We didn't come here expecting much but had a good time drinking beers and enjoying wings. Love that they're open late and still have specials. We were there late and I believe there was just a bartender who also acted as our server. Despite that, the server was friendly and helpful. I don't remember which wings flavor I liked best but they have a ton. Some tasted the same as others but overall the wings were good. Can't complain about the beers either. read more

Love coming to this location for brunch that is only on Saturday and Sunday starting at 11 am. This is our first time here after lifting Covid restrictions. I'll tell ya all it's a bit strange not having to wear masks going in or at the table. We ordered Streak & Eggs with toast and a Benny. Steak was cooked to perfection eggs runny and snotty just the way my hubby likes it, my Benny eggs were soft to medium both came with hash browns. Our beverage of choice was Cesars nice and spicy. Our server Nora was awesome, with some great Dad jokes that had us laughing. When you drive up from the street it looks closed due to the outside getting a face lift, It's NOT. They made part of the parking lot into a very large out door patio very well set up. We choose to sit inside due to the heat and smoke from the forest fires. We are definitely repeating customers! My friend and I stopped in here late on a Friday. Due to recent laws, they were unable to sell alcohol after 10pm. I ordered one of the salads and my friend ordered the Impossible burger. Unfortunately, when his burger came out we could tell it was not the Impossible burger (which is supposed to be vegan). When he asked about it, the server told us that it was their version of a veggie burger, not the Impossible burger. Turns out it also had dairy in it so he couldn't eat it. I've had takeout from here a few times and all of those few times it has been unappetizing. The steak bites are like miniature tires. The beef dip tasted like sand and tough meat. I recently hosted an event at the Canadian Brew House in the University District, and I couldn't be more happy with the service and the hospitality. Kayla helped us get the event all planned and coordinated doing a wonderful job. Kenzi was our host for the evening, and she did everything to make sure that our event ran smoothly. The three young ladies who were our servers (sorry I forgot their names) also did a spectacular job and tolerated our antics and rowdiness. AWESOME Wing Wednesday deals!! I would especially recommend this franchise to vegetarians because of this -- a lot of restaurants don't include cauliflower wings in their WW deals, and a lot of restaurants ALSO don't even have flavouring options for cauli wings. Brewhouse offers cauli wings at the same discount as chicken wings on Wednesdays along with having the same sauces/rubs available for them. There are plenty of other delicious options I've tried and I honestly believe this chain is underrated considering its huge variety of offerings and how accommodating to different diet types it is. I love this place, I've been coming here for a couple of years because they're the only place I found in Calgary that gives you a free entrée on your birthday so I highly recommend... I also really enjoy the fact that they don't pressure you to drink alcohol when I'm there with my kids obviously I am the DD and the wait staff are literally just as helpful as if we were drinking up a storm and therefore I'm a tire profit margin...... Also one of my neighbours is a three time NHL Stanley cup winner professional hockey player and he is literally in a massive photo of the Calgary Flames at the front door so he can't beat that. Good value.. The patio if you can get onto it Management comes by randomly to check in and see how you are liking everything $4.25 Corona and Twisted Teas on Tuesdays! Lots of parking in lot Extensive menu, something for everyone The bad: First impressions - for some reason the lower level is shut down so one must climb up to the second level and let me tell you those stairs need a good sweep/clean The bar floor also needs cleaning Fruit flies (more than normal) at bar Bartenders - female bartenders seem to care less about female patrons and cater to the males, oozing with greetings, introductions and compliments - awkward and weird! Before 5pm, much of the patio is closed as there are not enough servers so you may not get a seat outside on a nice day The music playing could be sooo much better. Had a decent time here for lunch with the fam- the niece & nephew love the poutine here and kids' menu options like the mini cheeseburger sliders, chicken nuggies with tots, and cotton candy for dessert. There's nothing like hockey-stick utensils and Team Canada jersey napkins to tell you you're in a hockey bar, and that you're welcome to (un-invite) yourself if you don't know what an off-side or icing is. My donair was humongous and the cheese was extra melty. I would have that again for sure, and the huge serving of golden garlic fingers that come free with their mobile app sign-up are an excellent table starter especially with all those bacon bits infused (along with their juices) into them. In terms of sports pub and brewhouse decor, I guess I prefer a warmer, Irish pub-like atmosphere with stained maple table and booth finishes, or German beerhall-style with long tables and warm lights strung along exposed natural wood rafters. In contrast, CBH's jet black painted walls, railings, chairs, and ceiling, and black booth upholstery gives off the feels of being stuck in a huge dark echoing cave. I can tell you that feeling intensifies to 11 when you're shoulder to chest with drunken crazed Canadians at 10:51 PM and overtime is underway. Given its name, I could just shut up and enjoy my poutine and come to grips with the new "Canadian brewhouse" style, but I'll stick to more traditional comfortable settings for sports and pub gatherings since they're not yet lost to the city. read more

