Amazing chicken and flavor! I've seen this place pop up quite a few times online but never realized the location. I got to finally try it for the first time and I will definitely be back! I ordered The Bowl Bowl which had sweet potatoes, avocado and roasted jalapenos. The chicken was seasoned and cooked so fresh. You can even see them grilling the chicken behind the counter. I got the chili garlic sauce on the side which was essentially their garlic sauce and a chili sauce combined in the same dish. But the person ringing me up may have been the owner or manager. And devour that shit I did, for it was some of the most succulent, juicy, chicken and toppings I've had in the area. And you know we were hittin it with that extra sauce. This is my first time at the Chicken Shop. It is located in a strip mall at the corner of Irvine Ave and Westcliff in Newport Beach next to the Ralph's supermarket. There is plenty of parking and the access is easy. The Chicken shop is a casual Lebanese/Australian restaurant that specializes in Mediterranean style rotisserie chicken. The menu is short but on point. It includes Chicken à la carte, (Whole, half etc...) wraps, bowls and a variety of sides. The chicken is roasted over charcoal and is antibiotic free and the kitchen is 100% seed oil free. All their bowls and wraps can be made vegan by getting mushrooms instead of chicken. I got the Bowl Bowl with mushrooms. All the ingredients were really fresh and everything was delicious. It comes with a raspberry vinaigrette which i tried but i feel it was unnecessary as the dish was well seasoned and tasty as is. And my buddy Mike who is a regular there and who treated me to lunch, got the newport bowl with chicken. They have a refrigerator with grab and go beverages as well as a small section with various snacks. There is limited seating inside the restaurant as most of the seating is in an outdoor communal type setting shared with other restaurants. The service is excellent and prices are average. They warned me that it would take approximately 30 minutes to get my to-go meal but it came out in closer to 20 minutes (so I'd recommend calling and placing an order to go if you're in a rush). I ordered a char'd bowl and was highly impressed! You can just tell that all the ingredients are SUPER fresh. It's open kitchen and you can watch them grilling/rotating the chicken. The chicken itself was much juicier than other chicken salad/bowl places because of how fresh it is. The dressing was also delicious and not too heavy. The crispy chickpeas are 10/10. The bowl bowl is also delicious but it has a much stronger flavor because of the garlic in the chimichurri and I think it's in the rice as well. Both have the same dressing. Soooo good!!!! The sweet potato fries are also a must. One sniff of the air wafting from their grills to your nose, and you'll know what you're in for. They grill their chicken over charcoals and have amazing sauces to go with. I'd personally recommend the wrap. It's nice and compact, handheld if sometimes you're running around trying to eat something on the go. But stop and smell the roses - sit down and enjoy your wrap on a beautiful warm day with breeze, then after, you can visit Pandor next door. The chicken is so flavourful, so juicy, the secret is definitely in their marinades and spices. Say goodbye to American style chicken that can often be boring. My goodness I'm a fan of the toum (garlic spread) I'll eat enough of it to ward off any vampires that come my way, it comes on the wrap, but you don't have to get it on it. Then, I pair with the yogurt harissa. YUM. They also have amazing, healthy bowls if you're not in the mood for a wrap. You'll be kind of smelly when you're in there.
