much better I look and feel. My flexibility has increased (to help minimize injury when I play tennis), I am able to do more squats and bridges (for firmer legs & butt), and an old pair of pants that wouldn't fit at all before fit just fine and I was able to dress it up for a recent friend's baby shower (WIN)! So if you are on the fence about SWITCH or looking for a place that is just as much fun as is workout, give it a try. SWITCH helped me take control of my body and I look forward to going because I know I'm gonna have fun and get my butt kicked at the same time (WIN-WIN)... You rock!!! read more

I absolutely love switch fitness! They offer so many classes from boot camp, pilates, heated pilates, yoga, Barre and so many more!  You will never get bored because you are always able to "switch" it up. They have 2 rooms, 1 heated and 1 non heated. Showers are also available if you are short on time and cant make it home before your next outing. The classes are fun and it's a very warm and welcoming environment!  They are very motivating and can get you out of whatever rut you may be in. There is no judgment and everybody goes at their own pace.  I highly recommend Switch fitness and have been to several other gyms! This is by far the best! I also wanted to add that I am recovering from shoulder surgery. There is a lot that I am still unable do with my shoulder. This review is long overdue! I have been a member since early 2020, right before all the pandemic closures. This local boutique studio is a hidden gem in the Elk Grove community! The instructors... I've taken classes with Courtney, Katrina, Megan, Jamie, and Cheleen, and they are all such great instructors. Love the energy they bring to the class. They offer great modifications and I don't feel weird or out of place when working out while pregnant either. Not only do I get a good workout in, but I love every sweaty moment of it! The classes... There are a variety of different classes, ranging from HIIT and Boot Camp, to Vinyasa and Barre, to Yin and Gentle Yoga. There's a type of class for everyone and their wants/needs. As opposed to other studios that offer a very niche or specific type of class, Switch Fitness lives by its name and promotes switching up your workout to train different sets of muscles, spices up the monotony of working out, and prevents workout boredom/fatigue. My favorites are Vinyasa, Yoga Sculpt, Barre, Boot Camp, Gentle Yoga, and PiYo (and there are so many more I haven't tried yet!). The studio... Clean, welcoming, spacious, and kid-friendly! Although a boutique, local fitness studio, Switch offers child care, so mothers can attend classes without having to worry about supervision for their children. What a big plus! With the pandemic, the studio takes extra precautions to clean their floors and equipment, as well as to limit class sizes to ensure proper distance. The owners... Jamie and D'Lee are co-owners of Switch Fitness and are also class instructors. They're super involved, welcoming, and definitely go out of their way to answer questions and make things as easy and relaxed as possible. On a closing note, many small businesses have struggled to keep their doors open due to the pandemic. I am SO GLAD that Jamie and D'Lee pulled through and we still have Switch Fitness around!
