We visited the Chinita Baker's booth at the foster city 4th of July event today. We got the chicken lumpia, crispy rice pork belly rice plates, iced Vietnamese coffee and Ube flan! Everything is so delicious, the chicken lumpia is meaty, the crispy rice pork belly is crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Will definitely visit again!

Grabbed dinner from this food vendor at the SouthBay Summer Fest in SJ this past weekend. There was no line to order and service was friendly, the wait for my food no more than ten minutes and the complimentary bottle of cold water was appreciated on this warm and sunny late afternoon. The pork belly rice bowl was delish, the perfect balance of crispy and juicy, lots of flavor from the fat, and a generous serving of rice included. The chicken lumpia was even better, 10 mini pieces served hot and fresh with a side of sweet n sour sauce... it was really good. A great meal overall.

Lechon plate - perfect amount of food and lechon is so crispy.

Visited you all during the Mid Autumn Festival in Millbrae. I ordered the lechon plate and it was amazing. The service and food are exceptional. Perfect portions. I will support you all the way!!

We see the pork belly plate being advertised on the Enchant website, so when we got to the event we were on the hunt for the stall! Happily surprised to see that it was a Filipino food stall. The pork belly was delicious! Super crispy and fatty. We ordered 2 plates for 5 people to snack on and it was more than enough! I'd want to try more of their foods next time.

It's pricey but sometimes when you're at a festival, you find yourself spending like you're on vacation with Monopoly money... we got pork belly $20 and dessert: ube flan $6 and chocolate cake $6. Everything was tasty but portions a little small for the price -- especially the palm size dessert cups. Also had their iced Thai tea which is quite sweet and comes in a bag for $8. Sometimes it's like you're held hostage when you're out at a festival and you've been waiting in line for an hour on a hot day so why not... next thing you know, you're ready $50 in!

I was greeted with a very friendly and gregarious clerk who took my order. He processed the transaction very quickly and I was served my food within a few minutes. Props to him for positive interactions. The combo at 30 dollars seemed like a steep price, which included the pork belly plate, a drink, and a dessert, but it was only 2 dollars more than the plate and drink themselves. For the amount of food given, I would say this combo would be great to share between 2 people, so it is quite a value meal albeit simple. The crispy pork belly was pretty standard for what I expect from something like lechon kawali, with some pieces being a bit tough but the crispy fattiness coming through. The pickled vegetables were a nice addition to help offset the pork belly richness, and the sauce was as usual super flavorful. I only wish there was more sauce for the amount of meat received. For my taste, the Thai tea was much too sweet and the chocolate caramel cake although good was also too sweet. At some point, I probably would've enjoyed these much more. Nevertheless, considering that this combo meal could've been shared between 2 people and the service was so friendly and efficient, I was quite satisfied with my purchase.

Spring Food & Craft Fair [Elk Grove] As soon as I arrived at this pop up event in Elk Grove this vendor caught my eye immediately... they were situated outside the sports complex along with other vendors. It was a rainy day that weekend. I love homemade baked goods and I wanted to see what they offered. They had bakery items but I got something else instead... I ordered their Lobster Balls and Chicken Lumpia. They were cooked to order so it took some wait time. The lobster balls ($8) were 4-pcs on a stick... it was okay but I was shocked at the lumpia serving. They should change their description to mini Shanghai lumpia as they weren't regular size lumpias but were the size of a Shanghai lumpia cut in half (Shanghai lumpia are smaller than the regular lumpia) and this tiny 8-pcs were $10 a serving. That's half I paid for a good AYCE sushi place we have here in Roseville... I was still hungry after that little snack ¯\_('~')_/¯ This vendor hails from the Bay Area. I think I'll skip this vendor the next time they're around the neighborhood. Instagram: @thechinitabaker Review #2909

Having someone to do menu planning and grocery shopping was a huge time saver and ensured that we had home-cooked meals to eat rather than falling back to ordering takeout every night. Johanna provided a wide variety in her meals. Most menus came directly from her, but sometimes I would request certain types of food or specific dishes she had made in the past that were our favorites. Johanna tailored her menus to meet my dietary restrictions (low saturated fat). She always left the kitchen clean with clear instructions for the meals and even some cooking tips along the way! Johanna came every 2 weeks but was flexible around holidays and vacation. Would absolutely recommend her services!

My (now) husband is a severe Celiac and so making sure all food is completely Gluten-free was the number one concern. The Chef was quick to respond and so helpful in brainstorming a potential menu for the event (we settled on Mexican). She then got started on putting together the recipes and gathering the proposed ingredient list. This is where the Chef went above and beyond for us-she sent us the full recipes and proposed ingredients(down to the specific brands) so that we could ensure that everything was free from gluten and free from cross-contamination (a shocking amount of spices are processed on the same equipment as wheat). She even was able to find a way to make gluten free Tres Leches and Tiramisu (our favorites). For our wedding cakes! Menu: Crudités with Green Goddess Dip Queso Fundido with Chorizo Pico de Gallo Chopped Salad Chili Verde Stew Slow Cooked Barbocoa Tacos Roasted Zucchini Sweet Bell Pepper Rice Spicy Citrus Black Beans Tres Leches with strawberries Tiramisu Preparation: The chef packaged up all of our food so that my sister could pick it up and transport it (our venue was 4 hours north of the bay). She provided detailed instructions for reheating the food and prepping the cakes. She even made sure we would have any additional utensils that would be necessary. She gave me an accurate and in-depth invoice that broke down the expenses and made it easy to work into our wedding budget. Food: WOW WOW WOW! The best part (obviously) was the food! Everything was fresh and vibrant and so so delicious! The Queso provided the best cheese pull I have ever seen and my husband and I are still drooling over that Tres Leches and my family keeps bringing up how incredible the dinner was! Additionally my husband was able to freely eat everything to his hearts content, confident that he wouldn't become ill on our special day. I cannot recommend Chef Johanna enough!!

The concept of having Korean food cooked in a robotic food truck is interesting to me. Since the food was catered, unfortunately I was unable to see the robots cooking in action, but fortunately was able to taste the final products. I was able to try the Wagyu galbi (short ribs), dak galbi (marinated chicken), Seoul food bowl (stir-fried pork belly and shrimp), and japchae, served with their corn salad, kimchi, and white rice. The Wagyu galbi was very flavorful with a good amount of vegetables; though I enjoyed the inclusion of lotus root, the veggies seemed like borderline filler to skimp out on meat. The dak galbi was also flavorful though spicy, and again the inclusion of rice cakes seemed like filler. The pork belly and shrimp were delicious, and I liked that the pieces of pork belly I had didn't have an overpowering amount of fat. The japchae was pretty standard and was nice to balance out the meat. I enjoyed the corn salad because it added a creamy component to my meal. The kimchi got lost in the mixture of food in my bowl and the rice was cooked perfectly by the robot. Overall, I enjoyed the food prepared by OLHSO Truck. Unfortunately, since the food was catered and already prepared when I arrived, I cannot comment on the service or wait times provided by the staff. I would consider ordering food from the truck if I am craving Korean fusion type of food and am too lazy to dine in at a local Korean restaurant. If the food from the truck is a good representation of the restaurant in downtown San Mateo, I am more inclined to try the restaurant for a nice sit down dining experience.
