The Casual Pint has the best craft beer selection in San Angelo. It's in a cool renovated old building downtown, but it still retains the old character. There is a lot of seating, as well as a "loft" area with tables and a TV with video games. The have bottles on shelves, and also some in a cooler for take away or to drink in house. We ordered cider from Bishop Cider Company, which is always a good idea. read more

Decided to walk on over and visit with some buddies after eating dinner at a nearby restaurant. We heard from other friends that this was the new craft beer spot in SA and when I walked in, I was completely blown away and impressed by the set up. I expected a dimly lit, bar-type setting with neon lights offering a slightly bigger than average beer selection. But it was well lit, providing a warm, friendly, and inviting atmosphere and there were shelves full of various types of bottled beers, plus 25+ types on tap. More of a coffee shop vibe than a bar. And there were board games in the upstairs seating area. As a stout lover, this place is a dream since it offers several stout/porter options, which is hard to come by. Zach, the owner (I believe), introduced himself and he chatted with our group for a bit. He even took recommendations on some stouts we'd like to see here so we were impressed with that gesture as well. We really enjoy the Casual Pint. We try and go every couple of weeks. Great place for craft beer, the workers know their stuff, the flights are nice at a nice price so you can try different ones, and the environment is fun. Sometimes the music can be too loud but we just sit outside when that occurs. It's a fun and welcoming environment and low key on Friday nights with live music. read more

I've been to the casual pint numerous times. It just happens to be the place my friends and I get together at a lot. There are lots of good things to say about the pint. I like the flight of beers option and the fact that you can taste beers. The bar itself is nice and comfortable and often has music. My biggest complaint is the staff. Don't get me wrong, they are typically friendly, but they lack any sense of urgency. I've been given the wrong beer and food numerous times and I've waited quite a while to have my order taken. It just seems that service isn't often a top priority. The ambience and selection of beers is the focal point though and I would recommend the Pint. read more

Outstanding beer spot in San Angelo. This place would rank highly in the DC area, from where I hail. They have so many choices, you are bound to either find that beer you've been craving or something totally new. I'd say the highlight, besides the great number of draft choices, is the staff will gleefully talk to you about the beers. They are knowledgeable and genuinely care if you enjoy your beer or not. Certainly don't just pour and run. A nice subtle touch they do here: each time they fill your glass, they turn it upside down and blast it wth water to ensure it's clean. I haven't tried any of the pub snacks yet, but this is a great place for a beer or three. Extensive tap list, and a large cooler with a huge selection of bottled and canned singles too. Bartender was great, but I'm not sure how it would be during a busy time (I was there late-ish on a Wednesday). I'm not usually into all the new craft beer places that have popped up all over and being new to San Angelo, I was impressed with their selection and the fact that you could order only a 5 oz glass of whatever you were having (of course, after a taste sample - free). The service was very good and the noise level was acceptable and we had a nice conversation. I'd definitely go back. read more

Really enjoyed my trip to Casual Pint yesterday. I am a huge fan of a craft beer and let me tell you - they got you and your taste buds. I found my new favorite brew - apple and pineapple cider. It had me both Florida and Hawaii sick. I loved the favor, it's two best things in the world combined together. Just like invention of sporks - apple and pineapple flavor blend is a huge win. Tap list is vast, as I've mentioned before, if you were paying attention of course, they got you as far as the satisfaction of any taste goes. There is also many beverages available for the purchase there at the location. Many shelves of bubbly goodness awaits for you at the Casual Pint. I'm going to return, no doubt in this, as lest to get those tiny tasting glasses. They're so cute! I haven't tried the food just yet, so update for my review is coming if I get a chance to try it. Also try beer yoga on Saturdays, it's a very good "detox and retox" as out yoga instructor Darcy said. Different and very fun experience. read more

It's a super wide beer selection for sure, still pretty IPA heavy. Two things that would make this place better: A larger collection of stouts and "regular beers" and a "Cash-Only" line to make getting a beer not take 18 minutes. read more

They have a very extensive selection of beers available in six packs, both warm and cold. Their draft selections are also varied and there were some really good ones on the board. The problem is there was no wait staff and one bartender on duty. When there are 10 people lined up at the bar and the bartender isn't speedy, the wait can be exhausting. We waited a good while and eventually left without a beer, it just took too long. While you're waiting, folks that were seated come up to the bar and try to order more beer. There isn't a line or any system to know who was waiting next, it's every person for themselves. Shame too, the place is really cool with a lot of seating and even a small upstairs area. They need to get a better system for waiting on their patrons though. There are other places in the area to get a great draft without having to wait so long. Hopefully they'll get it fixed. read more

This is my first visit. I was hungry. So, I came here with a friend per his suggestion. As you walk in, it looks like a beer store...and I'm thinking "where's the menu?", but then, I spot the bar in the back. I asked the bartender for a food menu. My friend said it was "bar food"...but it looked better than bar food. I ordered the Seasonal IPA Brat. My friend ordered the soft pretzels with beer cheese. I told the bartender I like Zeigenbock. So, he suggested I try the Rogue Dead Guy Ale from Newport, OR...REAL GOOD! Not too bitter, since I'm really not a fan of bitter beer. Although I spotted a cider on the menu, so I made a mental note to try that next time if it's still up there on their selections board. The food came and it was very delicious!!! The brat was amazing!!! And the pretzels were super fresh, hot outta the oven! The beer cheese was exquisite! It has a grainy texture with a tartness that makes this an unusually delicious dip!!! I even dipped my brat in it, it was so yummy!!! Then I saw this badass bottle they sell for $40...it's called a Growler. 64oz bottle that you can take your favorite beer home in!!! My IPA was $10 for a growler...so, for $50, you get the bottle & the beer! Then you bring back the bottle and refill it for $10!!!!! The bottle is super cool looking, too!!! This place was pretty chill. One of the workers came up to me immediately when I was checking out the selection and gave me a few good selections for my preference in beer. I went to the bar top to grab a tap beer and it took awhile which was surprising because a guy asked me how I was doing but didn't ask if I wanted a beer. The Casual Pint had a nice feel, minus the minimal amount of space available. The beer selection was large, and the "express menu" was minimal but alright (the guacamole tasted like it came from a bag)... well, my friends and I went out on a Tuesday for Geeks Who Drink trivia night. There were 22 teams in this confined space, people wouldn't stop talking to listen to questions, shouting things out at the proctor, and the proctor continually was entertaining every side conversation. This added unnecessary time onto the night, and by the 4th round it was already aggravating that everyone was talking loudly over the person a foot away from them. There were people cheating on their phones, so that takes away from the fun as well. Overall, The Casual Pint is alright, but Tuesday Trivia is a BUST. read more

Cool place, LOTS of great beer on tap, on the shelf, and in the cooler. But the wait for service is excruciating. Even when it's been slower, getting service is hard. Last time I went we ordered food. They tried to bring us someone else's food two times and by then I was so hungry I almost took it! We waited well over 45 minutes for easily made bar food. It tasted fine and was fresh when we finally got it. Next time, I will eat before we go because the beers and atmosphere are great. read more
