Service & Atmosphere: Five Stars The service here was truly exceptional... super quick, genuinely friendly, and so very kind. The interior is decorated well with a fun, slightly nautical vibe, but my absolute favorite feature was the artistic touch on the way to the restroom. There are these vibrant wall paintings that are clearly designed to be photo ops, and I loved that they encouraged patrons to snap a picture. Full disclosure: I lived in Georgia for 12 years, and nothing is ever going to beat a seasoned, authentic Florida crab boil in my mind. However, this boil is pretty darn good in its own right. I went with the Non-Spicy Captain Boil (which is a mixed seafood option) and loaded it up with lobster, potatoes, and an egg. The seasoning was flavorful and well-balanced, though it leaned a little less toward the heavy Cajun spice blend I'm used to. It delivered a scrumptiously satisfying seafood experience. The new coconut curry sauce was delicious and paired so well with the shrimp! I'm normally not a fan of coconut too much but we savoured every bite of this one. We also got lobster with the captains boil sauce, with fries and seafood fried rice! Waitress was able to give us recommendations. The coconut curry sauce with shrimp was what she told us to try. I took my family here for my dad's birthday and got their Holiday Feast special for the second time which included 2x Lobster, 2x Snow Crab, Shrimp, Mussels, Clams, Calamari, Fries, Seafood Fried Rice, Chicken Fried Rice, Okra, Broccoli, Sausage, Corn, Potato and Boiled Egg. We tried all the sauces: garlic, lemon pepper, cajun and captain's boil. The garlic and the lemon pepper sauces are great with the vegetables and the clams and mussels. My husband wanted some seafood for his birthday. I would have love to go to Toronto for more selection but my son had too much homework so decided to stay in ssauga. We ended up going to Captain's boil. It was lunchtime but it was not busy at all so we got our food quickly. We ordered the Matey's feast to share. It came with a pound of shrimp, pound of mussels, sausage, 2 small corn, Cajun fries with fried shrimp and seafood fried rice. The food was ok. We ordered medium spice but both my son and I felt it was way spicier than a medium. The fried rice was good. It came with lots of shrimp. The Cajun fries was way too spicy, it really numbs your mouth. The shrimp and mussels were quite tasty and the sauce saved the day. Would I come back here? Meh, I think I would try another place. I find it too expensive for what you get. I could get better seafood somewhere else. Got the chilli on the side and it really slaps. Great dipping sauce for the fries. We were full and satisfied. Service was quick but we were the only table at 2 pm. My partner and I had a reservation for 8PM on a Friday night and when we came, we were told sorry there are no tables for you since we're packed. Is that not the point of having a reservation?! We were waiting for 15 mins before anyone even came up to the front! This is already with the fact that they called the day before asking if I can change it to 8PM since they made a mistake in their system. I was outraged! People trust that once their reservation is confirmed (both via phone and text) that you'll have a table. The manager said that he will give us a 10% off card for next visit (all while not wearing his mask properly at all) and I just left. Why would I come back when I was refused service in the first place. The girl in front of me was also complaining since they've been waiting for 2 hours after putting their name on a wait list and being called to come back. It was honestly an absolute mess! We were also told that there was only one server that day working and that she cannot take on more tables - this is a management and staffing error that should not impact my experience. I also counted about 10 ish staff members standing around so why aren't they helping the server? I'm glad I left and probably will not be coming back to this location. Exceeded expectations! As of June 2023, mp of snow crab legs is $37.99, dungess crab is $54.99, king crab legs is $78.99. It's a little pricey but it's worth the price, each portion was a more than 1lb, seafood is extremely fresh. Server is very friendly. My only small complaint is the sauces are too salty. Came to Capt Boil and met my sister. My sister had initially told the crew that another family is coming so we asked to be seated on either table beside my sister. Both vacant. We were refused. The staff said we had to sit at the other end of the restaurant due to server ability but the area was already very filled and busy. But few minutes in this argument about being seated, a couple had already come and sat on the same side where we had requested to seat. How they could sit others immediately yet refused our group in the same area is beyond reason. We were told this is restaurant policy. I do not see how the staff or the restaurant policy is not to sit a party together or even the next table. The staff went to ask her peer (or mgr) and returned to finally sit us. She could have provided us the menu so we could start ordering and not sit there waiting and wondering if we are welcome at the restaurant and watching her serve two more tables then talked to another