    Ube and regular pandesal
    Winnie A.

Excited to see regular pandesal and ube pandesal. The bakery inside the food court and next to KP market gets the supply from a local bakery in Stockton. In addition, the bakery carries bread, cakes and cookies so there should be something for everyone.

The name might be a little confusing, so, just to be clear: KP Bakery IS NOT: the bakery inside of KP International Market, although there is also a separate bakery inside of KP International Market. You can buy different baked goods inside of the grocery store, but not these. KP Bakery IS: a stand-alone bakery inside of KP International Food Court (not inside of the grocery store), complete with its own check-out line and register. Functionally, it's like a grocery store inside of the food court. Between the end of last year and the beginning of this year, the bakery was fully remodeled. It recently opened up again around March or April. I'm not sure why it didn't have its own separate page yet, since its as much of an independent business as Teddy Boba, which is located across the food court from KP Bakery, and has its own Yelp page: https://www.yelp.com/biz/teddy-boba-rancho-cordova-2 Anyway, KP Bakery features a long row of glass display cases full of desserts, as well as shelves full of all kinds of pastries and breads. There is also a refrigerator full of assorted fresh mochi. I, however, come here mainly for the hot box full of Russian baked goods, such as piroshkis and cheburekis. Every time I checked in to the food court on Yelp during the bakery remodel/closure, I would caption my check-in, "I just want a piroshki." So, you can imagine how excited I was when they finally re-opened a few months ago, and I was finally able to order piroshkis again. . They had increased in price by about 50%, but that makes sense, since food costs have gone up so much over the past few years. That being said, I've had two since the re-opening, and, honestly, they're just not as good as they used to be. The filling is still on point, but, they changed the crust recipe, and I don't like it as much. The cheburekis, on the other hand, are amazing, and are my new favorite item. I've only had the chicken one, which kind of tasted like chicken gyoza and scallion pancakes wrapped into an amazing fried empanada crust. It was sooooooooo good. I've noticed that the bakery also carries lots of assorted Chinese buns, such as custard buns, ube buns, etc. I haven't tried any of these, but they look good, and seem to sell out fast. The reason I gave four stars instead of five is because I think they could do better with food safety. I've seen the employees handle food and cash back and forth without any use of gloves or sanitizer. On the other hand, the flavor of the baked goods can't be beat. I mean, okay, I'm no chebureki expert, but this was the best chebureki I've ever had in my life. Overall, I've been mostly satisfied with everything I've ordered here so far, and want to try lots of their other items, so I will definitely keep coming back :)

KP Bakery is inside KP International Market in the food court area. They have lots of pastries, cakes, and other baked goods. All looks delicious! The bakery is in between the supermarket and the food court. They have a lot of pastries outside of the bakery store area in the hallway too. The cake display is pretty, and many breads look pretty good on the shelves. The cashiers are fast and friendly. I will be back to try more items.

Love the newly renovated bakery inside the KP International Market! It is clean and new. They have their baking facilities right there. Large displays of a variety of pastries, breads and cakes! Friendly and quick counter service. Purchased a few items to try. All were very tasty and fresh! Delicious! Will be back to try more!

    Soggy cannoli :-(
    A M.

Everything looks good but most of the desserts are soft/soggy or dry. I really wanted a cannoli but I should have known from the condensation on the chocolate chips it would not be good. It was so soggy. The shell was cold and wet. The cream filling was cinnamon flavor??? No where did it say it was cinnamon flavor in the tags. Sigh. Just everything was bad. Don't do it. Spend the extra time and money driving to a real bakery or Italian restaurant to get a cannoli.

Strawberry roll crumbles upon slicing probably previously frozen for months and then thawed to sell
    Theresa F.

