Came in a few days ago. Sad to find out that the main day cook quit I think his name was Zach, some guy with a beard is no longer working there, because he made the best burger I've ever eaten in my entire life, and even came out to make sure that it wasn't over cooked considering I ordered it medium rare and he made sure the fries were crispy enough because I asked them to be as crispy as possible and he delivered, even asked if I wanted any special seasoning on them which was not on the menu. Cooks almost never come out and make sure the food is good and I can tell he genuinely cared even though he was cooking for multiple tables with many people at a time I didn't feel left out, along with the bartender who was serving my drinks which were cheap and strong but not too strong which is rare to find. Either way the food was good this time as well and the music on the jukebox was a bit loud and I asked them if they could turn it down and they politely obliged. They even asked me if there was anything special I wanted to watch on tv and gave me the remote. The pool table is free which is rare and the bathrooms are much nicer now that it's been slightly remodeled with the new owner. I don't live in Jackson anymore but whenever I'm home visiting I make sure to come down no matter what. Very diverse crowd as well which was nice to see, everything from young black folks to 80 year old white men. There was a rap music playing on the jukebox, yet golf on the TV, I've never been in a bar so diverse when it comes to Jackson Michigan. Just a friendly accepting atmosphere all around. Didn't see the new owner anywhere but honestly he didn't even need to be there because his employees knew what they were doing, that's for sure !!!!! My one single complaint was that they didn't have Bud Light draft, they ran out but to make up for it they gave me a Bud Light bottles for the same price ! Really can't think of a single complaint besides the parking lot being full of potholes lol !!!! Will definitely be back with a group of friends the next time I'm in town read more

Place is a ZERO. First time I've seen veteran discrimination in Michigan. You can find it at Brass Rail that's for sure. Top of the line rude! Sorry you won't serve Soldiers and Marines, really seemed random but directed at the three of us. Once a great neighborhood bar, it changed hands recently, and went to hell. Another Jackson 'Grotto,' just for the elite, I guess. VFW goers, Legion goers, all Vets, please flip the bird at this place. They will do it to you, they did it to us. Hell, I didn't even get a drink, much less raise hell. Booted at 3:30 pm for walking in, Nope we we're drunk. Just accused of it. read more