server looking and pointing at our table discussing our party. But maybe that was not her job or that it was not her area of service or that is your so-called "restaurant policy." I know there's restaurants guidelines on sitting guests or balancing the servers but there's also something called accommodating families or parties who come to your restaurant because it's a family favourite, a tradition we observe or a special occasion we come for. And easily it was ruined because the timing we arrived didn't fit into your "restaurant policy." Shoutout to AMBER who served us after this hullabaloo and made this very unwelcoming and disappointing experience to little more pleasant so at the least we could satisfy our supposed Captain's Boil craving and the family reunion we were supposed to have. Much of it ruined by your restaurant's sitting policy. I came here for the Endless Shrimp and Fries one day before it was due to end. Unfortunately, that means they were absolutely slammed. It took them 20 minutes to assign us a server. After that, service was decent. I had a great time guzzling down my 1L stein of beer, and the shrimp never stopped coming. Because of how busy busy it was, the shrimp was cooked for the minimum amount of time for it to be considered safe, and was not processed at all. All shrimps still had their heads still on, sharp stabby parts intact, and the grossest part - intestines still in there. I felt like by the end, I had consumed at least one mouthful of sand. The seasoning also didn't have enough time to sink in to the shrimp, but the leftover seasoning made a great dip for the fries. Prior to coming here, I've always just frequented the downtown location - this location definitely delivered and I'm super glad that there's one closer to home now. What has remained the same is the slow service for the past two servers we have had. The first time we ate at this location the service was slow and the food took a long time to come out. However, this time the food came out surprisingly quicker. We ordered two pounds of mussels, one pound of clams, two pounds of snow crab legs, and a sausage. It was delicious! We spent a bit over $100 for just the two of us. What The Captain's Boil is missing over LA Boil is an AYCE menu. I'm glad to see a newly opened Mississauga branch of Captain's Boil! My significant other who has never tried the Captain's Boil before thoroughly enjoyed it and I found the experience here stacks up (if not better) than the other locations out there. Upon walking in I loved seeing the big brightly lit SAUGA sign and the wide open space and the super massive screen by the main bar area. The food was excellent. Everything arrived piping hot and fresh. We ordered the southwest lobster roll and ordered it with cajun fries instead of the regular at no extra cost (huge kudos for that). The cajun fries were crispy and were delightfully spicy. The lobster roll itself was loaded! The butter soaked toast enclosed the cajun mayo lobster with a lot of cheese and bacon bits on top. It was a bit on the salty side with all the contributing salty components so perhaps a reduction in salt would be good. We also went with a pound of shrimp in their signature captain's sauce with two corn (best bang for your buck if you were wondering!). The shrimp was fresh and sauce was amazing. This time it wasn't salty and was a perfect balance of garlic, spice, and lemon. The corn was buttery and creamy and soaks up all the sauce nicely. Minor hiccups occurred but was understandable being a newly opened restaurant. There was a slight order mix-up as another pound of shrimp arrived after we had gotten our order and the waitress looked rather confused. Otherwise, the service was great and our main waitress was really friendly and explained the menu and recommendations thoroughly. Waiters and waitresses were definitely attentive here and handled us well! I was semi disappointed we couldn't try the sizzling plate for dinner but if the feedback is good, perhaps it could also be offered as a dinner item. I should preface this review with the fact I had it delivered. So obviously there will be some drawbacks. I've had Captains Boil in the restaurant but that was in Markham so doesn't apply here. I did use that previous experience when picking my takeout order though. I went with calamari 3 ways, wings, rice, and a potato. Never ordered the potato before. It's literally a potato in a bag. I bit it like an apple. Tasted like potato. The calamari 3 ways wasn't divided up like I was expecting so I was getting random flavours. And even though it was a little cold and a little soggy it was still pretty damn good. A definite must order in-store. The main reason I ordered though was the wings. And sure enough they were great. Breading, size, and meat quality are all top notch. It's a little more expensive so it's not an every time wing order (plenty of other places to do that) but if you're just looking for a solid pound of wings I think these are some of the best you'll find. This is the fourth time being at this location. Since they just opened a couple of months ago, I did see there are many changes and improvements along the way. The first couple of times, we waited for roughly 10 mins in the lobby to be seated even though the place wasn't even