I'm giving this place 4 stars. The burrito was good, just not the best breakfast burrito I've had in Costa Mesa. The main thing for me was the spice. The salsa was really spicy and it kind of caught me off guard. On an empty stomach it was a lot and at one point I wasn't even sure I could keep eating it. I do wish there was a heads up about how spicy it was because I probably would have gotten it on the side or taken it out. I still ended up finishing it though lol. The burrito itself was really big, definitely enough to share. My partner and I split one and we were both full, so portion wise it was solid. It was about $16 plus tip, which felt a little pricey for what it was, but not terrible. The spot itself is really cute and had a good amount of people even on a weekday. The staff was friendly and the girl helping us knew the menu well and pointed out the popular options which I appreciated. I would come back and try something else next time, probably without the salsa lol

I'm so glad we discovered this spot. I had heard about their huge burritos, and they definitely live up to the reputation. I was really surprised by the weight when I picked up our bag. I personally preferred the Firebird over the carne asada, but we were both pleasantly surprised by their flavorful salsas. Every burrito comes with tater tots, which seems to be the trend these days, and I'm all for it. The restaurant was fairly empty near closing on a Saturday, so ordering was quick and easy. Seating is limited both indoors and outdoors, so grabbing food to go might be your best bet. And a heads-up for any old schoolers: this place is cashless. We had to try the classic carne asada especially since we heard it was a favorite, and also grabbed the Firebird because it looked too good to pass up. I'm loving the tater tots trend, and Earlybird takes it up a notch by using over-easy eggs in the Firebird. On top of that, the fried chicken adds an extra layer of crunch that really brings everything together. This was easily my favorite. Unfortunately, the carne asada didn't quite hit the same. The marinade was underwhelming and overall the burrito felt a bit unbalanced. This might be the only time I've ever wanted less guacamole. The salsas were an absolute hit with us. They had a surprising tanginess that worked really well. And the red sauce wasn't very spicy, so we found ourselves piling it on. Overall, it was a bit hit-or-miss, but the burritos are undeniably hearty, creative, and filling. I appreciate the unique flavor combos, and I'd definitely come back to try more, especially the K-Town Sunrise.

There are so many better burrito spots in OC, but I kept seeing the hype and decided to give this place a try. I ordered the carne asada burrito with no tater tots or tortilla strips. What I got was honestly disappointing. The burrito was overly watery and mushy--to the point where I couldn't even eat it by hand. I tried taking a few bites in the car before getting home, but it was already falling apart. They also didn't include my sides of verde and roja sauce, which was frustrating. For a $20 burrito, I expect to at least be able to hold and eat it properly. If I wanted something that messy, I would've just ordered a bowl. Plus the Asada gave off like soupy vibes and way too salty. I wonder if they gave me chorizo... I genuinely think it was a mix of asada and chorizo although I paid for EXTRA ASADA. I don't like chorizo so that was probably the over powering disgusting taste. SALTY SALTY MESS. I had to force myself to finish it. Another issue was the eggs, there were some in the first few bites, but after that, they basically disappeared from the rest of the burrito. I usually like to try multiple items when I check out a new spot, but I honestly don't see myself coming back here. Carne asada burrito: 5/10

I have high expectations for breakfast burritos so I was hesitant to try this new spot but I am so glad I did! Located in The Lab, tucked away in the back is where you'll find Earlybird. The parking situation at The Lab can be tricky but if you come early morning you'll have better luck. The space itself is small, not a lot of seating inside, however The Lab has plenty of spots to set up if you want to eat here. So many items on the menu caught my eye but ultimately I went with the K-Town burrito since that is a pretty unique one. Absolutely delicious and fairly hefty. My first bite had a burst of egg yolk which is the best way to start off in my book. The beef, tater tots, aioli, and everything else mesh together so well and I would get this burrito again! My only critique would be the uneven spread of ingredients. While it was tasty it wasn't until almost halfway through that I started getting the kimchi, tots, and aioli. Despite that this was still a clear 5/5! Can't wait to come back

Well HELLO sunshine, love walking up for breakfast and there's no line. It was a weekday, so expect a line on the weekends. Wanted to begin my journey with keeping it classic and traditional so I ordered a bacon bird and an eggy n' cheesy. I picked up some hot sauce for my friend. It looked too good to leave behind. The eggy n' cheesy simple and great if you aren't in the mood for meat. The bacon bird...YUM! The bacon is so yummy. I may need extra bacon next round. Here's my heads up...there isn't a lot of seating so plan to pickup and go or find somewhere around The Lab to sit. And because it's The Lab you know parking isn't always your friend. I also heard there's a good coffee shop nearby, so grab a coffee and pop a squat and enjoy your breakfast.

