Our soup the first time was a special. Pumpkin soup right before Halloween. It's a huge bowl and I mean huge not large. It was served hot as requested but was delicious. Our sit down meal was a breaded chicken breast with three - yes - 3 sides! The mashed potatoes were creamy. The yucca was boiled and delicious. We also had a mini chicken empanada in a corn outer. It had a touch of sweetness and was a treat for my tastebuds. I had the broiled salmon in their special sauce. The salmon was prepared closer to well done than any other heat and it was as requested. I'll order that again. Our eyes were bigger than our tummy's because when the chicken soup and veggies came, we asked that it be wrapped to go. There was a 1/4 chicken wing and foot in the container. Again, oversized. At $20+ it could be considered pricey. But once you saw how many ingredients there were and that think of chicken you're feeling it was worth it. We will return without question.

While the stuffing meant there was slightly less fish than the standard entree, the portion was still substantial. That being said, I have hesitations regarding the quality of the fish and oils used here. Even though it's a "light" meal, my stomach occasionally feels a little off afterward, so it may not quite meet the highest quality standards. And I liked that their version of the sauce was without mayonnaise. Along with the cocktail came some warm thin slices of fried plantains -- bigger than chips but smaller than chunks. The plantains were a nice accompaniment. I had a beef empanada after the shrimp cocktail. And added a side order of thin and crispy french fries. The empanada was just okay. My husband had their perro combo -- a hot dog Latin American style. The hot dog was in a bun and was covered with bacon, cheese, pink sauce, ketchup, quail eggs, pineapple sauce, and potato sticks. I took that recommendation seriously because Florida Nacho Man takes all nacho intelligence seriously. That person owes me $14.50. The plate arrived. Full size ceramic plate, good choice, holds heat. Holds heat the way the surface of the sun holds heat, actually. No warning. No heads up. Just a plate that could cause a medical incident set down in front of you with the quiet confidence of something that had nothing to apologize for. It did not. There were eight chips on it. Eight. On a full size plate. Rattling around like survivors on a burning raft. At $14.50, that works out to $1.81 per chip. I want everyone to sit with that math for a moment. Each chip had a spoonful of highly underseasoned ground beef on it. Individually placed. The sour cream was piped in decorative swirls like this was a thin nacho cake -- tasteless, unattractive, sad, with no business in a Mexican restaurant. The lettuce was iceberg, roughly chopped, room temperature, just another passenger on this train of sadness. The jalapeños were pickled, piled in the center, and had the heat of a decorative garnish because that is all they were. The cheese welded the chips to the plate. Fork Rule violated. The chunks of meat of the "lomito" we cooked to perfection, and the combination was just SO GOOD! Oh and the portion size was Abundant so we were glad we shared as we wanted to Make it to dessert So ... there is a dessert menu! So many choices... but I was determined and chose the chocolate cake. Peruvian chocolate cake is something else. I crave it. It has some dulce de leche in the middle and creamy hot fudge flowing from the top... yummmmm We were already full before the cake... but how could we not devour it! It was scrumptious! Anyway... it is already 6 pm, as I write this review- I am still full- and here I am wishing for more chocolate cake... or more of the spaghetti with the huancaina sauce... or both!
