My hair was also in a funny growing out phase. I scheduled an appointment with Ricky and have never looked back. I look forward to my biweekly visits ever since finding him. He understands working with my hair texture and laid out how my hair would be cut as it grows in. He is also just a nice guy. We talk about everything and it just makes for a better experience. You can't go wrong with him. I also observe the other barbers and they all seem equally engaging. I would recommend giving this shop a try. read more

DON'T GO TO RICKY! Horrible experience today with Ricky. Do not ask for Ricky even if you're desperate. This guy gave me a horrible cut today. I showed him pictures and even explained to him in detail what I wanted for my haircut. I asked for a low to mid taper all around, and to please not cut too much off the sides and back but to even it out. At the end of the cut, when I let him know that I did not like the cut and that he did not do what I asked, all he said was "sorry, all I did was follow the pictures you showed me," and he still charged me full price, which was $45 -- that hurts when it's a terrible haircut. He also said he's been cutting hair for 16 years, but in my opinion this is not what an experienced barber does. If you look at the photos I attached, it's very clear he did not follow the photos I showed him or do what I told him. Terrible experience, and he handled the situation terribly. Whatever you do, DON'T GO TO RICKY. I wish I had a before picture, but my hair was beautiful and full before this terrible haircut. Now in Spanish - Ahora en español ¡NO VAYAS CON RICKY! Literally avoid this shop at all costs . Went in and asked for a low taper fade showed the store owner multiple pics . Came out with a bald fade bowl cut ..... look at the lines that aren't even faded . When the cut was done I had to ask for a mirror to look and was shocked . I should have known better seeing other people's fades I figured the store owner that has been cutting hair for 15 + years would be competent enough to do a simple low taper fade showed. Imagine walking into a place for the first time, showing a picture of a hairstyle to a hair dresser whom you've never met before. Now imagine them getting it right, perfectly in the first visit. That is what happened when Hugo cut my hair. This may not seem like a big deal but to me it is. I seem to have bad luck with hairstylists. I love experimental haircuts, and Ricky brings every vision I have to life & even better than the reference photos or videos I show him. Haircut was mostly buzzer work, bringing down and fading my sides with a little bit of scissor work on top. Took about 40 min which was very reasonable. After trying (and failing) to get a much-needed a haircut on New Year's Eve, Angel welcomed me in as a walk-in on a very busy day for the business. The owners are sweet guys, and there's some talent that comes through there. But on my last two trips for a regular haircut (as a walk-in) I was paired up with Ricky who I cannot recommend. I tried to compensate for the mistakes of the first time by being more specific the second time but I was still quite displeased with the results. Aside from whatever was lost in translation, his work is sloppy and haphazard with spots uneven or completely missed. Pick anyone else if you're walking in without an appointment. My first experience went smoothly; but my attempt at a second appointment was just...a total FAIL. I called to make an appointment, Ernesto picked up the phone and confirmed he was available at 4:00 for an appointment. He ended the call with, "Your appointment is at 4:00 today with me, Ernesto." I arrived at 3:55 and sat outside (per the instructions at the door). At 4:10, Jerry came outside and asked who I was waiting for. He went inside to tell Ernesto, and then left for the day. Ernesto came out a few minutes later, and acted as though he knew nothing of the appointment he just made with me. I reminded him of the call, he then remembered, and said he made a mistake (unclear what that mistake was). Ernesto then said he could try to "squeeze me in quick in maybe 20 minutes." ...But if there's one thing I've learned with getting a haircut, it's not something I want to be squeezed in and rushed - but thanks. I said I would have to pass, so he offered to get me in with another barber. He went back inside; but after 10 minutes of no response, I gave up. Absolutely the worst thing you can do to a customer, in my opinion: make them drive 30 mins for an appointment and then pull this nonsense. This hack-job is not worth the hassle. read more

The staff is friendly and accommodating. I loved the upbeat music. The theme is fun and very LGBT friendly. They prefer cash but also take Venmo. During the pandemic they are limiting customers, masks are mandatory, they offer hand sanitizer, they take your temp, and you sign a waiver. During the haircut they use a disposable cape and sanitize often. They just built an outside seating area. If you want you can request a haircut on the back patio. I am very unhappy with the haircut I received yesterday. I have been growing my hair for months and asked for a scissor cut to balance my hair and to clean up around the edges to make my hair less box like. I explained what I wanted to the barber and he completely disregarded what I asked for and just clipped away with the clippers the way he wanted to save time. The haircut did not look bad initially, but after washing my hair it's now too short to comb back. I am disappointed that the barber did not listen to what I asked for and cut off the hair I've been growing for months. It's very frustrating. The worse part is I paid $50 for a haircut that took 20 mins and wasn't even what I asked for. Please tell your barbers to take their time and listen to what the customer wants. If they can't do it, let someone else cut it the right way. read more