Details.. .. Came for breakfast w. the hubs on a Sunday around 10:30am. .. There were maybe 4-5 parties ahead of us to order & the line went pretty quickly. .. Hubs ordered the Firebird & I ordered the Carne Asada. prOs.. .. Staff were friendly. .. Kitchen/minimal inside seating looked clean. .. The burritos themselves were perfection! Very cleanly wrapped so your first & last bites didn't just consist of tortilla. Panini press grilled on the outside for addition crunch & burrito/tortilla stability. The flavors were well balanced. Eggs tasted fresh & weren't rubbery. cOns.. .. Personally, the crispy tortilla strips in my carne asada burrito did nothing for me. There was already crunch from the tater tots & color from the other components. .. Parking is a sh*tshow at the Lab where EBB is located. Not their fault, but still a con. neutral observatiOns.. .. At the time of ordering, I was informed it would be a 20ish-min wait for the food & a text would be sent when the order was ready. Pretty accurate wait time quote. We didn't mind waiting, but fair warning since they're new & popular.

Located inside the The LAB Anti-Mall, Earlybird can get pretty hectic when it comes to parking. Seating inside is also limited, but there are outdoor areas where you can take your food. One word of caution: I ordered the Firebird burrito, and although it was labeled correctly, the burrito inside was different. If you've already waited 15-25 minutes, it's definitely worth double-checking your order before leaving. As for the Firebird itself, it had good texture and solid flavor overall, but the balance was off. The eggs were great but concentrated mostly on one side of the burrito, while the other half was much heavier on the chicken. A more even distribution would've made for a better bite throughout. Not sure if there was siriacha aioli in the burrito, or enough of it, but it needed the chili to give it the right spice.

I've been eating quite a few breakfast burritos and this spot sounded so good! But alas did not hit the spot the way I thought it would given its SD fame. Fried chicken sandwich 4/5 $10 Thick and flavorful chicken, cheese, eggs, I don't recall what else but this was quite enjoyable. The buns didn't fall apart and was yummy top to bottom! Sausage burrito 3/5 $13-$16 It seemed a bit underseasoned and was necessary with the hot sauce. Without hot sauce is 2/5. The sausage was less pronounced than I thought it was, eggs were fine, I asked for no guac and there was tons of guac on the edges. The hash brown could have been crispier. Tortilla is ok in taste. I prolly wouldn't get it again sadly. Cereal bar 4/5 $5 Essentially a Rice Krispy made from various cereal. Pretty good! Less sweet than I thought it would be. I cut this into smaller bites and we ate it over a couple of days. Tots 4/5 $5 Idk if the quantity is worth the cost, but they were flavorful. The breading or something is diff on the outside, but the way they package it doesn't allow the hot steam to escape causing them to get soggy in a short time period. Pickup/parking was easy on a weekday.

Definitely give this place a try!! After many years of going to the Pacific Beach location, I just found out today that they opened up a location in Costa Mesa. Rejoice! I went on Valentines Day and drove from LA, so I placed my order online. It was an estimated wait of 45 minutes - I am unsure if it's because of the grand opening or Saturday holiday breakfast rush but I didn't mind. My husband ordered his carne asada with no eggs, and I tried the new K-Town breakfast burrito. I haven't seen it on the menu in recent months so wanted to give it a try. It has bulgogi, over easy eggs, tater tots, kimchi, green onions, and gochujang aioli. When I looked at the website menu I do see it is a Costa Mesa location exclusive. It was impossible to find parking on site so we did a grab and go and found a local coffee shop to eat at. The salsas and carne asada burrito were good and consistent with the other location we frequent so that's a very good sign. The new bulgogi burrito has more "wet" components than the bacon, chorizo, or carne asada burritos we have ordered in the past. The kimchi and runny egg yolks will most likely make your burrito get soggy quicker than the other flavors so I would suggest eating this at the restaurant or as quick as you can. The bulgogi portion was just okay, and cooked through, but it's very juicy and you probably should keep napkins on you. I had to take a couple bites of this burrito before getting to the meat. Overall, it's great to see a closer location in OC, and it's just as good as the Pacific Beach location flavor wise. I would most likely not order this bulgogi burrito again and instead stick with my old reliable, bacon burrito. I hope to visit this location again very soon to fulfill my Earlybird burrito breakfast cravings!

