I gotta admit I've been going here since I was a child so I'm kind of biased. I've met many Broncos there including the Owner & it's a staple of the community in a way. It's kind of a hidden gem in Englewood that needs to be checked out. Idk why Yelp asked me to review this place again but I'd definitely recommend the Quesorito it's smothered in amazing sauce & lots of cheese & you can choose the meat but just beef is greatly seasoned & beans added are good 2. Huge portions even including the salads & their hand breaded onion rings are to die for! My 2 year old son started tapping spoon on table and it wasn't even a minute and The restaurant is pretty much empty and the waitress came over rudely and said he gonna mess up their no tables and was just rude it would be different if he was scratching up the tables and breaking their dishes but he wasn't I will not be coming back and their food isn't that great anyway. read more

Food is very , very average. The quesorito that is supposed to be their specialty is basically a burrito . It's nothing unique or special. I have been here a few times but tonight was absolutely the worst service I have had. When we came in the waitress sat us in the back room area even through there were seats in the main dining room so she would have a customer sitting in her area. I hate being sat back there by the kitchen and restrooms. She never came back to check on us. I had to ask someone else for something that I had asked our waitress for when she brought our food. My margarita was not what I had asked for but there was nothing to do about it since we were the only ones sitting in the corner area and our waitress was nowhere to be found. read more

Being a Broncos fan my friend surprised us by taking us here. The signage was all about broncos and walking in the hallway they had broncos pictures. In the back area by the restroom they had pics as well and by the bar they had helmets. Other than that I've seen more Broncos memorabilia elsewhere and they don't even tote themselves as a Bronco themed restaurant like this place does. Nothing wrong with clientele who are neighborhood residents and elderly as I'm that way at an eatery i frequent. The server was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was much to be desired. The quesorito which is supposed to be their specialty was bland and the "refried" beans were definitely bland bean soup. They did make a good margarita and the establishment seemed clean. I sat at the bar for over 10 minutes, the restaurant is full the bar wasn't busy, yet NOBODY would say a peep to me. Sucks trying to dine out solo. This place reminded me why I hardly bother anymore. It's seems to be a tired business with a wore out staff that is phoning it in. It had been a year since I was last in here, I got no service than either. Not sure why they are open anymore. This old rundown restaurant lacks everything you're looking for in a good meal. The service was nice enough but the wait for food was too long. Over 40 minutes once seated and then served cold and not just a little, cheese enchiladas should have melted cheese in it not uncooked shredded cheese with spaghetti sauce for your enchilada gravy. That includes chips and salsa. Half salsa. Half spaghetti sauce. My eight year old loved her crispy burger. It was burned on the edges. read more

We walked in and down the hall, and it was lined with 1960 football cards framed with other memorabilia. We entered a total retro lounge/ restaurant . Dark and cozy. It felt good. It seems like all the new restaurants look alike, My wife and I ordered the chimichanga and chile relleno. Both were good. Prefer the egg roll relleno. I told the waitress we hadn't been in before, and she was patient and gave suggestions. She seemed truly happy that we were there for the first time. Service was spot on. Pretty wide variety on the menu. Prices are reasonable and that's why the place was packed. Looking forward to trying it again. read more