full. Three staff came to address us, but none of them directed us to those available tables. Since they just started running the business, I understand that it takes time to improve the operational side of the business. And yes, for the fourth time, the improvement is obvious which I am glad to observe that. The waiters and waitresses are very friendly and energic. They come often and ask for additional requests and helps. The menu selection is very limited to a few seafood options and chicken slices. Also, they just three types of sharing orders other than the boiled seafood or chicken. However, I don't reduce the rating based on that since it's a franchise and they don't get a chance to add more options by themselves. I would say this place is definitely recommended as a group of people because the booth and the lounge are big to accommodate the size of the people. I came here to eat with some friends. I have been to the markham location before. The staff is very friendly. This only opened up a week ago so they don't have a liquor license yet, one of my friends was a bit disappointed but we understand. On the downside, the servers seemed a bit inexperienced (almost forgot to take 2/4 of our orders) and 2/3 of the stalls in the bathroom didn't have toilet paper. Regarding the food, I got a lobster roll. The amount of lobster in it was disappointing for the price. It tasted really good though. It was a Tuesday night and definitely not busy enough for any excuses to be made. The server recommended the CAPTAIN'S SEAFOOD FRIED RICE ($12) and I feel like I'm scarred by the amount of butter they put. I believe they use their signature captain's boil sauce and I don't think I'd want that sauce on anything. If you like it when your fried rice floats in a lake of extra salty butter, go for it. It's the weekend and it's time to celebrate after a hard week's work. Since there was nothing at home to eat, I decided to try to order from Captain's Boil as I was craving some seafood. I ordered the Mix and Match which included a choice of clam and shrimp and also a corn and potato. I chose a non spicy garlic option for the type of cooking style. It arrived on time. The delivery included a plastic apron or cover to keep myself clean while eating. It was a nice touch actually. Also, the food came all together in a plastic bag and the smell was deliciously garlicky. The taste did not disappoint as well and there was a tasty blend of garlic and butter. The clams were delicious and chewy and the shrimp was delicious and well cooked as well . The corn and potato had infused with the sauce and I was satisfied with my order. All in all, the order totalled $25.51 and I still have some shrimp and a potato left which should last me another day. I have been loving this location ever since I found out they opened a Captain's Boil in Mississauga. I have to say, this location is huge and it looks a lot nicer than most of the other locations I've been to. Upon entering is the bar area with TV screens and I think it is a nice casual spot to grab a drink while watching a sports game. After the bar area is the seating area. The seating area is huge with many tables and booths. There is a also a party room in the back. Service: I have visited this location several times and the service has always been consistently great. The servers are always welcoming and friendly. Food: Torced mussels-I love this appetizer, it is cheesy and flavorful. It is a nice appetizer to get before the mains. Lobster roll- Me and my friend wanted to try this. I love their version of the lobster roll. It isn't creamy but rather mildly spicy. Everything went together well. Cajun fries- I love fries and I think cajun fries is a staple item here. It goes well together with the seafood boil and I highly recommend ordering this as a side. Seafood boil-I have ordered king crab legs, snow crab legs, shrimp, mussels, clams, and crawfish. The seafood always tastes fresh, so picking which ones depends on personal preference. My favorite sauces include the garlic and the captain's boil signature sauce (a blend of the 3 sauces). I normally get the signature sauce though because I think it is a good combination of the other sauces, you can't go wrong with that! Overall I highly recommend checking this location out. Very cool newer seafood spot that if I were to compare to something in the USA would be Joes Crab Shack. The inside is bright and well designed. The menu was full of combo platters including crab legs, mussels, shrimp, etc. They give you bibs to stay clean bc they warm it can get very messy. For our visit here we kept it clean. I got the shrimp and scallop rice dish and Addy got the lobster roll. I'll save my opinion about his roll for his personal review. He'll give you the breakdown on it himself lol. However, the rice was okay. It came out very hot which was good. Just seemed a little expensive for a dish you can get at the Chinese restaurant for slightly less. They didn't have salt/pepper shakers on the table. Not sure if they'll be getting them at some point since they are fairly newer...not sure. Upon calling before hand to find out directions, she sounded very annoyed and answered with one word without any elaborations. Once I got there, I ordered and had a question about the menu.