    Delicious chorizo breakfast burrito! $13!
    Kent V.

Picked up a chorizo breakfast burrito this morning from here. Ordered online and got a text when it was ready. Burrito was a good size for $13. It packed a lot of chorizo, tots and eggs. The eggs were not scrambled but over easy. This made the burrito even better when you would taste the runny yolk. They have 2 varieties of sauces you can take. The green one had more flavor to me. Overall, the burrito was excellent. I would def come back to try other items.

Located in the back of the Lab shopping center. New as of Feb 2026 when we went. Go earlier or risk stressful parking and long lines. Even when we went at 8:45am on a Saturday, it still took more than 15 minutes to prep a small order. Recommend ordering in advance online. Slow, but very friendly service! Order at the register and they call out your name when ready. A few small tables inside and outside, but seems like more of a to-go spot. Wife and I split the bacon bird burrito and a side of tots. Prob would've been overly stuffed if I ate both on my own, but loved everything! Be sure to try their green (sweet) and red (hot) sauces. Ran us $18 including tax and small tip. Reasonable given today's insane pricing, especially since it's high quality.

The newest location for this breakfast burrito eaterie with a great grand opening event this morning offering 100 free burritos to the first 100 guests. Although when the line got to be 300, the owner generously announced that they'd be giving a free burrito to everyone who showed up! There was a DJ, the mayor of Costa Mesa showed up too, and they were nice enough to also serve free little cereal bar squares to everyone waiting. The chorizo burrito and the sausage one were both super flavorful and super duper filling! These burritos are actually a full pound. Definitely coming back to try the carne asada breakfast burrito.

It's exciting to have a place in OC that specializes in breakfast burritos. Especially one that comes from San Diego which has some of the best burritos. Against my better judgement, I came on grand opening day. They were giving out free burritos to the first 100 guests but ended up giving out more than that which was really nice of them. The wait time in line wasn't as nice but at least the DJ played good music. They're located in The Lab and the place itself is small, so it's better for take out but there are a couple tables. You can order ahead on their website to save some time. They have 8 different breakfast burritos including a vegan option as well as a couple sandwiches. We tried the Savory Sausage ($13) and Firebird ($14). The Firebird is unique with chicken tenders and sriracha aioli. It was tasty and packed some heat. The sausage one was a good classic burrito but the guacamole overpowered the other ingredients. If you need some extra spice, their green salsa is good. Their burritos are good sized, one pound burritos so they'll fill you up. It's worth a try if you're in the area and can snag a parking spot at The Lab.

Food is overly salty, overcooked eggs, and expensive. Too much for the long wait, almost 30 minutes.

What I Love: * Unique Flavors: The food tastes great and they have some really unique touches. I love that they serve raspberry jam with their toast--it's a nice change from the standard grape or strawberry. * Homemade Quality: It's really cool that they do their own house-made potatoes and even their own homemade ketchup. You can tell they put effort into the details. The Drawbacks: * Pricing & Fees: I'd give this 4.5 stars if I could, but I'm sticking with 4 because it's definitely on the pricey side. What really bugs me is seeing a mandatory tip/service charge for certain group sizes on the receipt. Between the expensive menu and the fact that they are constantly busy with plenty of business, it feels like price gouging. * Parking: The parking lot is very small, so be prepared for a bit of a struggle to find a spot, especially since they are always packed. Final Thoughts: The food and unique house-made items keep me coming back, but be prepared for a high bill and a tight parking situation.

We ordered the combo kabob plate, the Bayshore pizza, and finished with baklava. The combo plate was much larger in person than expected and could easily feed two people, but we were hungry and wanted to try the pizza as well. The meats were seasoned very well and extremely juicy. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the beef kabob was soft enough to almost melt in your mouth. The Bayshore pizza was more of a pan-style pizza with a unique cheese blend instead of traditional mozzarella. Make sure to ask for the pizza dip too, it has a tangy flavor that pairs really well with it. The warm baklava filled with pistachios was a great dessert to finish the meal. Service was friendly throughout the visit, and I appreciated that the restaurant cooks without seed oils because the meal did not feel overly heavy afterward. The interior is upscale and cozy with fresh flowers on each table, and the atmosphere feels great for both casual dinners and events. They also offer catering and private parties, which made me consider coming back for a graduation event in the future. The kabobs are definitely the highlight and are worth trying.

