We have been going to The Cave for 3 years. We love the atmosphere, people watching and service. In the past we thought the food was on par with other lake places and their pizza was as good as any (except Papa Chubbies). We've been to the Cave twice this year and both times the food was a disappointment. Went for early dinner on Friday. After boating all over LOTO for the past 20 years, we had the absolutely worst dock girl on the lake. She was condescending and yelled at all of us. Thought maybe it was just us, but the other boat that we were with that arrived several minutes before us got the same treatment. They told her to just go away. Last year the cave was one of my favorites. This weekend not so much. The prices have gone up and quality has gone down. If you have to raise your prices keep the quality high. In addition train your wait staff to include the dock girls. Counting their tips while still in the presence of the customer is trashy. read more

Cool place on the lake! 15 of us came here and they did a great job of serving everyone. Drinks were good , "live" music and food was great! A little pricey for the drinks, but everyone enjoyed it! The Cave Bar & Grill is a must see! What a super cool concept-- basically this biz owner was like, 'lets retrofit a cave to work as a swim-up bar?' I am not a engineer or a construction expert at all and I even found myself trying to figure out what all had to go into making a cave work as both an eatery and a pool area. (Fun fact; Missouri has over 6000 natural caves!) We stopped over on our way back from Ha Ha Tonka Park (which is a stones throw away from this gem). So I will premise this review with: we had no swim suits and this spot is infinitely cooler when you're able to partake in their many swim up bars! Some positives about The Cave Bar & Grill - Lots of menu options (but know it is very similar to many of their other locations-- like Redheads). - Tons of boat slips for water access. - Friendly service! - Open daily. - Tasty cocktails (again, very similar to their other locations). - The Cave. I mean, I really didn't know I needed to dine in a cave until I dined in THIS cave. But I totes did and so do you. - The salads! Holy lettuce. That 's is a lot of bang per buck. - Tons of indoor, in-cave and outdoor seating options. Some negatives: - Prices seemed a bit high even compared to its sister locations. - The cave was SLIPPERY AS HECK. Oh my goodness. Beware. Overall, I'd pop over to The Cave Bar & Grill again! This place has only been open a year I believe and not only are you getting an amazing experience the food is great too! The appetizers we had were the Calamari Fries the aioli sauce was the highlight but the actual fries while different to me still very good. A few of us had the burgers which had no complaints but I had the Turkey sandwich since I saw a photo that looked great and filling but also wanted to stay on the healthy ish side. Next time maybe I'll try the pizza Our server was nice. The reason we even heard about this place was from social media and I thought it was exactly as shown the cool cave the pool and overlooking the lake was just perfect. This place is amazing. We've been coming down to the ozarks for many years and after one visit we have unanimously decided that this will be our go-to place! There is something for everyone here! Love the huge wrap-through pool that is divided appropriately for kids and adults with a separate kiddie pool. The cave is a great spot to go into if you are looking to get out of the sun and quite literally cool down as well, but there are plenty of umbrellas and canopies as well. The Cave Bar & Grill is a pretty unique concept for a pool bar. It's half lakeside pool party and half cave pool. To be completely honest the cave part is a bit hokey - it's a man made cave, that is pretty cold and quiet, at least during the day. I feel like it might be more fun and entertaining if you go in the evening when it maybe has a more club like energy. I can say though, that it's one of the more unique bars I've been to and I'd certainly consider a return if I find myself in the area! read more

If I could give this place a 0/5 I would. I have been there 3 times, each time trying to give this place a chance but their workers get ruder each time. The final straw was shoot out weekend. My friend and I went to grab a drink and the bartender refused to serve us because our drivers licenses were coming up as "fake". We are both almost 30 with children. We politely asked to speak to the manager or use a different scanner and she refused!!! She said "oh yeah he's busy". We literally just dealt with the chaos of parking, tipped the boat girls, etc. the least you can do is walk and go find the manager. She then just ignored us until we finally walked away and left. The spot was beautiful. The whole set up is so nice and you can tell the owner has put everything into it. Our pizza did come out cold, but the owner came over and made everything right. We live about 3 hours away and would definitely make this stop again when we're here. Can't say enough about the owner and set up. This place will be popping during summer. read more

We were visiting the lake for the Shootout and decided on visiting The Cave for the first time. The Cave Bar & Grill is a welcome addition to the lake. It is a really cool spot. The pool bar is nice to stay cool while you enjoy a good drink or two. I landed on the Strawberry Shortcake which is one of the frozen drink options. I thoroughly enjoyed this drink. It was very refreshing and definitely reminded me of the strawberry shortcake eclair ice cream bars. We were also hungry after being on the boat for a few hours and got a table to order some food. Everyone in our group of 7 enjoyed their food choices. I went with the hand breaded chicken strips which were solid. I had honey mustard for the dipping sauce which was very good and appeared to be house made. The service was also good and attentive for how busy it was. My one complaint about The Cave is the amount of children/babies that were there. I'm all for wanting to go out and enjoy yourself as a parent, but I witnessed some questionable parenting choices. It just doesn't seem like a good idea to have babies around a pool full of drinking adults. Also, lots of kids were building sand piles and throwing sand in the pool. I'm not sure the best way to monitor/regulate that, but that may be something The Cave management could look into. Overall, The Cave is a great option to cool off and get a bite to eat and a good drink! read more

A fun spot to stop on the lake! It incorporates a cave filled with tables and sand with room for yard games like corn hole. It has both an on-land and in-water bar so no matter what you are doing there is bar access. It is a spot that is popular among adults and kids so expect it to be busy. We all got drinks off the frozen cocktail menu and two 10' pizzas as a snack. It was all delicious and what you would expect from frozen cocktails. The only disappointment was the house margarita. It did not taste like a margarita or really anything at allThere were options that also included ice cream which was a great way to beat the heat! You do have to order food and be seated by a hostess so if you are looking for drinks and don't want to be in the pool or standing maybe consider grabbing a bite at the same time. Overall a positive experience, it did take a bit to receive drinks and the pizza but nothing that isn't normal for the lake! Will be returning! read more

