You know when you're in Collingswood for a street fair and you think you deserve something because you felt like you walked approximately 3.9 miles (then you realize you've only walked 4 blocks but it seemed longer because it was so crowded)? Yeah, that feeling. We stopped here post lunch (don't judge), and I decided to try the gelato. OK, $4 for a tiny cup - in the back of your head, your brain is whining, "But you could buy a huge box of ice cream in the grocery store for that price, " but your stomach is saying "Shut up, brain, me want sweets." Awesome :) Visited for the first time today and picked up some hot cocoa bombs. Too bad they're seasonal because the concept was so cool. They tasted great! I would recommend putting less milk in if you wanted a richer flavor. They were delicious. Can't wait to see what new items they put out! Also staff was very helpful. read more

Adorable & inviting, colorful store w really good chocolates! They have a nice selection and boast my 3 favorites - chocolate covered pretzels, bark and nonpareils - and even GIANT ones at that! You can also find 'old school' candy here and unique little items / gifts. A wonderful thing is that they'll let you sample ANY ITEM YOU WISH TO TRY. I've already reviewed The Candy Jar's old spot, but oh well -- it's a new day. And a new year. And a new location. The Candy Jar is now even more dangerous than before. At least the last time I lived in Colls, I was on one side of town and TCJ was on the other. We had a safe space between us, so I'd only stop in every now and again. Those days are over. Now I just need to walk up a street, cut through the PATCO/police lot, squeeze through that random alley and...yep there it is. Right across the street. Right in the center of town. Oozing with all its pretty sweet treats. Their business concept hasn't changed. The space doesn't look much different than what I remember from their other location either. And they'll still ask you what you want to sample when you visit. I've recently become attached to their butter mints, but they have so many wonderful, classic candies, like candy necklaces, those root beer things, and even Mary Janes (seriously though, who actually likes Mary Janes? Eep). Plus all the chocolate, of course. So many varieties! I can't trust myself not to check in at least weekly. Yesterday, for example, I had a terrible day at work, dealt with a million hours of traffic and instead of walking in my house, I just zombie-walked to TCJ instead. I stumbled in this evening after having dinner nearby. The giant popsicle in the window caught my eye. I saw it the first time I walked by as well. I actually had no idea it was a candy store until I looked through the actual door. My brother and I decided to take a peek inside and boy are we glad we did!!! It is soooooooo adorable in here! It's like going back in time to the good ol' days with real candy stores. They have counters with backlighting that highlight all of their delicious treats! There are so many to choose from that it's almost impossible to decide. So we decided to just get a whole lot of candy! Lol! I love that you are charged by weight so I could literally ask for one or two pieces of each and just pay one price. This worked out well for us since it was our first time and we really just wanted to try EVERYTHING. Almost everything is available in milk chocolate AND dark chocolate. The quality is excellent. So far, I think the pecan clusters are my favorite! My brother tried a chocolate covered red velvet Oreo which he thought was delicious. They have chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate covered marshmallows, jellies, cremes, caramels, cherry cordials...the list goes on and on. In addition to the yummy chocolate counters, they have lots of old school favorite candies as well as little trinkets and gifts. The woman behind the counter was sweet. They have cute little brown bags. I honestly just loved it here. I'm lucky I don't live nearby or my waistline would grow and my wallet would shrink. Their prices are a little high...that would be the one drawback. Worth it for a once in a while treat. You HAVE to stop in! My daughter and I road our bikes to the candy jar in Collingswood this past weekend. I was telling her about whistle pops they are lollipops that are also musical instrument. So much fun. While walking around downtown today we popped into the Candy Jar. So glad we did! My niece wanted some candy which was the motivator to go in. Once in we were offered a sample of Gelato. Wow! The gelato is delicious! So many flavors and such a cute display. We all settled on getting a gelato. All of the candy looked amazing too. I will definitely be back to try some! Just stopped by today with my friend Chelsea, this shop is decorated so cute it's bright pink with vintage pictures hanging up and there is tons of delicious candy. The ladies are so sweet and immediately engaged us in a lovely conversation then offered us a free sample! We had the milk chocolate Swedish fish and they're incredible I may be addicted now haha & as a whole this place is so cute, the candy is spectacular and the ladies who own it are amazing. Such a cute old time candy shop. They have memorabilia that is for sale. The chocolate, however, is the star of the show. It's literally chocolate covered everything- twinkies, Oreos, Swedish fish, and pretzels. Then, they have AMAZING chocolate covered peanut butter items. It was all so good!! Had my first visit at The Candy Jar today. I almost walked by I had my two kids with me and didn't want to be bombarded with the screams for candy. But my inlaws were with me and we decided to go in. I am so glad I did. I wanted to get something special for my husband who is currently deployed. I found his favorite, candy cigarettes. I ended up getting him a case and half of them! That's 38 boxes! The owner kept telling us to try a free sample and so we did. It was a pumpkin salted caramel. SO DELICIOUS! While eating it, my two year old held up her pack of candy to the owner to show her. The owner gave it to her for free. She then asked me who the candy cigarette were for. I told her I was sending them to my husband. She asked where and I told her that he was deployed overseas. Not only did she give me the candy for free, but she let me pick out a chocolate covered pretzel to help with my stress. This woman made my day. It's been a rough week and for someone to go out of their way like that is unbelievable. I will never forget her and will continue to come back to her for candy! read more

Our first visit today. What a cute shop, such a friendly woman behind the counter. She offered us a free sample of a chocolate covered oreo. I was so surprised. No one gives out samples anymore. But it's a great idea..because that's what made us buy more! The chocolate they use is excellent!!so delicious!the chocolate covered blueberry pie oreos were incredible. I wanted to go back for more!we also got a white chocolate covered pretzel with Twix, and a white chocolate covered pretzel with white kit kats. They were generous in the chocolate! I was in Collingswood for a bridal shower and stopped in here to look around afterward. What an awesome place! The staff are extremely friendly and offer a sample to anyone who comes in. The vanilla buttercreams, dark chocolate sponges and chocolate covered pretzels are all amazing. There are several varieties of chocolate pretzels.
