This is by far the smallest Centurion I've been to. I also brag to all my friends about how Centurions have the BEST breakfast buffet I've ever seen, with the absolute best scrambled eggs - NOT HERE! The breakfast buffet the day I came was horrible and looked worn down and had nothing appetizing on it... including the nasty, old scrambled eggs. They did have decent coffee. And honestly, I just needed a place to sit and work, so they offered that. The restroom is oddly configured and small... you walk in the men's room and there are three doors, thinking these are all stalls and no urinals, but walk in the first one and it's a urinal only. Odd! The seating in the lounge is ok, but there were many families with loud kids, so that makes it tough to work, concentrate, and make work-related calls. Overall, if this was my home airport, I'd never return to a Centurion and I'd probably cancel my platinum card. They need to work on this place! read more

Really a nice yet small lounge. Really nice service staff and bartenders! The table busser on our second visit came and told my wife that there was a nice table vacating after we settled in two small chairs! Even the fellow found cleanup and bathroom duty busting it every time and very friendly! Unfortunately the second time the protein was only salmon which my wife loved but I don't eat Salmon. You can only enter this lounge with an Amex platinum. We did not have to wait to enter this lounge on a Friday afternoon. The bar was nice but seating area is small. Only one food and coffee bar to choose from. I appreciated the fruit and local food selection. The lounge was fairly busy but still a nice place to wait before a flight. read more

This was my first time to this location. What was interesting is that breakfast food was not available until 0630. Mind you my flight leaves at 0730 and I had to leave and find another establishment that serves breakfast. Essentially, why have the AMEX if Centurion does provide the service at a reasonable time when most flights are getting ready to take off. So no the services were not to my liking. In addition, the place was not what normally would see at other Centurion location. Maybe this is just PHL that's the problem. This Centurion Lounge is definitely one of the smaller ones and feels cramped. Been here about 4 times and the wait has always been around an hour. They make you scan a QR code to get on the waitlist. Had to run my butt from 2 terminals down after seeing the review saying that someone had a hard time getting in after the link expired. Food is good and drinks are plentiful as to be expected of a Centurion Lounge. Doesn't seem like the staff is as attentive about picking up plates and cleaning tables. read more

My first review was written several years ago, before everyone, their mothers, dogs, and mothers' dogs (and mothers' dogs' mothers) got Platinum cards and started going to these lounges. They've become untenably crowded at all hours, causing long lines for the herds of sheep (self included ofc) who spend nearly $1000 a year for the privilege. The recipe is to offer something great to attract customers, let that thing deteriorate in value and quality, then improve it incrementally and charge more for it. Rather, rinse, repeat. read more

The absolute worst Centurion Lounge in the system. There is a constant wait and rarely do I get in. You would think they would prioritize people that went to pop in for 15 minutes like I do to get a drink. No they fill the lounge up with people in there for close to 3 hours. I don't understand how people rave about the food here. Is it tasty? Yes. Has the menu changed in 10 5+ years of flying through here? No. The bartenders are very good here, but still not more than 1 star because of capacity issues. PHL was my hometown for almost 40 years so I have a soft spot for it and I still hate this lounge. This lounge single handily makes me want to give up the platinum card, keep my gold, and just get AA's executive card with Admirals Lounge access. If the rare chance you can get in, you might enjoy the ambiance but it's way too small to be a useful lounge. read more

