Let me start by saying I've been a patron of this establishment for years. The taste of the food is usually consistent with a couple of hiccups here and there. With that being said, two weeks ago I placed an order for 3 dozen creampuffs and scheduled a pick-up for 1:30p on Saturday (4/4). I arrived at 12:50p as I was in the area after traveling from Philly. Upon my arrival there was a line out the door and wrapped around the porch in 80 degree weather. Initially I bypassed the line thinking they must of been walk-in orders given that in the previous times I've placed orders they were always prepared with a slip stuck in the box(es) and you're in/out under 10-15mins. When I learned that everyone in line were customers that had placed orders, and were waiting to pick up, I took my place in line. During my 2.5+ hour wait myself (along with other customers) learned the following: 1. Napoleon's kept taking orders up until close the previous day (Fri. 4/3). That was shocking given that they usually stop taking orders days ahead of time. 2. They were giving some customers 50% off who were waiting since 11:30a but then giving other customers 10% off, and some were charged full price. At one point, a worker stood at the register and literally said "I'm just spit balling numbers here." 3. The staff at Napoleon's justified the hours long wait time because two staff members "called out." Here's my issue hence the low rating: While I am sympathetic to being short staffed, as a previous restaurant co-owner, being short staffed was not the problem today. The problem was disorganization and poor management. In my 2.5+ hour long wait I saw a staff member run in & out of the building several times taking people's names and original pick up time over and over again. How many times do you need to capture the same information? It was a waste of time. Secondly, nothing was prepped. Napoleon's took orders up until Friday yet they were in the process of baking cream puff shells, and making the filling the whole time I waited. None of it was prepped the night before or even the morning of. Thirdly, what they decided to charge the folks I waited with had no rhyme or reason. They gave one guy 50% off, another 10%, and then charged another full price. Either do it for all who waited, or don't do it at all. It's a slap in the face to people who spent valuable time in 80 degree weather to try and support your disorganized establishment. At 4:00p when my order was finally ALMOST ready, and I was told to pay full price, I raised this observation to the staff. I informed them my time, along with others, is valuable and the discount should be across the board. I was told "Ok, you can leave." I did exactly that. While the cream puffs are decent, they do not justify how the operation was mishandled and then the shitty customer service on top of it. It's simply the principle of it. I will never go back, and I encourage future patrons to not give it your time of day. You're simply a $ to the money hungry owner, and they do not care about customer satisfaction. You've been warned. read more

I saw this place on tiktok and was amazed because I am a cream puff lover! I decided to try it today since I'd be in the area. The location can be easy to miss, so look for the dark green sign out front as you approach. There's plenty of parking in the front. The store is located in an older building with a large patio space. There's plenty of seating to chill and enjoy on a nice day. There's also a cafe next door, but it didn't seem open when I passed by. When you enter, the store has a cozy feeling, decorated with memories and cutie knick knacks. I was greeted by the young ladies working there and they were happy to answer my questions even though I could've gathered the information from the boards. I got a full box of 16 for $19.50 and lucky for me, they took card. I thought they would be premade, but as I was waiting for my order, I saw them pipe the cream puffs in front of me! As for the cream puffs themselves, they are heartily stuffed, albeit a bit messy. I got the vanilla, pistachio, and banana flavors. The filling is similar to like a pudding filling and the flavors taste artificial. The pistachio flavor is like that of a classic pistachio ice cream flavor, similar to almond and cherry flavoring. The banana was like a laffy taffy kind of banana flavor. They're still tasty, but I prefer a pastry cream filling for cream puffs and more natural flavors. read more

Due to their limited hours of operation it took me a while to try their desserts but they were worth the wait! I had to try all of the flavors of course and cookie bars. My favorite flavors were pistachio and lemon but the vanilla and chocolate were great as well. Banana was my least favorite, it tasted a bit artificial to me. The cream in all of them tasted fresh and light which was dangerous and made it easy to over eat! The staff were very sweet, I would definitely come back. The pistachio cream puff was definitely something special. If you like pistachio pudding don't skip out on these. I enjoyed these cream puffs but they do leave some things to be desired. The cream puffs are egg forward and a little heavy. The filling was a thick pudding almost a standard cook and serve chilled. All in all I was happy with the order but there are other cream puffs that are the same driving distance that are a lot better. My biggest issue was with the owner. Stopped by here on my way home from volunteering at AWA in Voorhees. Cute little shop with 3 main cream puff flavors (chocolate, vanilla, pistacchio) and one seasonal rotating flavor. Ordered one of each and the seasonal which was banana. They are filled right there when you order, filling is fresh and thick and the puffs are soft and chewy. Wow, I love this place- the creampuffs are amazing! Verify their hours before you go because they've been wrong online, and you can also call in your order ahead of time which I did. I got a dozen (they give you a baker's dozen automatically!) and they did NOT last long. Everyone looooved them. I got a mix of their 3 permanent flavors- vanilla, chocolate, and pistachio and 1 of the rotating flavor which was banana. It's hard to say which of the permanent flavors was my fav but the pistachio had an almond extract taste to it which I love so that may be it. The banana was good but it just has an overwhelming artificial flavor to it, I wouldn't be able to eat more than 1 at a time. I def look forward to trying other rotating flavors when they have them! They also have some bars and other items available, they were baking carrot cake when I was there. Stopped by to try this place after months of wishing i could go. Overall it is really good and small enough shop where you feel like it is things done in house. We tried a dozen (vanilla, chocolate and the rotating flavor: coconut). The fillings were good the only thing that i wish was better was the puff themselves, as they didnt taste as fresh as i would like (still fresh but prob night before or am batch and we went around 4p). I have been past this place so many times. It is in an old Victorian house with a large veranda. I just never noticed the sign for cream puffs. I made a note and and yelp bookmark to try this place. Last Friday I was in the area and my daughter and I stopped in and ordered 4 cream puffs. We chose Vanilla, Chocolate and Pistachio. The person behind the counter fills the puffs to order. We tried them as soon as we got in the car and yes they lived up to the reviews. The Pistachio was our favorite but the Vanilla and Chocolate were also very good. It is great to have these small, independent and unique places in South Jersey. I will definitely come back next time I get a craving for a cream puff. read more

We finally got them for ourselves after two years due to the hours and our schedule and it tasted the same as we remember. The cream puffs were fluffy, creamy, and delicious. The crème puffs are spectacular and the people are too! I picked some up on the way to my last radiation treatment to ring the bell with the radiation staff. I mentioned it only because I had to take a call from my doctor. The two women upfront started clapping and whooping it up for me and then the rest came from the back and clapped too. Cute place! This place has been around f o r e v e r! & you can tell the second you walk in that it's an authentic family business. It feels like home. I left with a bakers dozen and had 3 chocolate, 3 vanilla, 3 coconut, and 4 pistachio. All of the cremes taste the same with a hint of differences. The shells are always soft and the creme is perfect being not overly sweet but not bland either. These are the best creme puffs in the area though! This mom and pop place has the most delicious light fluffy cream puffs you will ever put in your mouth. Be prepared to loosen your pants a few notches as you won't be able to stop at just one.