We went to by car Thursday evening around 7pm. *Parking for cars is limited but 100% doable. It is a lake road (narrow,curvy, and steep) getting down to the parking- probably not the greatest for smaller cars. There is also a TON of boat parking, for boats of any size. *Service was great, we had a table of 4 and probably waited 20 mins for our food even with it being busy. *Food was great! There were a lot of options - table favorite was the Shells and cheese. *DOG FRIENDLY for friendly dogs! This would be probably the only thing I think that needs to be better, we tried to call several times before coming to find out if it was dog friendly as well as looking at the website and social media pages/DMs and reviews and could find nothing about if animals were allowed so we had to risk being turned away when we showed up with 2 pups. BUT thankfully they are pet friendly. I wouldn't bring a dog her that doesn't like to be in a crowded space. The tables are fairly close to each other in dog terms * Family friendly! We went later in the evening and it seemed like most the people there were family's at that point, with young children that were enjoying the pool. They even have an entirely separate pool that is shallow, that seemed to be the kid pool area. Be aware though there are people there drinking /have been all day(it's a bar, so obviously) so there is probably goin to be someone there that is a little messy. *I would suggest wearing bug spray, even in the Cave there were quite a few flies but on the patio we did notice getting bit by things, nothing some bug spray or an off fan wouldn't fix. I don't normally leave reviews but we had so much trouble finding out if it was pet friendly I thought i mouth help someone else out in the future. :) highly recommend, we had a great time! read more

A true ozark experience with a cave and the lake. Added bonus beach sand and pools. Kiddie pool and adult pools divided drinks and food. Amazing dock help the girls know what they are doing and extremely friendly with good suggestions for food and drinks. So far great time. During the hot summer days getting a table in the pool or in the back of the cave is a perfect place to stay cool. The red beach chairs off a great view of the boats or flip them to keep an eye on those in the pool. The bar service is fast and great. Warning if you go during peek weekend times there may not be boat docks available and the waits will be longer. We went on a Tuesday during the summer and really enjoyed our time. read more

A restraurant with multiple swim-up pools built next to a cave they've added a pool inside of. The cave aspect is neat, but you'll probably just glance at it and ignore it the rest of your trip (no food service or bar in there). Still, we had a great time with friends here, and despite the downsides, we'd definitely come back. NOTES: -The drive-way to this place is down a steep, narrow, curvy road. Once you get there, though, there's a decent amount of parking. They also have boat parking. -Wear shoes you're okay having sand on. The Cave imported their own sand, and a lot of the areas are covered in it. -If you like the idea of the cave, be aware that it was full of kids and kids' parties on the wide, picnic-style tables - even midday on a random weekday. Lots of signs for "no splashing", but kids were splashing everywhere, and the floor was sopping wet and covered in sand. -Very much a "party" atmosphere with a ton of drunk adults (even midday on a weekday) and a ton of wild, playing-in-pools kids. Lots of screaming and yelling and puddles of water everywhere. PROS: -Table seating for food is limited (and only allowed if you're eating food), but you can "seat yourself" at any of the swim-up bars or chaise chairs. -The adults' swim-up bar had in-pool tables with sturdy, wide beach umbrellas. This was fantastic for staying out of the sun while simultaneously enjoying my friend's company and drinks. Fantastic mix! -Multiple sets of restrooms. The Cave is a long establishment, running along the coastline, and it's nice that there are sets of restrooms on either side of the place. -You can order food to be delivered to your swim-up bar tables. You don't even have to leave the swim-up bar to get food. -Wide variety of drinks. Their frozen/slushy options are decently boozy (not great, not bad), and they have beers and seltzers too. If, at any point, you want more booze in your booze, they have additional shots priced right on the menu and allow you to choose your booze. (Decently cheap shots too!) -Creative cocktails - a few of them that everybody at the table was talking about for days! The Strawberry Shortcake tasted like Strawberry Cream Savers (seriously, get it.). The Skrewy Banana was a chocolate-covered banana in a glass (seriously, get that too). CONS: -This isn't on the establishment itself, but my god, the "adults only" people had an uncomfortable number of children. Do be aware that "adults only" seems to be a nice request from the establishment, and no one is there to enforce this. Kids were in the adults area. (The "adult" area is next to the toddler pool, so some parents seemed to have tried to double-parent by supervising the toddler while the kids played in the adult pool next to it.) -The swim-up bar staff seemed more annoyed and unhappy to be there than anything. I get it: dealing with a ton of drunk people at a swim-up bar is probably not great. I just felt bad ordering any drinks because they seemed so upset. If my rating was based on service (like most restaurants), they'd probably have a really poor one, but the novelty and swim-up bar aspect really save them here. read more

This place was a party stop, not really a kid friendly spot. Its a neat idea of a pool in cave. Their were kids all over that were highly unsupervised, everyone else was drinking away in the pool. The music was super loud, the music wasn't horrible just way too loud. The band playing was good but again the volume was over comfortable level. The food was WAYYY overpriced for sandwiches. We literally paid $70 before tax for two adult sandwiches and 2 kid meals no drinks. If the food was good I would feel better but it was just average. I understand its more of a hang out place, but I wouldn't recommend as family material due to the lack of clothing and amount of drinking going on. Service was ok, nothing to brag about, for the cost its pretty dumb to dump a pitcher of water with cups as a serve yourself idea.