After waiting 45 to get in as a solo traveler I was happy to grab a quick bite before my next flight and as I was about to sit down the host decided to put a reserved seat sign down right in front of me and when I asked him about it . He stated that those are reserved for Top Centurion members. He didn't even ask if I was....which I am. I didn't expect his attitude. Packed to the brim - less of a luxury experience - more of herding experience because of how packed it is. At one point they had to make announcements over the speakers telling people not to put bags on seats ... felt really off for a Centurion lounge. This review is on behalf of my hubby who was on a call with me the entire time he was there with our beloved support dog Lulu. Lounge food was terrible, even the sugar cookies are sub-par. Not a lot of choices for food. Staff kept on asking our dog to be moved a couple of inches on the floor as if she was a nuisance. Good thing one of the patrons indicated Lulu made them happier than the sub-par staff demeanor and food. The wait time during peak ranges from an hour to two hours. The food menu is as expected but they really should switch it up from time to time, but nonetheless the food is good. The drinks are always a highlight as they are served as described and they aren't bashful with the pours. I think this location is smaller than others but it works. This lounge is now my favorite in the network. While also being the smallest by size overall. The lounge manager Mary welcomed me in and checked me in very quickly and explained the lounge. Be aware the lounge is not that big and its very likely depending on when you go that you have to wait. If you don't like to wait there are other lounges to use. The lounge was very clean and I noticed plates being picked up very fast and cups being cleared. The food area was also kept very clean. Tables promptly cleaned as soon as someone got up to leave. The food as usual was pretty good and hot. They kept replenishing it quick whenever it was empty, I watched from my table. I especially liked the rice and chicken, both of which had a Lebanese slant to it. As usual free drinks, just walk to the bar and ask. I was able to fill up my water bottle and get a soda. So with everything that I've said so far, you can tell Mary the manager runs the lounge well, her team were friendly, efficient, and quick. If all the other lounges in the network were run like this, overall would be so much better. So, despite being the smallest lounge I like this one the best. I'm getting close to the 75k annual spend so I can take guests with me. Anyways recommended! read more

Long waitlist when we arrived on a Tuesday night during our layover at PHL. Didn't appreciate the rude and impatient front desk employees. When we finally received the text that it was our turn, it was maybe 50 minutes later, which gave us maybe 30-40 minutes in the lounge before we had to make the long trek back to our gate. The food was ok, nothing to rave about, just some grilled chicken and potatoes. Since we were short on time, I didn't appreciate that the bartender was slow despite no one in line. Not really recommended, especially if you're not flying out of a nearby gate. They seem to fill up quickly, so it's possible you'll walk over only to find a waitlist. They just don't have enough seating compared to other Centurion Lounges. read more

I go out of my way to go here when I'm flying, even if it means walking to a far away terminal afterward.

There is a new waitlist system to enter the lounge and it is truly the worst. My husband and I were standing in line to check in with the gentleman in front of the lounge and there was a couple in front of us who was chatting with him for assistance. After their conversation ended, our code for the waitlist expired by just 1 minute and we were told we would have to join the waitlist again and we had to wait another 30 minutes. It's a shame because we were being polite but not interrupting their conversation and we were in line but the code expired. This new system is terrible. AMEX has got to find a better way to do this. Unfortunately the lounge is extremely small so it does reach capacity quickly but AMEX should take note and expand the lounge. There is often 40+ people waiting just downstairs alone. I used to look forward to coming to the airport so I could go to this lounge but now it adds a layer of stress and chaos to my airport experience. The food is always delicious though. I have yet to go another AMEX lounge that has better food than this one. read more

Loved this lounge! Got here early on a weekday found it pretty packed, maybe explained by business travel. Stepping in it was very calm along the corridor, but then you see the crowd. The ambience was pretty standard centurion lounge, great drinks and snack at the bar with prompt employees helping everyone out. Even though it was packed seating was not a problem surprisingly. The food options were amazing. They had amazing variety both vegetarian and non vegetarian and it was all fresh and delicious. They had yogurt and juices to pick you up after a long red eye and before a connection! Excited to stop by again and enjoy this lounge. read more

This is the lounge in Philadelphia and the whole point of this is to provide an elevated experience compared to sitting in at the gate or a gate-side restaurant. This compared to the experience at the Charlotte location needs much improvement. The space is overcrowded, food is banquet quality and the staff have been rude. Good lounge overall. Has all the things you want from a Centurion lounge. Great at the door service (they knew I went to the LGA lounge on my profile when they swiped my card and asked me how that was lol). Lots of Amex decor throughout. Food was good too. Lots of options. I have a nut allergy so when I told a staff member the head chef came out to explain what I should eat or stay away from which I thought was a great gesture. If I could give zero stars I would. Kiki at the centurion lounge in Philadelphia was very rude and unprofessional. We have been platinum members for over 15 years. My daughter is listed as an additional cardholder. She didn't have her physical card with her so was denied access. A gentlemen checking in heard the whole thing and was kind enough to invite my daughter in as his guest -- Amex's official rules say guests can be anyone you choose as long as they enter with you. The agent, Kiki, refused her access because they weren't traveling together. This was frustrating because the policy is clear, and I've never had this issue at other Centurion Lounges. It seems like staff are inconsistently interpreting the rules when they choose to do so, which makes the experience unpredictable. I expect better consistency from Amex given the premium we pay for these benefits. read more

