We are fans of Eagle Nest primarily for the lakefront seating and inside patio. Yesterday our party of seven was seated in the main dining area as there was no room in the patio areas. That did not matter this time. Eagles Nest made up for it with a vastly improved menu over even a year ago when they had a pretty bare bones menu. Almost everyone at the table raved about the food. I got the Salmon Florentine special. The salmon was nicely seasoned and on rice and a tasty spinach soufflé base. My wife, a big crabcake fan. rated hers the best she's had in over three decades. My daughter's fish tacos looked amazing and she said my son-in rarely finishes his burger, but ate every bite. The service was a little spotty as our server abandoned us for a while, but when the co-owner found out (I went to the bar for a water), she came to our table to make sure everything was OK. All in all it was a great experience, lake or no lake. I hate to not give it five stars and next time we come it'll be in a smaller group on a not so busy day. read more

We came here this past Saturday night for the celebration of our friend's Birthday. We sat outside and enjoyed the live music and the views of Lake Clarke. I ordered the basket of shrimp and fries it was good. My wife had the Mac and cheese chicken pasta and she said the cheese was bland it could been a bit sharp. The sweat potato's were overcooked. Service was attentive and we ordered the dessert Togo, strawberry shortcake came with biscuits instead of angel cake and the strawberries were jammed. Also the whipped cream the packed was so small it was not even enough for one biscuit, so that was disappointing. read more

First time here. Was looking forward to live music but we came on a day that was raining off and on all day so there was no live music or outdoor seating. We did get a good table by the glass so we had a decent view of the lake. I started with their hush puppy style corn bites. They were ok but not what they described, I give them a 2 out of 5. For dinner our friend ordered the Brussels sprouts and they came out soggy not crispy the texture was way off. The manager did come to our table and apologized sincerely so that was very nice of her and they did remove them out of the bill. Our waitress was attentive but forgot my salad. When I reminded her, our food was already out so I didn't eat my salad. I had the salmon and it was nice, I would give it a 7 out of 10 I did enjoy my margarita it was nice, but it had too much ice, I give it a 8 out of 10 Willing to give it another try but not anytime soon. read more

Great location, lackluster food. It seems like every couple years they try to revamp their menu but it hasn't worked. Stop trying to go fancy and keep it simple and do it right. Something needs to change here. There's so much potential to be top notch, but there's been too many failures and too many second chances. It's not uncommon to get room temperature food or notified after you order that they are out of an item, even if it's not busy. We went to the Eagles Nest because some of the weekly specials looked good, and they were. I ordered the smoked turkey grill cheese with sundried tomatoes from the new menu and my wife got the fried chicken Gordon bleu sandwich. Both were really good, and the fries were cooked to perfection - which I know doesn't seem like a big thing, but they are half the plate. Served hot and golden brown they were great, a lot better than anyone else's around. Our favorite Irish Hills restaurant. Food is great & view of the lake is amazing. Hands down best thing on the menu are beef short ribs, fried shrimp & baby potatoes. So so so good!!! Our family group of 9 visited this place on a sunny Saturday for lunch. We always enjoy sitting outside when possible and this place has excellent views of Clark lake. Although it was slightly overcast, the sun beamed down pretty constant for us and the breeze off the lake made it a perfect patio day; actually surprised it wasn't busier. In researching this place, the only thing that reared its head for negative comments on here was inconsistency or just poor service, but let me assure you our experience was the complete opposite. We were greeted and sat in a very fast and friendly manner and our server Brevan was not only great for this establishment but also one of the best that I can remember in all my dining experiences. He was extremely pleasant, welcoming and professional in his manner and super chill and pleasant in getting all our requests and just checking in: amazing job and so refreshing to see someone so extremely kind and pleasant. The food was also extremely tasty and flavorful; the kids all enjoyed their portions with the only setback being a slightly undercooked burger for my nephew but the team took care of it to make it right. Everything else was perfect. I got the grilled chicken wrap and it was fresh and flavorful with each bite and I highly recommend the jalapeño ranch (best ever) if you like an extra kick. Our table also shared and devoured the spinach dip to start. They also offer a fairly extensive alcohol list with lots of specialty cocktail or wine offerings. My favorite cocktail was the sizzle (something) that had a kick of jalapeño flavor. Definitely recommend everyone in the area give this place a try for the total experience. read more