The staff also brought out small beignets for the birthday girl, which was such a sweet gesture. I would 100% come back!

Where do I start...I'm not one to leave many bad reviews, but I think people need to be warned…read moreabout this place. Most of the positive reviews feel overly generous. Read them carefully and you'll see a pattern or poor quality food, small portions, and over priced items. We decided to eat from here, only because of its convenience, and not knowing the area well, this was the closest option We ordered some items to-go since the wait was over 1.5hrs...even though there were at least 6 tables open within eyeshot, not to mention seating upstairs. Maybe they were for reservations, but this place just seems like it has multiple missed opportunities. They told us food would be out in 15-20min which was another reason we ordered to-go, only to wait 45min for our food. Then on top of all that they forgot one of our items and we went back and had to wait another 15min. Theres also isn't an official waiting area at this restaurant or a bar to sit at, so missed opportunity 1. With ridiculous wait times when there are open tables, serving drinks to people seems like a no brainer to make a little extra revenue and retain customer happiness. Portions, even to go our portions were small. 26 bucks for fish and chips only to get 3 small fish fingers piece of cod and a handful of cold fries feels like a crime. Some of the food we ordered was odd the kids menu and the grilled cheese was served on, what felt like stale bread, enough to where I didnt feel comfortable have my child eat it. I doubt i'll ever come back here. I'll just doordash, or Uber eats something to the beach next time.

It's not very often that I say this but I'm going to say it now. I may have had one of the top…read moredining experiences of my life. And it came from a breakfast joint, which is super rare in and of itself. Having lived in Southern California for many many years, I thought I had seen and experienced just about everything in the way of good places to eat. As I was driving around looking for some breakfast, I stumbled across oeb breakfast. And I am so glad I did. For starters, when you walk through the door, the place is bright and Cherry and has just the right amount of whimsy. It's neatly laid out and everything is in full view. It only took a moment my server to come get me at the front and direct me to a table. Let's talk about the service. Having been in the food service industry, I know what it takes to have a great dining experience. Caesar, who was my waiter, took care of me in a level that I have not seen in a very long time. Personable, gracious, accommodating, and helpful are just a few of the words I would use to describe my experience being served by him. I asked for coffee and water and within moments it arrived on my table. Side note, the coffee is off the chain! It is a brand called Umbria and it is amazing. After scanning the menu, I opted for the beef bulldogi Benedict with the beef Tallow fries. I asked for the fries extra crispy, and ask for my milk to be served with breakfast. If you've read any of my Yelp reviews on breakfast places, you know that that is one of my litmus tests for the accuracy of the order. If I have to ask for my milk after the meal's been delivered, they're not doing their job. Not that I'm picky, for me. It is just a way to determine how good of a listener the server actually is. It didn't take long at all for the food to be delivered. The presentation was absolutely amazing, as we eat with our eyes. First, I have to say that the way the food was plated was definitely a work of art. Once the food was dropped off half of me was going. I wonder if they will remember... And before I could finish my thought Caesar showed back up with the milk. Home run! The food itself was absolutely wonderful, I cannot remember when I have enjoyed a breakfast as much as this one. All the flavors were there, it was perfectly balanced, and was just a pleasant dining experience overall. Bragging on Caesar again, as I was sitting there, the restaurant started to get very busy, he handled himself with such Grace and poise and didn't let the mounting tension frazzle him. Again, I wish this place was in my hometown so I could come here more often, but you can bet that I will be back here multiple times. Bottom line? There aren't many places that I would tell friends they definitely absolutely had to go to. But oeb breakfast is now on the top of the list for me to recommend to my friends.

(Did not take a picture of it) Korean Bulgogi Benedict: 7/10 Some parts of the meat wasn't fully marinated from what I tasted. Some of my bites of the meat were flavorful. A little weird to have 2 pieces of spinach as a garnish. Never seen that before. Potatoes were really good. Can't go wrong with those. Short Rib bowl: 8/10 everything in that bowl were amazing together. Banana Cream Pie French Toast: 4/10 this was a miss for me. Nothing amazing about it. The custard part was off for me. Maybe if it was more of a banana pudding, it would be better with the cream. Didn't really taste like a banana cream pie. Green Machine: 10/10! So good and refreshing Chocolate Milk: needed more chocolate. They gave us a cup with it 1/4 filled because they ran out of milk since it was so busy and never came back with more. I didn't want to bother them and ask them about it, but checked the bill and they only charged us half for it... so we just paid for it and left it as is.
