I got the Japanese curry bowl and the garlic fried rice. I enjoy the fresh and perfectly cooked broccoli. The curry had a nice flavor although it is not as spicy as curry usually is. I would prefer that the potatoes and carrots were cut instead of having large chunks in the curry. I was delighted to find squash/ pumpkin among the veggie mixture. That was a rather pleasant surprise and it was nicely cooked with a comforting melty softness. The garlic fried rice was a bit bland despite the amount of green onions sprinkled on top. The extra chicken I added was also a bit dry, possibly overcooked. But it was ok with a dab of the curry to bring in more moisture and flavor. I would recommend this place for curry for a quick and easy lunch although it is prob known more for it's katsu. read more

Food here is very reasonably priced! You can get a chicken katsu burger for $8, something you don't find easily in the OC. I got the beef katsu burger and the chicken katsu plate. Both meat were on the drier side, and the katsu sauce was sweet and tangy. A good standard meal, with the price being their most appealing factor. I'm surprised at the high ratings here, not sure if it's because they give you a complimentary drink with a review. The restaurant is casual dining so you order first at the front and sit at any available table. Came here for a weekday work lunch and it was a great choice. Parking is easy with a big lot, it wasn't too busy, and the food came out quickly -- perfect for a fast, no-stress lunch break. I live down the street so love walking here on a nice day. You don't see katsu burgers around very often, so that was interesting and definitely caught my eye. Pretty glad we stopped by here on a weekday night for a quick dinner. The worker was very friendly and provided good tips on the menu. We just got the katsu burger and the spicy katsu burger, and both were delicious at a pretty cheap price for the quality in my opinion ($8 for the regular and $9 for the spicy). Finally a spicy chicken is spicy! The chef said that was a complaint and he upped the spice level on the chicken. I am definitely pleased. It hit all the right spots for lunch. The chicken was fresh and cooked well. It satiated the appetite as well as satiating the craving of something spicy and something Asian. Good balance of protein, veggies and carbs. I always past by here to and from work - and I'm glad I stopped by! I got the most popular item (chicken katsu burger) and it was by far the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. Crispy, with excellent texture. I expected it to be greasy, but it wasn't greasy whatsoever! The owner (Axel) mentioned that they make everything fresh per day and you can definitely feel the love in every bite. To be honest the food isn't "bad" but just a little plain. And for less than $20 for two items, they are fair. The person was nice and I waited for no more than 10 minutes so I was happy. The bowl tasted fresh and not overly seasoned, which is nice. The rice was done right (I'm Asian and this is critical). The katsu chicken was very dry, but it was hefty. I wish it weren't breast but thigh, which may be a good solution. I am not a fan of the sauce, which is a little too sweet but not adding much to the fried chicken. The brioche bread was good, but it was very soggy at the bottom, but I guess that was the trade-off for having it to go?
