I'm not sure if its because its right next to the mall so its just busy or they just get low quantities of sized but I always have to end up just ordering the items online. I've been shopping at Torrid since it opened in the early 2000's. Torrid stores in California, Texas and Kansas. Since 2020, I haven't stepped in a Torrid Brick and Mortar store. I usually shop online. Yesterday I decided to head to Torrid Cerritos. Two ladies behind the counter turned around from handling clothes behind the counter and hurriedly said welcome then turned back continuing on with clothes. I looked around for a few pieces in the front, but I wanted help with narrowing down a dress for church that I had to be at in an hour. When I asked for help one of the ladies didn't appear happy. Because one of them had to help me, she appeared almost annoyed. I told her my size when she asked and she immediately started saying she wasn't sure she had my size in her store. I knew that was not true because I saw a couple of newer pieces in the front. She said she might have some in the clearance rack and she started trying to pull pieces from the Clearance rack. Usually the clearance rack has very outdated clothing. But she assumed I couldn't afford a new dress or something. After a couple of minutes she pulled out an atrocious muted peach dress that was from 10 or more summers ago, at least it looked like it. It looked see through, the employee tried to gaslight me into thinking it wasn't. At that point I was ready to leave. I went back to front of the store and just decided to leave. I've never felt so bad. I was treated really poorly, tossed aside. The employee had a take it or leave it attitude. I was looking for a little grace, dignity and Respect. I left there thinking this is the last time I'll be patronizing Torrid. I never could have imagined that I'd be saying goodbye to my old faithful clothing store. Torrid, you were good until you weren't.

I've been coming here for a couple of years now. Recently, I came here and the guest service was on point. It wasn't until I got to the checkout counter that things just became very annoying. I selected a couple of tees for my daughter and niece. My intentions were to pay together and get two separate shopping bags for my daughter and niece. The cashier tells me," I'm sorry but unfortunately we didn't order enough bags to give you two." Really? I responded," That's poor management on behalf of your store. What are guests supposed to do if you run out of bags?" No response. I requested to have my daughter's and niece's items rang separately to obtain two separate bags. After ringing the second purchase she still asks me the stupidest question," Do you mind if I bag everything inside of one bag?" I replied," Of course. I need two bags. I paid separately. Give me two bags." Having worked retail before. I understand the policies regarding not giving people empty shopping bags without purchases. There's a belief that giving them an empty shopping bag will allow them to shoplift. In my case. It was just stupid. Still give them four stars for service, selection and value for my money.

Sometimes, just SOMETIMES if your an adult you can possibly squeeze into a kids XL, or like I've seen some women do, they wear the boys clothes... Sometimes it gets a little crazy in here, with all the clearance stuff thrown on the floor, and littering the third room. But that only happens when the store in a hyper active mode. I used to have to use a candle to sample the scent but often these are more subtle than a Wallflower. Great improvement! I came in today for some Wallflower plugs and some fragrances. If you love this brand, getting the Athleta credit card is totally worth it. I had an additional 20% for my Birthday month and I was happy to use it on top of the 30% they were already offering. The store had a few new items that I did not see online, including some adorable jackets. The sale associate who approached me was beyond helpful and suggested several items. She brought me a pullover in the exact color I wanted and I would have never picked it on my on. I tried it on and loved it. I also purchased a jacket and she brought me every color until I decided on one. I met who I believe was the store manager, Veronica, who assisted in ringing me up. She was beyond helpful in fixing an issue with my additional discount. The customer service in the store was outstanding and I loved seeing new items that weren't available online.
