This was by far the worst restaurant experience I've had. Our server, Kase S., took about 45 minutes just to take our appetizer order. It was another 30 minutes before he returned to take our meal order. After waiting over two hours, we still had not received our food. We were told the kitchen was backed up, but during that time we watched multiple tables (including several larger parties) that were seated after us receive their meals before we did. The service throughout the restaurant seemed very disorganized. On at least five occasions, servers brought food to the wrong tables and walked around asking guests, "Is this yours?" trying to figure out where it belonged. After more than two hours of waiting with no meals, we asked for to-go boxes and our bill. We ended up paying for our food before we ever received it so we could leave and get back to our boat. As we were leaving, the dock attendant asked how everything was. When I told her the service was awful and that we still hadn't eaten after two hours, her response was, "I'm not surprised." Unfortunately, this was an extremely disappointing experience from start to finish. We understand restaurants can get busy, but the lack of communication, organization, and timely service made this an experience we won't be repeating. read more

We had a great time hanging out while we had the weather cooperating. Drinks were overall good-- prices were ok for this area. Our server was kind & joked along with us! It otherwise seemed like we were being rushed to close out our tab as the fore coming weather wasn't great and we wanted to sit outside while it wasn't raining. Our server informed us that they were closing down early due to the weather but others coming were just being seated inside. I wish they would've suggested us to move indoors and we would've spent longer (+more money for them!) but weren't given that option. It was Easter and I get they wanted to close early. But we didn't order entrees and only shared 1/2 order of nachos as we weren't very hungry & just wanted a snack with our cocktails. Definitely don't miss out on the beignets! Pricing is on par. Staff is attentive. Parking is tricky. It's limited but also, has a huge incline and multiple spots. Wait time can be large. Holy cow are we glad we stopped here! The Cajun food here was spectacular! I would love to mention our delightful server, but she never gave us her name. I started my meal with the chicken and sausage gumbo, which was delightful. My wife had the shrimp Poboy, which she absolutely adored. I had the shrimp and crawfish etouffee, which was very thick, rich and creamy unlike any I'd ever had. But it was delicious! We enjoyed a nice view of the lake while we had our lunch and our unnamed server was super efficient and quick. We were able to get on the road back to our home in Kansas City after a delightful meal. Next time we are in the Ozarks, we will definitely be stopping here. I'm a sucker for fried oysters, I could be served bad fried oysters, and as long as I don't get food poisoning, I'll still enjoy them. This is a great spot if you're looking for something along the water. It was so windy when my husband and I went that we sat "outside," but behind some panels that blocked the wind. I was too stressed trying to hang onto my water glass, silverware, and hat. It was awesome that they had an in-between option. We tried the fried oysters, of course, and the smothered catfish with gumbo. The oysters looked like chicken nuggets, probably previous frozen, I ate every last one of them. The catfish was fried perfectly, it was crispy, flakey, and tender. I wish we had more of the étouffée, like really truly smothering the dish, but regardless, we still enjoyed it. The rice on the catfish dish and gumbo could have used a bit more time, it was a little hard, but still edible. Service was fast and friendly. read more

Great service, friendly staff. Very convenient to get to by boat. They offer a nice outdoor area, and also enclosed outdoor area protected from the weather with a nice fireplace. The appetizers were really tasty... crab cakes and crab artichoke dip. The jambalaya was really well done and nice heat. The mahi blackened sandwich was heavy on the bread and light on the fish. Came here multiple times on our week-long trip and it was our favorite place. Love the fish food that you can buy & love that it's only a quarter, the kids fed the fish and ducks for almost an hour. We dined at Shorty Pants off season in October. The food was very good and served piping hot. We overindulged on the calamari strips, starter soups, étouffée, and catfish. Stuffed as ticks, we found enough room at the top of our respective esophaguses for the beignets!!!!! Our waitress was very helpful with menu suggestions and restaurant recommendations in the area. The evening was chilly so the outdoor seating area had a nice wood fire burning giving it a cozy atmosphere. Hoping to return next summer to check them out when the lake is busy with vacationers! read more

Adele sat me, and she pretty much threw our menus and silverware down on the table. She didn't let me know a server would be with me or any additional info before she left. Very bad warm and fuzzy for me. Hunter was a total 180. He was warm. He made me feel at home. And he let me know of what we had in store. He pretty much sold me on my appetizers and food choices from his knowledge of the menus. I appreciate his time and attention. My so. Ordered the catfish poboy. He did eat about 1/2 of it before he asked us if we thought it was cooked properly. The fish was clear and had a gelatin consistency, it was definitely not cooked properly. We sent it back and were told it was cooked and it was just because it was close to the spine....WHAT in the world....Have you ever heard anything so crazy. They said they would comp 1/2 of the meal because he had eaten some of it already....Again, I have never heard anything like this....terrible customer service. Honestly this place was great! The only reason for 4 stars is because of our app, it is listed as a crab and spinach artichoke dip but there's really no crab at all. The catfish I got was the most deliciously breaded piece of fish I ever had, cooked perfectly and honestly a little buttery. I preferred it just with some lemon and that's it! On the side I had the cesar salad which I should've gotten the gumbo which the rest of my table got and absolutely adored, perfect spice level and delicious. It's right by the dock so you get a view of the water and all the fish and ducks below. Our server was great and food came out super fast! Also the portions are massive! Sat at the bar since it was super crowded (my fault for going during Shoot Out) and too hot to sit outside. But even with all of that I still had a really enjoyable meal. The bartender was attentive and friendly even juggling a full line of folks. My perfect margarita was pretty close to perfect and gumbo and shrimp and grits were very very tasty if not spicy really any at all. Usually the lack of spicy heat in the food would have bothered me but the flavor was great so I'm not complaining. Will definitely be back next time I'm at the lake. read more

After a long drive from Chicago i was craving from cajón food and heard this place was the spot to go. I started with the blackened chicken nachos which were a great start to the meal. Then I had to get a shrimp PO boy, it was full of massive shrimp fried and Crispy, covered in a spicy cajón aioli on a toasted loaf and crisp lettuce and tomatoes. The crab cakes, in my opinion, didn't seem to have hardly any crab meat in them. Seemed like they were mostly breading and binder. They were orange (from the spices?) amd reminded me more of sweet potatoes. I ate all of one and half of the other. Not great for me on the crab cakes. This is another of the many lakeside restaurants with large patios around Lake of the Ozarks. We've stayed in this area many times and visited quite a few of the lovely lakeside restaurants, and this one is really good. The patio is roomy with enough staff to accommodate all of the people who come through here on a daily basis. The fare here is decidedly Cajun, and it's fine. The crab cakes are good, but I wish the crab they used was more like lump crab, rather than having more of the consistency of canned. I probably wouldn't get those again. I've had better luck with the Big Easy Shrimp, so I can definitely recommend that, and judging from all of the good reviews, I suspect that the other menu items are equally good. The atmosphere is fun, and the waitstaff does a great job. We would definitely come back next time we're in Osage Beach. read more