This place sits right on the lake with a cool view and patio seating available. The parking lot was full however they still had a few seats left. For a Friday night I was happy we didn't have to wait. The lobster cheese dip was awesome! The salmon was a solid as was the burger. This is a place was a great stop and we will be returning. We are local and it was great the first 2 years of new ownership. This year it has went downhill in service and food quality. We were there about 4 times over 2 months Every time our group order was wrong, there were things forgotten, and the quality of the food was not great. One time my salad was a bowl of lettuce with a couple croutons, I had to ask for the other veggies to please be added, the tomatoes, etc, I could give other examples, but I do not want to tear it down. I only wrote this because I am not sure if the verbal feedback I gave mattered as it was usually shrugged shoulders. We did have some very nice servers that said it had been a rough summer. Please turn things around as we want to see this place succeed and have another amazing local restaurant to support. read more

The location is amazing! The atmosphere of dining right on the water is literally the only place around Jackson you can get it. The bars in doors are also super pretty and the window room is going to be a hit. The food was tasty but the menu doesn't seem to be anything special yet. Hopefully they have more specials and things soon but will def be going back her to experience Clark Lake. read more

Went in tonight for my birthday dinner I would save service was 1 star, took 20 minutes to even greet us. had to ask for water twice. all of our appetizers came out before any drinks, had to ask for water again. one drink came half empty with no ice. corn dip: no flavor, very bland. brussels sprouts: over cooked calamari: good, liked the sauce corn kickers: who doesn't love those bbq shrimp: decent but drowned in bbq sauce very over powering asked for a refill of water, brought water no ice. tortellini with salmon was very bland, no Alfredo sauce just melted cheese on top. Every time I go the service is awful- I mean can't you print out a beer menu - cocktails had a menu wine had a menu but beer was rattled off by waiter - water came fast drinks took 15-20 - asked for 5 more months before we ordered and 20 min later waiter showed up - - it was fine for we had good conversation- also the room gets very loud- food was amazingly good - hence why we put up with ahit service read more

The Nest is right down the street from my cottage. I want so much to like it. The reception team is untrained (no warm greeting, no "give me just a minute". The wait-staff is untrained (no coffee refills, not the right orders delivered). The food was fine, it's hard to wreck breakfast. The computer system was down, so they couldn't take payment. The manager Stephanie is lovely, and finally figured out a solution with some help. I feel like they NEED TRAINING. It is not rocket science. It is a people business, but the employees have forgotten to treat people like they matter. It is a general sense of apathy. The thing is that their employers are all lovely people. Just went for brunch and the restaurant was at least half-empty. We waited over an hour for our food to come out and had to threaten to walk before it arrived. When we got the food, our table order was incomplete; one of the simple omelettes was wrong, another was missing. The manager came by and we complained. He thought the best response was to make a joke about our waiting over an hour. It is a bad sign when a restaurant gets complacent because it is one of the few on Clarklake, but it really is easy to drive ten minutes to Brooklyn or Jackson and order brunch from a place that has more respect for its customers. Father's Day brunch. We were sat right away which was great. After we ordered, it took 50 minutes for our egg dishes to come out. The restaurant wasn't that busy. We weren't sure if the kitchen was understaffed? It was bizarre. The food and drinks were good. We were unlucky with our server - everyone else working seemed very competent but our guy seemed high and confused. Their "brunch" is all breakfast dishes - no lunch options at all which was a bummer. Anyway, we'll try again for dinner but not a great experience. read more

We are very glad that this business is under new management, finally got renovated and started up. The facilities are expanded and well done. It has 2 new bars (one is outside facing Clark Lake). Our wait person (Curinne) was fantastic, energetic, personable, cheerful, and very attentive (and we said so to her manager). The food service was fairly quick, but we did voice some concerns about the food: - the vegetables seemed to be from a frozen bag. Not tasty. - the steak cut was ok, but had little flavor. - the Reuben did not have any sauerkraut nor dressing. The mixed drinks were very good, as was the dining atmosphere. The waitstaff was very attentive and this review does not in any way represent them. The cocktails were not awesome and the food was pretty terrible. My husband and I ordered very simple things. Between our appetizer, Reuben and should have been "blackened" chicken sandwich, the only thing palatable was the pretzel bites, with another restaurant's queso sauce. At sunset, sitting outside on their patio brings a beautiful view. It's sad to say their waitstaff has to deal with the misfortune of an unpalatable menu and b*tchy clientele to boot; I sincerely feel for them. read more