I stopped in for dinner and a margarita. The house margarita was good, not super sweet or anything, and I'd recommend it. I got the carne asada platter and was satisfied. The food was well seasoned and tasted good. My only complaint was that the steak could have been more tender, but it was all good. The waitress was friendly and our food came out relatively quickly. I had a wonderful second experience at The South Restaurant! What a vibe. The bar is filled with locals and regulars 24/7 who are always engaging with the bar staff and return time and time again for their hospitality, strong drinks, reasonably priced beers and exceptional comfort food. Lainie was awesome. I manage fine dining restaurants and have a background in high-volume concepts for michelin restaurant groups. She knew the products, personalized the experience to me and my preferences, and was spot-on with checking in, despite a very crowded bar and a full restaurant when I arrived. I see why the locals return time and time again for her attentive and down-to-earth hospitality. The food was awesome. I never would have ordered a burrito with French fries, but alas this was Lainie's favorite and it really worked! The texture was spot on, the fries weren't over or undercooked, and actually added a lot to the "everything" burrito. I imagine this is actually not that easy to nail, especially at the volumes they are doing. I really enjoyed it. Chips & Salsa: delicious! And a huge indicator of what the food is going to look like. Attention to detail and flavor, but approachable for everyone (the hot salsa wasn't too hot, the mild was actually mild and had a lot of flavor). I eat a lot of salsa and finished two salsas... so if you're like me (salsa lover), order a second one! I'm a bit of a cocktail snob, and during my first visit (not with Lainie) was a bit sticker shocked on the price jump for a sweet and sour marg with Corazon. I had asked for Casamigos, but was given Corazon (they are the same price here). During my second visit with Lainie guiding the experience, I decided on a bartender poured rocks margarita (still with sweet and sour) but they were strong and $7. Their well tequila is 100% blue weber agave and not bad, so I wasn't excited to upgrade again. I prefer fresh squeezed lime juice in my margs and I'm always willing to pay more for it with a mid/decent Blanco tequila. At this place they do what they do really well, it's not a craft marg bar, so I had a better experience embracing it for what it is. I wish there was at least one mezcal in their bar program. It's my go-to. I get it may not be popular, but at least one bottle would be nice. Price isn't of consequence, but it is a growing category and there are a lot of fun/creative things that can be made with the spirit. This was a weird one. I got the quesarito with a side of rice and beans and queso dip. The filling of the quesarito was really good, and if that had been the only thing on my plate maybe I'd give it a better rating. Queso was fine until about 30 seconds later when it was hard and inedible, the refried beans was pretty much bean water, and the rice was....I'm not sure what it was but it wasn't rice. Just went here for the first time with my boyfriend and we really enjoyed it! Walking in, I loved the look of the place; cozy, kinda divey (but in a good way, you know?) with lots of space for seating and a big bar. The bartender greeted us immediately and led us to a booth, where our server brought us chips and salsa, took our drink orders, and the drinks came a few minutes later. My margarita was really good! The menu is way more varied than I thought -- along with Mexican dishes, they serve sandwiches, a bunch of different dinner salads, burgers, and more classic bar foods. I got the fish n chips, which were delicious! The batter was flaky, crunchy, and flavorful, and the fish was moist and fresh tasting. My boyfriend got the burrito platter, and he loved it, he said the green sauce had a nice kick. Some of the worst service I've ever had, the only thing worse than the service was the food. Food was poorly seasoned. The queso was quite literally velveeta cheese dip. $11 for velvetta is a rip off. Salsa was basically tomato sauce. I specifically asked the waitress if the kids meals including fries, she told me yes. Then the meals came out without fries. When asked about it, she told me she could "ring them up for me". Waitress was hard to find. I had to ask three times for a high chair for my son. The waitress also charged my card twice. Once for my meal, once for the appetizer. This is what you get Caramelized onions unseasoned shrimp...well a dash of pepper, lettuce tomato cheese, 3 torn up tortillas. That's it, no rice, no beans. Absolutely no flavor. The manager asked if i wanted rice and beans and then charged me for it!!! Now, on their behalf, i didn't read that that is how the Fajitas are because, well, i love shrimp fajitas. Iced tea was basically colored water; wait person asked if we wanted chips and salsa which we declined until my wife asked if they were complimentary. Wait person responded "The first basket is free. " That information would have been useful earlier but we decided to order the complimentary basket anyway. Chips were ok; salsas ("mild and hot") were both very bland and made Pace salsa seem like high quality stuff comparatively. Wife's chili Relleno was undersized and arrived less than lukewarm; after a couple of bites, she waited until she could spot the wait person again to return the dish for reheating. In contrast, my cheese enchiladas were quite hot and tasty which saved the meal from being a one star review. Our server was Heather and she has been working there for years. She was incredibly attentive and she anticipated our needs before we asked for them. We used to have a North that we went to all the time for tacoritos. They still have them here and they are good, but not as good as North's.
