The Chop Shop - Super kind & friendly barbers that are true professionals and masters of their craft. I usually get a mid/high fade w/ a combover and it always comes correct. I've gotten cut from Bong & Phil, although you can't miss with anyone barber here based on my observations. One unique feature is that they provide you a hot towel option on your face, which is pretty relaxing. They also have some clean merch too. Finding a skilled barber for kids is very tough. I can only imagine the patience needed to cut the hair of a 2 year old who moves around a lot... Thankfully, Kevin Nacor is by far the most patient barber I've met. He always gives his thoughts on how my wife and I want to cut my sons hair. He is very understanding and makes any circumstance work when my son doesn't want to sit in the chair. Pictured below you can see Kevin set up Connect4 for my son to occupy himself while he finished up the haircut. Was looking for a new shop locally that I didn't have to travel far to and I found The Chop Shop. I get cut by John Viray and he's honestly given me the best haircuts I've ever gotten since my last barber that had moved out of California. John definitely perfects your haircut and treats it as a craft rather than making a dollar, every single part of my haircut was exactly how I liked it. The ambiance inside of the shop is amazing, they have TVs that are playing some great music, a relaxing environment inside of the shop as well as affordable prices in comparison to a lot of places which shows their passion as barbers. Another great thing to note is that they also have a female which braids hair for those that want to get braided which ultimately makes this shop one of a kind within San Mateo County for an "Urban" spot. Second time my 7 year old came here, but today was the first time I brought him into the Shop because my husband was working. For some Moms it can be intimidating coming into a Barber Shop full of guys but all the barbers there were so welcoming right when we walked in they made me feel comfortable, and even offered if I needed some water. Phil's work is clean 10/10 and my son is comfortable getting his haircut by Phil. Shop is clean and spacious and a lot of seating. Also booking an appointment on Booksy was fast and easy. I've been getting cut by John Panopio, "The Pope", for over a decade and can't envision ever getting cut by someone else. He's super friendly, hard-working, and always takes his time to do the cut right, even if his schedule is super duper tight. After leaving his shop, I always feel more confident than before. The shop is clean, well maintained, and they're always bumping the latest jams or marvel movies on tv. It's a light-hearted atmosphere where you can tell that the folks working are having a good time. Pope's schedule is (almost) always full so I highly recommend booking an appointment at least 1 week in advance. They say cheating on your barber is worse than cheating on your wife, and if you commit adultery by giving Pope a try I think you'll find the juice is worth the squeeze. read more

This place is dope! I walked by once and it looked like a pretty cool shop so I thought I'd stop by for my next cut. I tried to walk in, but they seemed to be booked for the day, however, Kev was able to fit me into his schedule. I'm not a guy that knows too much about hair cuts. I told Kev what I usually get, how I want to style it, and that it was for my sister's wedding and he pretty much said he got me. I feel like he really listened to what I wanted, took his time to make sure I was looking nice, and also recommended what works for my hair. Probably the best fade i've had. Also came with a wash and hot towel for your face which was super nice relaxing. It was pricier and a longer appointment than im used to but it was definitely worth it. All the barbers are really chill and seemed like close friends. The vibe is cool, they treat you well, they joke around, but when it comes to hair they take it serious. If you have the time and money, highly recommend. And shoutout to Kev again for fitting me in last minute and for the fresh cut. read more

I'm a first time customer who found the business through google. I called in for a same day appointment and no one could take me but Kevin offered to stay late to squeeze me in. Upon arrival I was offered a complimentary drink and then started my complimentary hair wash. Kevin did a great job of asking if I had pictures for him to reference from my past cuts and style. Once we got started he let me know in advance the first cut would take a little longer so he can give me the best first cut. That is much appreciated. I asked for a bald taper and trim on top and it came out amazing. I'll be coming back. I'm glad there's a quality shop in Millbrae. The other barbers are all friendly and welcoming too! read more
