Looking for a spot to have lunch and this looked like a great option. Not too far from our hotel…read moreand their lunch menu looked good. Located just outside of the busy part of Canton. They have ample parking available so that was a plus. With a surprisingly warm day for October we enjoyed sitting outside on their patio which had little touches in attempting to make it tropical with fake palm trees. Indoor was set up like your typical rustic bar/pub. Drink wise they offered what you'd expect from a full bar with beers, wine, and cocktails. They had a good list of around 8 seasonal cocktails. I got the apple cider margarita and my wife got the cranberry Paloma. Both were huge and delicious and great for fall drinks. We were tempted for the appetizer pork belly tacos but decided against it. Meal wise my wife got the French dip and I got the Buffalo chicken sandwich changed to a wrap. Both were delicious meals and the fries were perfectly crispy. If you read my review so far you'd likely wonder why it's 3 stars and not 4 or 5. Well that would come down to the service we had. Host was friendly and we were sat right away. It was our server that was disappointing in quality of service. When we first showed up it was not busy really at all and it took a long time for our server to show up the first time and also our drinks took a long time too. Once our food arrived we did not see our server again in any way until paying our check, no checking on us or if we enjoyed our meal or anything. So if you plan on coming here for a meal you can except good food and drinks just not sure how the service you get will be. Despite the good meal I would likely look elsewhere next time.

I order my food at 8:48 and without any notification, they tell me they stop making food at 8:45. Really? I didn't get silverware and had to use bar napkins and now I'm 3 minutes past kitchen time! Now I have to find another restaurant to have dinner. So sad. Not coming back.

The restaurant is carpeted, with plush furniture, inviting diners to enjoy intimate conversation; a rare dining pleasure in many restaurants these days. I don't recommend the Thai noodles (don't get this), but I highly recommend the chicken piccata. It's fabulous! Unfortunately it's not on the menu every day. The French onion soup and shrimp tacos are also very good. Especially when they have the Thai chili sauce version. I will be back for the chicken piccata! But unless they put it on the menu I'll need to call ahead first to find out if it's featured as a special. I will also be back for the comfortable enjoyable atmosphere.

Now compared to many places this general area does not have world class dining so comparing quality needs to be factored in. It also needs to be said that this is a hotel restaurant so if you are staying here and don't want to leave for a meal then give it a try. I can only speak to breakfast, maybe they are far better for lunch or dinner. The inside is kinda what you expect from an outdated hotel restaurant and could use some sprucing up. The highlight of the overall vibe is the window view of the golf course. Staff was friendly but speed wise of how long our food took was extremely slow especially considering so few tables were taken the day we went. Lastly, the food was forgettable and breakfast wise would be a skip if you were to ask me. Menu is also quite small and limited, look elsewhere before deciding to dine here.

My family and I had dinner at Jake's on the Water during our recent trip to Potsdam. Unfortunately,…read morewe couldn't sit outside because of the rain, but our table inside still offered a great view of the water. The restaurant wasn't crowded, but there were enough guests to give it a nice atmosphere. It felt comfortable, relaxed, and not noisy at all. We started with the Kung Pao Cauliflower, which was excellent. Even my kids, who don't usually enjoy vegetables, ate every bite. For their meals, both kids ordered brick oven pizzas. My older child had the Labrador and finished the entire pizza by himself, while my younger child ordered the Authentic with pepperoni and really enjoyed it. My wife ordered the fish of the day, and I chose the scallop special. Overall, the food was very good, the service was pleasant, and the waterfront setting made for an enjoyable dining experience. I would definitely return the next time I'm in the area.

All of the staff we interacted with were great and friendly. Our family from this area raved about their poutine, but a recent menu change got rid of it. Despite that they had a variety of starters/apps, sandwiches, pizzas, steaks, plus other entrees including some specials on a separate little menu. Included on that was two cocktails that we tried, I had two of their Strawberry Rhubarb Collins that was light and easy to drink with just enough strawberry and rhubarb flavor. My wife had their special sangria which had tons of flavor. Both fantastic drinks! As a group we split some pretzel sticks as well as some bang bang shrimp. With both being great bites before our meals with the beer cheese and mustard for the pretzels along with the shrimp sweet chili aioli being perfect dips. Lastly for the main event my wife and I were on the same wavelength and got their Vodka Chicken Parm, that originally was to come on top rice pilaf but both substituted for house made pasta. Everything from the vodka sauce, to the house made pasta, to the chicken were fantastic! Would gladly get it again. If we lived around here I would picture this being a regular stop for us! Friendly and welcoming staff with well made drinks and delicious food! Give it a try!

Jake's on the Water - The contrast of lighting doesn't show this well, but we had an "interior" table tucked well back but still had a great river/lake/flow view.