We've gotten a few meals from Brewhouse in the last month. They've all been hot, fresh, and large portions. Kids meals always leave enough for lunch the next day and they love the candy floss. I've recently had the smoked meat sandwich which was STACKED with meat and also the Same Team Burger which was delicious. Hope to be able to bring the family in whenever some form of normalcy returns. Thanks for staying open through the up and down and providing great meals in strange times. Came here on Saturday, so it was a busy night. Gave the host our name and she told us it was going to be a 20-40 mins wait. We were fine with it until we seen others who came after us getting seated. That really pissed me off. My husband went and ask another host if there was seating available for two. BAAAM! There was so many available table. The guy took us to a table right away. I think the girl host was too lazy to walk us upstairs or was just really stupid and don't know how to host. ANYWAYS... it was Saturday so I got the rib eye and shrimp special. The food was good. We went out for my son's birthday, appetizers were fantastic - Cactus Chips, Taters Supreme and the Wagyu Beef Gyoza, all great! The mains left a bit to be desired. Rice bowl, all good, chicken sandwich, also good, but the two poutines were meh, my husband makes better gravy, but the the least impressive was my son's steak. Huge line of fat right through the centre, and I'm not talking marbling, like 3cm of fat winding through the centre of his steak, as well as another huge line of fat along one side. Please get better cuts of meat, or charge way less for your steaks. We were craving nachos this day, so the Brewhouse was the closest pub. This place use to be owned by two pilots that called it The Flight Deck, and it was bad (not good). It's a cool two story pub with lots of TV's everywhere and a nice atmosphere. The nachos were really good - and huuuge! It's hard to screw up nachos (although I could name a few places that do), and they were great. We also had steak bites, which were sooo good. The overall theme is a Canadian-inspired sports bar with several TVs and Canadian themed memorabilia lining the walls. The brewhouse has been opened for less than a month, so the staff is still fairly new and getting into the groove of things. I've been here a few times and every visit I would get 3-4 different servers. Talk about over-serving and confusion... I was asked more than once if I wanted drinks and if I enjoyed my food. I also disliked how there wasn't a hostess to greet guests inside. You seat yourself, but the servers don't really acknowledge you and it ends up being awkward standing around waiting for a table. Two pubs have come and gone from this establishment, so when a friend mentioned it was re-opening as another pub I didn't have very high expectations. I'm so glad I gave this place a chance because we are pretty much here on a weekly basis! As a Canadian themed sports bar, their menu is heavily built around it. Poutine? Check. Montreal smoked meat sandwiches? Check. Burgers named after John Candy and Rita McNeil? Check! Usually our weekly rendezvous to Brewhouse is on Wednesdays for wings night. $4.80 for a pound of wings (classic or boneless with your choice of over 30 flavours? The possibilities are endless!) and $7.50 tankards of every beer on tap. My favourite flavours would have to be chipotle mango and hotty-yaki. I have ventured off the wings though! I've tried the classic and nacho poutine (not really a fan of their gravy unfortunately), garlic fries (super garlicky but the fries get soggy from the melted cheese), fried pickles (yum!) and the donair pizza (also yum! A close second to Seniore's I must say) They have food and drink specials everyday ($4.25 for two topping 8" pizzas on Sundays - who wants to cook on Sundays anyways?!) and I'm still due to try their $1 taco Tuesdays and $0.35 jumbo prawns Thursdays! After watching two former restaurants in this location disappear it's nice to see a restaurant open with several other established locations around Alberta. They even had staff in from other locations to help train and get the Calgary staff up to speed. Enjoyed a rare lunch date on the patio with hubs while the kids were at a party. Our server was in from GP and awesome..friendly, helpful and not pushy. The menu is quite large and it took a while to narrow our choices down. I think I changed my mind 4 times. Love the names and little muses that are integrated in with your menu selections. We decided on burgers. Hubs went with the John Candy and I opted for the Backyard Blackened Burger with a side of Buffalo Chicken Poutine. A massive amount of food arrived. The burgers were huge. One thing I did notice is one conjures up images of blackened food when they see it as a menu option. I expected a blackened spicy burger. But nope. Next to no spice was detectable on the burger. Plain and simple flavours. Very delicious however. Washed as much as we could down with a beer from their delightful beverage menu. I went there last night and all I can say is this was one of the best dining experiences I have had in a very long time- but not necessarily because of the food. I go out quite often and find that waitresses/waiters do the bare minimum when it comes to 1) interacting 2)checking on us 3) being present or visible incase we need anything- so naturally when it comes to tipping I have become more and more stingy and apprehensive. However, our waitress last night was beyond fantastic. We had some teenage boy come up to our table from another table requesting we turn our phone light off because we were reading the menu and it was "in his eyes" from 50ft away (totally breaking social distancing rules). The waitress apologized as well as the hosting staff, though it was out of their control and not their responsibility. They went above and beyond to make sure we were alright as well and us free dessert. Our waitress checked on us very often, the manager apologized for the strange boys behaviour, they got us refills frequently and this made the experience MUCH more enjoyable. Now this particular waitress was the very first I have come across that earned every cent of her tip. Overall, the food was very good and I wouldn't think twice about coming in again. read more

This used to be my go to neighbourhood pub and it's gone so downhill the last few visits we've made I will not be returning unless there is some kind of change in management or staff. My boyfriend has had hair in his burger ( it was so gross) , bugs in his beer and now this last time we had to sit at a dirty booth and were there for over 10 minutes without anyone bringing us menus or even asking if we'd like a drink. I am struggling with this review here. Like really struggling between a 1 star and a 4. On several occasions we have ordered pizzas here for various functions, they are really good and the fact that that they offer GF crust was one of the reasons we do order from here. We had ordered 5 or 6 pizzas for a hockey party and all were demolished and finished off by hungry kids and parents except for the GF one, as there were only 2 people on the team who had gluten intolerance/sensitivity, about half of the veggie GF remained, I was the lucky parent who took that one home to "enjoy" later. Come 9:30, I had to have me a slice of that delicious veg pizza, admittedly, it was fantastic, the crust for GF was excellent. SEVERE FOUL and points lost for the short and curly embedded in the cheese. Dry heaving, just thinking about it. Really sad about this and will take a long time to recover, unfortunately. read more
