    Nice outdoor area

It's confusing why people leave 1 star reviews over business hours, like maybe you're frustrated, but very sad that you're never going to give them a chance and enjoy their ice cream. Idk how they do it, but they somehow offer 24 flavors of soft-serve! I had a butterscotch soft serve with peanut butter sauce. I loved it! Best cup of ice cream I've ever had

We randomly stopped here for ice cream a few days ago and were pleasantly surprised to find an extensive menu available as well. While we just stuck to ice cream this time- delicious, especially my oreo sundae - we are planning to go back to get a full meal sometime. Outdoor seating is available. Please note it is cash only.

The Canalside Cup is about as back in the alley as it gets in terms of a local place that serves up good stuff, has been around for a while yet because of it's low profile not even a lot of locals know that it exists (informal work poll where of the six people I asked about TCC not one had ever heard of the place yet the current owner(s) are in their 11th year). The menu is larger than you would expect with a full menu of hard/soft ice cream, sundaes, drinks, banana splits, toppings/dips and a good sized menu of your cardiologist's favorite fried apps, entrees and platters. Speaking of the menu, I would love to share more details or a link but sadly TCC does not have a website and their FB page does not list their menu so you'll just have to trust me on this one. The few things that keep this place from being five star would little nitpicky stuff like they are cash only, the parking lot/area is small and the bathroom/port-a-john situation is less than ideal. But, on the positive side both times that I was there the customer service was fab as were the menu items that they rendered for us (various soft serve flavors-hot dogs-cheeseburger-sundaes). If you go: Don't forget to bring the greenbacks as TCC is cash only, don't forget that TCC is only open seasonally from March-October (they close for the year this Sunday), ideally you've taken care of your bathroom needs in advance, you have your insulin chaser + your defib paddles at the ready because it's all about the grease and the sugar here but most importantly you enjoy the ride up/down 611 along the canal/river and the unique setting which adds to TCC's rural roadside charm.

Better view of the menu for anyone curious.

First off, if anyone says they don't like this place it's because they came here with entirely the wrong expectations. Seating is entirely outdoor and on you to find. Clean up is also on you. This is a genuine gem tucked right away from big roads and crowded streets where you can eat well for $10. A little jewel of 70's era roadside food that'll warm any parent's heart and send the kids crazy for nostalgia.

Our favorite ice cream place, but good dinner food too. Be warned though... it's cash only there. Credit cards are not accepted.

Cool place, kind of an old school vibe. Great soft serve. The only negative are the damn motorcycles constantly going by.

Great little roadside ice cream and burger shack bumping '50s hits over the speakers. Reminiscent of simpler times. Remember- cash only!

The parking lot is shared with another company so it can get crowded. The inside has an open area so the line can curl around and towards the door. You can eat in a small area along the front window or find a table. Space is limited so a lot of people opted to just eat outside. There's a big chalkboard along the wall that my kid got a kick out of drawing on. The staff was mostly friendly young kids. They have a lot of flavors to choose from. I went with a small cookies and cream. The serving was pretty big! I have to say I agree with some other Yelpers that it's good ice cream, but it's not GREAT blow your mind away in the flavor department. My son got a mix of vanilla and chocolate and I felt the same way when I sampled his, it was good, but missing a notch or two in the flavor department ..... Of course he thought it was awesome and the best ice cream in the world! Prices were $7.25 for a couple of scoops in a cup. I thought it was pretty fair. Good stuff, but not great. My expectations were much higher for the lines I've seen this place have. Thanks guys!

One of the nest Ice cream eateries I have been to in a very long time. Space is consistent with an ice cream shop having eat in seating and grab and go cooler and also baked goods options. What a gem of a place in this beautiful little town! We were driving around Easter weekend and…read morestumbled upon this shop where it was filled with so many fun flavors to choose from. We landed on cannoli and cookies and cream and were both THRILLED. In fact, I'm normally, NOT a fan of cookies and cream and it was delicious! The service was quick and friendly, we even had a chance to sit outside and enjoy the gorgeous weather and river views as we finished our ice cream. If you are looking for a place to spend the afternoon I would head to Englishtown, walk around and stop for a treat. It can be a cute romantic adventure or easily a family friendly one. We can not wait to return.

Hate to say but we drove about 30 mins to come try this place (was just looking for somewhere new)…read more They advertise soft serve but did not have any when we got there. Ok, no biggie. So my daughter got vanilla, wife got some churro flavor and I got vanilla chocolate chip (no offer of cookie dough to my dismay). My daughter took one taste and hated it, didn't eat it and threw it out (she's not all that hard to please with vanilla ice cream). I tried it and had to agree. Mine tasted like that too but with chips. I'd say it had zero vanilla flavor, or any flavor, and it wasn't sweet at all. Really blah ice cream. Not good at all. My wife didn't really like hers either. Definitely would not come back. On a positive note, there were lots of other people sitting out there (it was July 4th) and seemed to be enjoying their ice cream. So who knows. We didn't like it.