Based on the things I bought today I have to say it was below mediocre...to be accurate it was disgusting. The problem is that they sell old items that you would expect to be fresh and charge you a boat load of money. I had the red bean cakes that look like moon cakes and it was so old that it just crumbled when I bit into it. The strawberry roll tasted like it was previously frozen and had that freezer taste and also crumbled when sliced. Cake must have been in the freezer for several months and just thawed to sell. (Like grocery store cakes) The last items I bought were the savory meat pastries. These meat pastries were fresh but the flavor of each item was very bad, weird sour flavor and it was very unappetizing opening it up to see just a slab of flavorless tough meat. I'm sure that there are some fresh items that are good but you need to be selective and check for freshness and perhaps ask when they were baked because this bakery does not throw out their day old, week old or perhaps even months old (frozen) items. Substandard of any bakery as you would expect that all their items would be fresh. The price you pay is for fresh bakery items but the product you receive is for stale, old and expired products. Needless to say I was highly disappointed. What a waste of money. I will not be coming back.

    MOLDY "fresh" mango cake $5.25 - 8/29/24

I had been eyeing their cakes for awhile and I finally decided to try one and I picked the Fresh Mango cake. This was the first time I had bought a cake slice from KP Bakery. I come home and as I'm getting ready to remove the plastic, I see MOLD. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!! I'm sure the person who packaged it for me probably saw, but didn't care. They just wanted to get rid of it, thinking I wouldn't notice and eat it. I wasted $5.25 because it went straight into the trash. Never again! Do better KP! You need better quality control and inspection! There are mold spores all over the cake slice, on both sides and on top! This cake should've been thrown out probably a week ago! TERRIBLE!!

Bought 12 peroshki and got home to find he only packed 11. Looked at receipt and was charged for 12. Not happy about that. Bad first impression.

    Mold on cake.

Beware of the cashier/worker that doesn't use gloves when handling the pastries. He handles dirty money then touches your desserts.

On one occasion I was pushing my cart by the register to look at items arraigned across from the register and I was yelled at that I needed to pay. I explained I was going to the items for sale and the cashier told me I needed to leave my cart next to the register. I left my cart next to the register and she stood next to it and proceeded to stare me down as I went to look at the display with the items. The Tofu Soup from the food court area was average. There was barely any seafood but it tasted good. There was a large amount of kimchi served on the side with a side of rice. The cost was high considering the lack of ingredients in the soup. That smoky, perfectly-seasoned, straight-off-the-grill aroma that instantly makes you hungry even if you weren't before. Now let's talk about the food. I ordered the chicken rice plate, and I am not exaggerating when I say it was one of the most flavorful plates I've had in a long time. The kabob was: * Perfectly grilled * Juicy and tender (not dry AT ALL) * Seasoned all the way through not just on the outside * That beautiful slight char that gives it that authentic, smoky depth The rice? Fluffy, fragrant, and seasoned just right. Not bland, not greasy just balanced. Every bite had flavor. You can tell this isn't rushed food. It's made with care. And can we talk about the portions? Generous. You're leaving satisfied. But what really made this experience stand out was the customer service. Huge shoutout to Mohammed he was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely kind. The type of service that makes you want to come back. He made sure everything was fresh, answered questions with patience, and had that positive energy that elevates the whole experience. Great food is one thing but great hospitality makes it memorable. The whole setup feels authentic and comforting. It's giving neighborhood gem energy. The kind of place locals don't want to tell too many people about because they want to keep it to themselves but it absolutely deserves the hype. If you're in the area and craving: * Flavorful, juicy kabobs * A hearty rice plate that actually satisfies * Warm, welcoming service * A hidden food spot inside a grocery store This is your place. I purchased clearance food items that I later realized -- without even opening them -- were clearly not fresh and not safe to eat. This is especially serious to me because I have children, and I rely on stores to sell food that is safe for families. What makes this worse is that I was told in the store that these products were "safe" and that employees buy them themselves. When I returned to request a refund, one associate initially said it would be accepted. However, the same employee who originally reassured me suddenly refused, became visibly upset, and told me "it's the law" that they cannot take the items back. That statement is misleading -- stores cannot avoid responsibility for selling food that is not safe for consumption. On top of that, during the same visit I was overcharged for other items compared to the posted prices, which added to my frustration and concern about how this business operates. This was not just poor customer service -- it raises serious concerns about food safety and consumer rights. I strongly recommend that others carefully inspect any items before purchasing here and double-check prices at checkout.