Dear Centurion Lounge Team, I am sharing some feedback regarding the Centurion Lounge in Philadelphia. Over the past five-plus years of using Centurion Lounges worldwide, this location has consistently been the most disappointing experience. The food options rarely change and are very limited. Each visit typically includes chicken thighs, a salad bar with the same toppings and dressings, one additional salad such as tabbouleh or farro, rice, vegetables, and Moroccan carrot soup. Unfortunately, there is no bread, no appetizers, no charcuterie board, sliders, or mini sandwiches--just the same repetitive and uninspired selections each time. Additionally, there is almost always a 45-minute wait to enter this lounge, which significantly diminishes the value of the experience. A possible solution could be to allow customers to call ahead and reserve a 3-hour window. If they do not arrive within 15 minutes of their reserved time, they will forfeit the slot and return to the waitlist. This would help manage demand more effectively and improve the guest experience. I strongly encourage the culinary and operations teams to review offerings and processes at other Centurion Lounges, such as those in London or Argentina, where the variety, quality, and overall management are far superior. A refresh of both the menu and entry process would go a long way in elevating the Philadelphia lounge to the high standards expected of Centurion Lounges. What do you do when you have a long layover to Paris? You hit up the centurion lounge and chill. We sat in 3 different spots from tables, to smaller tables to the lounge chairs. All were comfy. The drink menu was seasonal and the bourbon drink with cider is a must try. We ate the token chicken and rice dish and had a nice salad. Service was good. The cleaning crew was all over it. Sometimes a little quick as I finished my meal and the plate was removed as I finished chewing. Sometimes this lounge gets filled fast so reserve if possible 10 mins before you get there. read more

Enjoyed my stop at the Centurion Lounge. The lounge was clean and well maintained. Staff were incredibly friendly. I was there around breakfast time and enjoyed the quiche, green juice, and vegan breakfast meat. There were also pastries, eggs, fruit, yogurt and more. The lounge is unfortunately located in the international terminal. There is a shuttle that leaves every 10-15 minutes. I would give yourself 30 minutes to be safe to get to your terminal. read more

The service is horrible at the lounge. The associates that work the door act as if it is an exclusive nightclub. Very rude and dismissive. My wife and I followed the instructions and got on the waiting list. Waited 25 minutes and then finally got the opportunity to go to the lounge. Once I went to check in, I was told that I was not able to enter because I was there 3h30m prior to departure and that I had to be within a 3 hr window. She said if we were on a connecting flight, it would be a different story. Well the rest of the story is that I've been at the Philadelphia airport for 24 hours because American Airlines always fails to deliver. It is a busy lounge. Staff needs to communicate better and kindly to guests. We saw a lot of angry guests because of wait times. We were told thirty minutes and waited over an hour - setting more realistic expectations will help. Check in station is the first impression, and they looked stressed. A couple of the ladies were not happy and sounded irritated. The wait upstairs was poorly managed. It got very crowded and was confusing when you got off the elevator. Guests explained to one another who was waiting and who needed to get in the checkin line. Suggest having an employee downstairs start a line as it was very crowded upstairs with no seats while waiting to enter. I did appreciate how they had an employee take you to seats when it was your turn. It may not be your first choice, but it is a very busy and crowded lounge. It's a small lounge and it closes at 9:00 pm, but there are some benefits to it as well, compared other centurion lounge this location barely has a wait time every time I go. Also, PHL domestic and International shares the same terminal so it means that you can still use the lounge even if you are flying domestic. The food was decent but the chocolate chip cookies were so good I had 4 which was more than I should have. Bathroom cleanliness needs an improvement though. read more

This longe gets very busy. They first put you on a list / they text you the initial tex) they give you an estimated time. However, whatever they say // add on 20/30 minutes. The food is ok, not the best centurion for the food aspect. They have no amenities or local flair found in other locations. The vast majority of the limited available seating is either in a walkway or a cafe table top Bar is well stocked. They have a water dispenser next to the waiting area -- but you need to ask for glasses??? It's the smallest centurion longe. Employees need better communication between each other.
