As someone who is gluten free and vegan I've always found it hard to find treats that are both. It'll be vegan but not gluten free or gluten free and not vegan. And if it is both that doesn't guarantee it l'll taste good! But EVERYTHING I've tried from this gem is glorious!!! Absolute favorite place ever. Having a Vegan Gluten-Free bakery in my lil home town (yes I know we are a city now) feels like the most magical place on earth. Just amazing...sweets so good I forgot to take pictures . Had a cranberry bliss bar, chocolate brownie and a cookie topped with "eggnog" icing-- none of it lasted long. We got there just after opening on a Saturday, had super friendly service and will happily be back. This is a "to go" place only, so don't plan on enjoying your treats in the litter shop. Open just a few days each week, I'd say plan on getting there earlier in the day rather than later, just to have the best selection -- not sure if the sweets get replenished during the day just due to the time it takes to make all this vegan and gluten free. I must say I'm from out of town and heard about this place through googling. There's no menu online so I didn't know what treats to expect. It's a small quaint bakery. No room to sit, which is fine. Walking in I was so excited to see it was all vegan AND gluten free. I'm always hesitant, because sometimes gluten free and vegan can be hard to accomplish the perfect taste and texture. While the shop is on the smaller side, there's still a good variety of items to try- different baked goods and flavor combinations. I just recently discovered The Caring Kitchen about a few months ago. For health reasons I went gluten free and after trying different sweet treats that are GF (side note...I have then biggest sweet tooth ever!!) nothing was really satisfying my craving. Came across TCK and OMG let me tell you, if you are GF or not this bakery is insanely good and satisfies my sweet craving. I don't know how she does it! I got the Dole Whip cookie and the frosting is straight out of Disneyland. Our household favorites are the oatmeal cookie sandwiches, the Oreo brownies and the coffee cake! We have tried multiple items and they are all superb. My recent trip was this past weekend for her 1 year anniversary, grabbed a few different items and got a sweet little goodie bag on the way out! The Caring Kitchen is the best thing to happen to Rancho Cordova for those of us who have a major sweet tooth and have to eat gluten free! This cute 100% gluten free and vegan bakery is located by Arby's in Rancho Cordova off of Sunrise. Every weekend I make my boyfriend swing by the bakery with a list of things I want and every single week I'm amazed with how delicious everything is. Thankfully he doesn't mind doing this for me, and even though he is a connoisseur of gluten, he has also been a big fan of a lot of the goodies from here as well. I often notice some extra treats that weren't on my list make it into the box that he ended up buying for himself LOL. These are honestly probably the best gluten free treats I've tried, and believe me, in the last 10+ years being gluten free I've tried so many and the others just don't compare. A gluten free bakery that is reasonably priced and serves delicious products! As much as I am a Pushkins fan, its awesome to have more GF options and access. I had always ment to try Caring Kitchens good at Folsom Farmers Market, but I never ended up making out there since I moved to the Sacramento area. Anyway, I went on opening day and snatched up some sourdough bread, a cookie sandwich, and a few cookies. All were really satisfying and I definitely felt guilty after indulging lol. Everything was really flavorful and I especially loved the bread. I should mention that the bread was baked by Gluten Off Bakery, who seemed to have some space there at the Caring Kitchen. Not sure if that's a permanent feature or not. Regardless, I love local GF baker's spotlighting and partnering with other GF bakers! The inside of the shop is pretty cute with a pink aesthetic and Star Wars Easter eggs for the observant fan. Staff were friendly and everyone was in good spirits for opening day. Bread was $12 and the cookies (which are quite large) were $4 each. I am really excited for this new brick and mortar business and hope to see it continue to grow! read more

I visited the Rancho location right after it opened and bought a keto peanut butter bar (I call it a "peanut butter millionaire bar"). When I got home, I was only going to eat part of it and save the rest for later. But it was so good, I ate it in one sitting- lol! I've eaten and baked a lot of gluten free desserts, and this bar didn't even taste "gluten free." The Caring Kitchen is the BEST. The treats are all SO delicious; you can't go wrong with anything you pick here. I've tried an array of things and every single one/flavor has been super amazing. And what's more is that they are all gluten and dairy free (and most allergens free actually) makes it even more great esp when you have dietary restrictions or just want to avoid toxic contaminants in our food supply today. As most have prob experienced it's hard to get the same texture and flavor with things that are gluten and dairy free but The Caring Kitchen does it to perfection - no exaggeration. My husband who's a tough critic not only can't tell it's gluten or dairy free but he actually will devour it (and that's saying something lol!) I also appreciate how much effort the owner puts into sourcing and preparation in order to make it safe for everyone who has to avoid the allergens. It's been one of the best places in Sacramento and I can say the Caring Kitchen is the only place of its kind. So...I don't have food allergies...and yet I still love these treats. The Hostess Cupcake is one of my all time favorites. The chocolate frosting is on point and even has the same texture as the original hostess cupcakes. But the whole cupcake tastes waaay better. I recently tried the espresso frosted cookie and I could not eat it fast enough! Sooo good. The cake pops are a great go-to. *Everything* is gluten free and vegan. So for those with dairy/wheat/egg allergies etc., you have the whole bakery to choose from. Plus, not only does Delaney make staples like chocolate chip cookies, cake pops, and keto chocolate peanut butter bars, but she is always concocting new cookie and cupcake options. I went a little later in the day to avoid the crowds but that also resulted in a few things being sold out. I was still able to snag a few favorites & new to me items. Cookie dough cheesecake - 10/10 as are all of her cheese cakes Coffee cake - 10/10 per my not vegan or GF hubby the best ever Dole whip cookie - 9/10 flavor was spot on but almost to sweet Eat your feelings (I think that's what it was called) - WTF/10 this cup of madness was beyond. I have literally been taking one bite a day because I don't want it to ever end. Carrot cake slice - 8/10 I could eat the frosting with a spoon. The flavor was there on the cake but something about the texture was off for me. Hostess cupcake - 10/10 I have to get 2 because my son meets me at the door to grab one. I love this place! The beautiful pink aesthetic of the logo and decor is gorgeous and inviting. The Star Wars theme as well is super cool. Love that the owner is a fellow Star Wars geek! It's so nice to have a gluten free, vegan bakery locally that also has so many delicious treats so I don't have to travel to the Bay Area every time I want something special. Staff is friendly. Prices are only slightly higher than say, Mariposa Bakery in Oakland, but not at all unacceptable given the quality you're getting and the convenience of being local to Sacramento. Caring Kitchen now has a 2nd location opening in Orangevale (spring 2025) which is super exciting! My wife and I love shopping here. I highly recommend! read more

I got totally confused as to where the shop was but the owner who answered the phone was so sweet and helped me to figure out what was going on. When I got into the shop, she assisted me with recommending some good treats. She was very sweet and you can tell she loves what she does! When I brought the treats to the party, I had a few myself and I have to say, they were incredible! I have no dietary restrictions but yet I plan on going back for myself in the future!
